Dark, gray, or wrongfully believed low resolution screen : All Eink products used Kaleido 3 color e-ink technology, which currently has inherent limitations and share the same darker or grayer screen than LCD/LED ones. This is a characteristic of all e-ink products, not a defect. If it doesn’t meet your expectations, you may return the product under our return policy. However, please note this is not considered a product fault.

    Cute
I upgraded from the first generation, I love the colored e-ink. Very similar to the original palma, this one is quicker and I get the finger print censor so that’s cool. I had not seen any pictures of this new palma in the light so I included these. I also highlighted a random excerpt so you can get an idea of what to expect. The color looks much better in the sun light, I’ve noticed it looks duller while I am indoors. This is quite a bit of money for what this is, and was definitely not a need but I love it.

    Screen too dark
Such a letdown unfortunately. The screen is so dark it is barely usable without enabling the light. And contrast is mediocre.

Palma Pro is horrible and expensive!!!
first palma pro arrived and the dual mic didnt work. I ordered another and the second one came in screen was superdark and more microphone issues. I sent that back and now my third one keeps freezing. When it powers down it gets stuck on power off and I have to hold button down at least a minut for it to boot back up. whatr a shame boox used to be a great product. I have a feeling they shoved this out to market too early and we have to suffer because of it. The THIRD ONE AT LEAST WORKS but THE BATTERY SUCKS. I have charged it twice and battery dies in two days when its not even in use its just sleeping. WOW BOOX DO BETTER!!! I have pretty much half the devices they ever put out and this one is making me not a fan

    Awesome little Ereader.
Love it. This is my second Palma. I also own the first one. Price is comparable with most devices today. And for what it does, i did not mind the price. It fits great in my pocket or purse. It seems very durable. I like the texture on the back. I like that it has color. I added mobile data threw my carrier so I can download books where ever I am. I have kindle and Kobo on my device which I love, now i just carry one device and have all my books. I have not seen the yellow line people have mentioned. But i dont need to turn brightness up to much. Screen is easy to read from. There was a little learning curve but once i figured out, I have not had a problem since. Battery life seems to be fine. I have not had to keep charging. If you are looking for something that does mobile phone stuff then this may not be for you. I can not say how the pen would work since I passed on it. I have a bad habit of losing them.

Not worth to pay $430 for it =.=
I decided to return it after trying it for a couple of days. As people mention, it is only worth to buy if you need color, if not I think Palma 2 is already a good one. To be true, the only reason why I chose Boox is because they support SD card. If not, there are many other better ones to buy with a little bit better price. While using it, I found something that looked weird. When you open apps, for example: Google Chrome Browser, Facebook or Facebook Messenger, the tab on top where shows the battery and time did not show up. It does not happen like that on Palma 2 or Go 7 color. I have no idea why it happens on the Palma 2 pro. I will add a video when I can.For me, if it is just for color, I will not buy it. I would rather buy the Palma 2 at $290 but not the pro at $430. It is a huge different just for color.I would say that it is not a good taking note device because the screen is too small. I would use the go 7 gen 2.The quality of the screen is not as good as I thought.

If you’re a fan of the Palma, this one is Fantastic!
I love it! I had the first Palma and really liked it. The size, the OS and everything. Finally heard about this one AND it has color? Yes please! I’m a bigger fan of using the Kindle app. It allows real immersive reading (audio book & book) which is what I look for now. It also has a small speaker for your audiobooks so Bluetooth isn’t required. Yes it is pricey but for me it ticks all the boxes I have for an ereader! Edit: Please for the love of everything ADJUST the “BOOX EinkWise” options if it’s too dark or just not to your liking. There’s lots of options. It is not a one size fits all deal. Also I have noticed zero yellowing. I also have no desire to get a stylus or use a sim. This has replaced 2 kindles and and iPad mini. I love ereaders and this one really fits all my needs. If you’ve use a Palma and liked it, then you already know your way around this one.
