OUR BRAND
Altra Running was founded on an innovative approach to running shoes. An approach that took us from the back room of a specialty running store to the front of the pack on roads and trails across the world. With innovation at our forefront, our founders created our first shoe with the help of a toaster oven. This was the start of our signature shoe construction to help you move naturally and has kept our brand going for a decade while aiming to keep you running for a lifetime.

OUR PURPOSE
Unleashing human potential by inspiring the world to move naturally is what Altra Running is all about. Our purpose is built around discovery, joy, responsibility, natural movement, and finding your potential.

OUR INNOVATION
Our wide-lacing system inspired our signature FootShape design to encourage natural movement. While a household toaster oven inspired our founders, FootShape and Balanced Cushioning has inspired thousands of people to unleash their human potential. That’s the foundation of Altra Running: innovative, disruptive thinking.

The last running show you will ever want to own!
The ALTRA Men’s Torin 7 Road Running Shoe is hands down one of the best running shoes I’ve ever owned. From comfort to performance, it checks all the boxes for a high-quality road running shoe.Exceptional ComfortThe plush cushioning in the Torin 7 provides unparalleled comfort, even on long-distance runs. The updated midsole with Altra EGO™ MAX foam delivers a soft yet responsive ride that feels light underfoot. Whether running on asphalt or concrete, my feet feel supported and comfortable throughout.Roomy Toe BoxOne of my favorite features is the FootShape™ toe box. It gives my toes plenty of room to splay naturally, reducing discomfort and preventing blisters. This design is perfect for runners who need extra space without compromising the snug fit in the rest of the shoe.Superior Fit and LockdownThe engineered mesh upper is breathable and lightweight, keeping my feet cool even during intense runs. The updated lacing system ensures a secure lockdown without causing pressure points. The heel padding adds extra comfort and stability.Performance and StabilityThe Balanced Cushioning™ platform is a game-changer, promoting proper alignment and reducing impact on my joints. It feels incredibly stable, even on uneven surfaces. The outsole provides excellent grip, giving me confidence to push my pace in all weather conditions.DurabilityAfter putting these shoes through weeks of rigorous training, they still look and feel brand new. The materials are clearly high-quality, and the overall construction feels built to last.VersatilityWhile they shine on long road runs, these shoes are versatile enough for speed workouts and daily wear. They strike the perfect balance between cushioning and responsiveness, making them a great all-around running shoe.Final ThoughtsThe ALTRA Men’s Torin 7 Road Running Shoe is a fantastic choice for runners seeking comfort, stability, and performance. It’s especially ideal for those who value a natural running feel with a roomy toe box. Whether you’re a casual jogger or a seasoned marathoner, these shoes will elevate your running experience. Highly recommended!

Comfortable and Good Looking Even After Surgery
After my husband had foot surgery to correct a bunion, he was afraid to put his foot into a shoe or sneaker. The physical therapist recommended this shoe and it is perfect. It looks like a normal show but has a wide front for his poor toes. He has 2 pair now and uses them whenever he goes outside.

Great shoe recommended by our podiatrist
Great shoe brand that was recommended to my husband by his podiatrist. They are a very good, comfortable, reliable shoe that still looks like new even after a year of wearing them daily to work. They have very unique, vibrant colors as well.

Good fit. Good features … Except for the Mesh front.
This was the first pair of Altra’s I purchased. As I stated in my review of my Olympus 2s, I really like the near-zero drop feature of many of their sneakers. These Torin 7s do not have as much of a midsole as the Olympus 2s. These helped me resolve the issue I was having with my heel. I loved the style of these sneakers. They have an aggressive stance and with the bold, green-yellow bottoms with the gray … just really like them. That’s what attracted me first. No issues with durability at all. Both my Olympus 2s and these Torin 7s required me to size up to a 9 for the perfect fit. The size 9s are very comfortable and allow for me to spread my toes without feeling cramped. One feature I did NOT like — and worthy of losing one full Star — is the mesh tops. They got dirty almost immediately and it got too tedious to try to keep them clean. So, low marks there.
See you on the trail –
Great for running or walking
Very comfortable and supportive. Really love the wide toolbox and zero drop.

Great comfort, poor quality
I’ve had foot pain the past 2 years. I originally found the ALTRA Torin 7 at a well known outdoor Recreational Equipment store. The shoe felt comfortable instantly and helped relieve my foot pain. I thought I found the magic cure for my foot pain that not even a podiatrist could help. I wore them daily to work at a desk job, so only walked in them, no running or working out.Within months they developed a hole on top at the toe crease. This happened on both shoes. I thought maybe it was a defective pair, so decided to order another pair on Amazon. To my surprise, the second pair did the exact same thing within a few months of wear as well. My entire life I have never had a shoe develop holes from only walking, and I’m in my mid 40’s so I’ve gone through a lot of shoes in my adult life. These shoes have to be made out of the cheapest fabric ALTRA could find if it wears out just by walking in them.Paid $160 for the first pair and approx. $110 for the second pair. A shoe that costs this much should never wear out after a couple months of walking around in them at a desk job. I can’t imagine how quickly they would deteriorate if I had used them to workout and run in. I will never buy this brand shoe again, they are complete trash.

Very comfortable for all activities.
Great shoes for me. Large toe box helped me recover from surgery.

Super wide
Great shoes, but don’t underestimate just how wide the wide versions are…i have wide feet, but the regular Altras are already wide enough. These are next level.

A brand and a model of running shoes that fit my feet perfect. A lighter shoe compared with the Altra paradigm 6 which I also use. A bit softer sole again compared with Paradigm, but very comfortable

Got 2 holes in the upper just from regular wear. Upper clearly has durability or quality control issues.
