Great little camera
I’m no camera pro or anything but I like this little thing a lot. I’m the past we had bought a cheaper one for one of the kids but it was too complicated and just generally bad quality. This one by comparison was so simple to use and actually looks and feels substantial. Love that it came with two batteries and a memory card. It arrived just in time for our vacation and we’re excited to get some good use out of it.

This waterproof camera is great! It’s great for someone like me. I like to make movies but have bad tremors but this camera makes it look like I’m super steady. I can’t wait to get to the beach and put in the water and record as I snorkel. What a great camera!!!

Solid GoPro alternative, but video settings are weird
I picked this up to film some outdoor biking and swimming where I didn’t want to risk breaking an expensive name-brand camera.Pros:Great value at ~$80Includes two batteries and charging caseTons of mounting accessories includedMenu system is easy to navigateCons:Audio records in monoStrange file compression logicInstructions are just okayBuild and AccessoriesFor a generic “off-brand” clone, the build quality feels surprisingly good. It doesn’t feel like a hollow toy. It comes with a huge variety of mounts, two batteries, and a charging case right out of the box. The instructions aren’t comprehensive, but they are intelligible enough to get you started.Video PerformanceThe video quality is solid for the price. However, the internal encoding is very strange. I measured the 4K 60FPS footage, and it encodes at 25mbps. But when I dropped the resolution to 1080p 60FPS, the bitrate actually jumped up to 36mbps. I have no explanation for why the lower resolution video takes up 40% more space and data, but it is something to be aware of if you are trying to save SD card space.Audio QualityThe audio is acceptable for capturing human speech, but don’t expect high fidelity. It records a mono track at a 16kHz sample rate with a bitrate of 35kbps. It sounds fine for a vlog, but it lacks the depth of more expensive cameras.ComparisonWhile it looks just like a GoPro Hero, the software logic is definitely less polished, especially regarding how it handles file sizes and bitrates.VerdictPerfect for beginners or for high-risk activities where you want decent 4K video but don’t want to cry if the camera gets lost or damaged.One DownsideThe bitrate quirk is baffling. It is annoying that shooting in 1080p actually fills up your memory card faster than shooting in 4K.
