Simple reading with thought provoking ideas
Since I read non-fiction, my first instinct is to learn about the credentials of the author. I picked up this book knowing it was not coming from a researcher. The book did not disappoint me. At many points in the book, I paused to process the ideas it planted in my head. There are some thought provoking ideas (rightly so) such as “thought” versus “thinking”, and that we ourselves associate good or bad with things and experiences by thinking. Of course, in books like these, every reader has their own set of takeaways based on their own situations. Reading the book was a good use of my time.

    Excellent read and wonderful insights!
This book was a great read and really offers insights into how our minds take control and how to get it back. I enjoyed this book so much that I bought it for my sister and daughter. The writer is very relatable and it was easy to make a connection, by his sharing of thoughts versus talking at you. definitely recommend!

    Attempting to slow/stop overthinking? Read.
A quick read. A simple, but powerful, idea to fight against overthinking and anxiety. If you’re seeking guidance on ways to get out of your own way/mind, I definitely recommend reading this book. As someone who has struggled with overthinking and diagnosed anxiety for YEARS AND YEARS, it’s a seemingly simple concept, with true, imaginable, guidance. Is it the big fix? Meh. It’s a simple explanation, with tons of easy explainable and applicable ways to manage this in the day-to-day.I’m hopeful this can truly help me better manage my thinking, to live a healthier and happier life.

    Life-changing read.
Life-changing read. This dramatically changed my perspective. It was easily readable, understandable and without an excess of unnecessary information. It also includes practicable information on how to put these principles into practice. I will be referring to it frequently.

    Must Read
Short book but great read. Read a chapter a day and began to see a difference in my thinking. I have always been negative and have let my trauma consume me. The questions and advice this book shared really shifted my mindset and made me actively end the suffering I was causing myself.

A good try, but not for those who have trauma/depression IMO.
Some lines were catchy, but I couldn’t make it past the first half of the book. Most of it was very repetitive to the point it felt like the author was trying to stretch out one paragraph to be able to consist over 3 pages. I’ve been through a lot of trauma and also suffer from depression. I don’t think this book is for someone who is in a similar boat since it’s more frustrating than anything. It was a nice concept of a book, but I don’t think it has realistic advice for those of us really struggling, in my unfortunately honest opinion.

Be ready to really look within
Wow. Just wow. I bought this book bc of the reviews I read online. I was in the market for something that would help me do some self reflection and really dive into my emotions on a soul level. I cannot even begin to tell you how insightful this book is. It opened my eyes to a ton of truths about myself. You MUST go into this book with an open and ready mind. It will make you rethink your entire life. I plan on buying 3 other books from Joseph after reading this one! Do yourself an absolute favor if you have self doubt, problems with communication, feel like you’re not moving forward in life, etc. I could list a billion and two other reasons to buy this book but I don’t think I’ll have enough characters. Joseph Nguyen if you read this review, truly, thank you for putting this book out there and sharing your knowledge, you sir are profound.
