Great Chromebook
I spent days researching laptops and Chromebooks trying to figure out what the best option would be for homeschooling my three elementary aged children. I finally settled on this Chromebook, and man I’m glad I did. I was skeptical after reading all the reviews but I’m skeptical about everything these days.So in some of the reviews I saw complaints about screen quality, a cap lock button not working etc. Well, it’s a Chromebook so it does not have a cap lock button, so that’s a non issue. The screen quality doesn’t compare to my iMac, but I wasn’t expecting it to, my iMac cost me $1,300 and this Chromebook cost me $216. The screen quality I think is amazing for the price. It’s not bad at all. It’s not like playing an Atari or the old Sega genesis we had as kids lol.All in all I bought 3 of these Chromebooks and I think they are a great buy! They are very speedy for my slow internet connection and everything functions flawlessly and did I mention they are really easy to set up and operate!? This is just what I needed for the kids. Now I can stay organized with all of my kids school work, no fighting over my expensive desktop and the kids have everything they need in a compact Chromebook. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase! They are plenty rugged (mind you they are still a delicate electronic device, I don’t care how rugged anyone claims an electronic device to be, my children are going to be taught to treat then very delicately!). But they are rugged enough where I feel if there was a minor accidental drop etc, they would be fine. I say go for it! We love ours!!I will be back to update in the event one of them dies or malfunctions and warranty is not honored or something like that. I’m hoping these will last a long time, in the end, if they last 2+ years they have paid for themselves in my eyes.

Absolutely the best choice for a kid who needs a computer for school !
I am a 50 yr old father to 7 kids. I am also a IT professional. I have been working with computers for more than 20 years. But believe it or not, I still get hung up on curent techology from time to time. With that being said, I think I have a good feel for what is worthwile in the tech area. I can say, this is a good buy. I have to preface it however as what do you plan to do with it. If you plan on video editing, this is no good. If you want to watch videos, this is great. If you want to play fortnite, this will not be any good. If you want to play farmtown on facebook, this will work great. Its an excellent little laptop, that really isn’t a laptop, but behaves a lot like one. one of my kids uses this for her homework, and it is perfect. Her school books this year are all on line. The school provides office 365 for the kids. She brings it to school with her everyday, and she is very happy. Most of her friends all have a chromebook, and everyone says they like hers the best. This one is very sturdy and feels firm in your hands. The keyboard has a great feel – when you press keys, it has a nice click to it. Requires a good amount of pressure to type, but not too much. The battery life is great, easily lasts the entire day. Not heavy at all, its easy to carry around all day. For a teenager, its absolutely perfect. It is rugged, and water resistant, and somewhat immune to viruses. Admittedly, we are big time Google users. We have had a gmail accounts for years and we use all the wonderful products – Drive (docs, sheets, slides, and drawings), Voice (both phone and sms), Hangouts, Keep, Calendar, etc – that google has. If you’re like me in this you’ll be very happy to see that this Chromebook is a natural extension of your blissful Google experience. However if I had to say anything negative, to me personally it almost looks like a toy. More like fisher price or a leap frog, rather than an Apple of HP. So if you are a business proffesional and would have a hangup on something like that, you may want to consider a different style. But for functionality and price, you really can’t beat it. Here is one tip for you, if you have never used Chrome OS before One thing I would strongly recommend is that you explore the help (?) section soon after you start it up for the first time. This is a Chrome OS so its slightly different than a Mac or Windows OS and will take a little getting used to. It’s very intuitive and user friendly but you’ll save yourself a lot of frustration if you take an hour to learn how to use it.I am considering buying a second one for me. This is what I plan on doing. I am sure you could install Ubuntu on it, and get myself a 64gb sd card, and I will have a fully functioning Linux computer. Linux software is all free, and much more reliable than windows. There is free office, free photo editing, free audio software. This machine has more than enough power to do all that !

It’s a cheap chromebook that gets the job done!
I got this chromebook because it was the cheapest one I saw with 4 GB of RAM (which is necessary nowadays). I use Microsoft Office Online within Chrome to do all my word processing or Excel. I have owned this chromebook for half of a year.Pros: This computer has the longest battery life I’ve ever experienced. My old computer was the coveted Dell XPS 13, but this has such a larger battery (albeit I’ve only used it for half a year, so it could go down). It can deliver speed and it can play Google Android Store apps. I’ve downloaded a few apps to help me with my worktasks (Caret for notetaking, Google Play Music/Spotify for music, Skype for Android, etc.)Cons: The keyboard is not good. It requires too much key travel to register a letter. I wish it was more sensitive. I am a fast typer, and I often find myself missing letters because I didn’t press the keystroke with enough force. It’s rather annoying! Also, there is no dedicated “Delete” key (you have to do Alt + Backspace for it). I’ve also heard it’s difficult to setup a printer with ChromeOS, but I do not own a printer so I cannot verify this.I’m pretty satisfied with my purchase. I spent a cheaper amount of money (225 US Dollars) and I am getting a very fast machine with very long battery. Of course, I cannot do any programming on this machine, so I have switched to cloud computing to solve this task. It’s also pretty lightweight, which is nice.Summary: This is a very good computer for anyone, in my opinion. Programmers (like me) can adapt and install Linux. Older people (like my parents) can use it to do any of their tasks, like check Excel, Word, or email without worrying about getting viruses or going through something confusing. Little kids can toy with the machine without worry of breaking/harming it because it is very easy to reset “powerwash” the machine, and it’s very durable. The one extra thing I would recommend is to buy a 64 GB SD Card so you can store more files locally!

For my 79 year old mother it was great choice as its does not use Windows OS , so worry free hassle free windows pc replacement laptop that is fast easy to use, no worry about getting infected with any malware, or worry about ransomware or any of that windows virus’s infecting your pc from emails or online, you can install and use a online or offline Anti Virus or malware software to scan files for use on other windows installed computers if needed, does a quick chrome OS updates like few minutes or less and done!!!. And just need a google account to use for online or offline!! and a modern Internet WiFi connection is best.You can do your secure web banking at home, and install a VPN client so no worry about remote or social media hacking , anonymous web surfing, social media , facebook, twitter, research web searching , school work the standard web browsers are available, like fire fox, google chrome and standard family net stuff is possible etc.No need to turn it off, just close the screen it saves everything and it power’s down or goes into sleep or low power mode, next day flip screen up it’s on and everything is back the way you left it , It has a great battery life aprx 10 hours when you needed it mobile. you can use it as your home office pc, use stickies or notes pin to the desktop, use for book keeping, use google chrome cloud software or other cloud software for everyday use or you can print to a wifi enabled printer is best. You can hook up a external usb mouse and usb keyboard and external hdmi monitor.For the basics you don’t need anything else!!A great little laptop, it would be nice if it also had touch screen , when its avail and on sale next time, to replace my older slower cheaply made china tablet that will die soon.

Es mi primera chromebook y la experiencia hasta el momento ha sido muy positiva. La calidad del producto es alta, principalmente porque es muy resistente y portable y el sonido del aparato es muy bueno. Lo mejor de todo es que la pila dura horas, lo que la hace ideal para trasladarla a la universidad o algún espacio público para estudiar. Recomiendo altamente esta chromebook.
