The Simple, Tough Little Phone That Surprised Me
I picked up the AGM M10 Flip as a backup phone, but honestly, it has earned a permanent spot in my lineup. The first thing that struck me when I unboxed it was the size — it’s tiny in the best way. It reminds me of the old-school flip phones that just worked, but this one feels much more solid. I can drop it on concrete, rinse it off under the faucet, and toss it in my gym bag without any stress. My smartphone could never survive half of what this little tank has already been through.Before activating it, I learned the hard way that you must activate a new T-Mobile SIM in another phone first — the instructions warned about this, but I was impatient. Once I did it properly, the M10 recognized the SIM immediately. Inserting the SIM also required a gentle touch; the slot is tight but secure once you get used to it.What I appreciate most is how thoughtful the design feels. The big buttons make texting surprisingly fast (T9 muscle memory came back instantly), and the loud 98dB speaker is no joke — I can hear calls even in my garage with power tools running. The speed dial feature has been great too; I assigned my parents to long-press keys so I can reach them instantly. The SOS button is something I hope I never need, but knowing it’s there gives me peace of mind, especially when I go hiking or traveling.Battery life is another win. AGM includes two batteries and a charging dock, which I didn’t realize would be so convenient until I started using it. Their Legion smartwatch is the only I have found that survives my uses, and works well, along with the M6 phone I own, that has held up through the worst I could throw at it and keeps working like new.This new M10 Flip Phone is not only a cool throwback to the old flip phones, but it is built like a tank! It is small compared to modern phones and fits easily in my pockets. The exterior is made from a combo of aluminum and polymer to give it a nice look while making it waterproof, dustproof and drop proof, and actually meets MIL-STD810H! A solid rating that tells you this phone can take a beating and still keep going.Loud clear speaker for easily hearing a call in a loud work environment, with a ringer you can’t miss! Fast and easy one touch button for the flashlight! Basic functions that work well are the theme here, a simple camera, a bright flashlight, a programmable SOS button, even an external SOS button for triggering the SOS flashlight pattern. Smart and simple display on the outside to let you see notifications without opening it up. Great battery life that goes all day with plenty of power left, plus the battery is removable!! something you rarely see these days, and comes with a second battery for when you need more power and are far away from any power source. It instantly let me pair my AGM watch, and it works seamlessly with the phone, letting me take calls from the watch, or use it take pictures from the phone as a remote trigger. Dual Sim slots let me have my work and personal number in one device, as well as swap to other sims as needed. Good call reception in all areas I have tried it.A great and simple, yet durable phone that will serve you well if you only need the features that count and put your phone in the harshest environments possible.
