For some reason, the microphone won’t work with my Switch unless I use an extension cable
EDIT: After around 6 months the microphone failed completely. I contacted PDP customer service and they sent a whole new pair which seems to have no issues. My kids have used the new pair for seveal months with no issues. I’m going to upgrade this review to 4 stars for the killer customer support and since it seems I just got a bad one before.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I suspect something is defective in the headphone jack on these; perhaps it is not machined correctly. The problem is that the mic does not work when used on my Switch. The mic works on other devices, and it even works on the switch if I plug it into an extension cable and then plug that into the Switch, but it won’t work if I just plug it in directly. The headphone functionality appears to work fine on all devices.This is okay for me since I use an extension cable, but it is very peculiar behavior considering it does not seem to work well with the exact device it is targeting.Note that you have to flip the mic down in order to turn it on. This is a really neat feature because it allows you to mute just by moving the mic up.Unfortunately, it’s 3-star at best given the build quality.

Sometimes it Works
I know you typically get what you pay for when it comes to accessories but I saw a lot of positive reviews and decided to give this one a try. The sound quality is pretty bad and the wire seems to be loose or having problems. I hear a lot of static anytime the wire moves slightly when turning my head or moving in any way. If I don’t fiddle with the wire for a bit I only get sound in one ear. It’s possible that my headset in particular is defective but I don’t think I will be trying this one again.
