Writing by Hand Improves Memory

Writing in workbook pages, as opposed to typing on a computer, can help kids focus and learn. Writing by hand fires up specific areas of a child’s brain, improving the ability to both remember what he or she learns and to think of new ideas.

Perfect Head Start for Kindergarten Learning!
I got the School Zone Big Kindergarten Workbook for my nephew before he started school so he could get a little practice and be ahead of the game, and it’s been fantastic! This book is packed with fun, educational activities that cover everything from early reading and writing to numbers, counting, patterns, and story sequencing. The pages are colorful, engaging, and designed perfectly for young learners. He actually looks forward to doing a few pages every day, which says a lot! I love that it mixes learning with play, keeping his attention without feeling like “homework.”The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and the progressive structure helps him build confidence as he moves from simple to slightly more challenging tasks. The quality of the paper and binding is great too, sturdy enough to handle crayons, pencils, and even the occasional eraser mishap.✅ Helpful tip: Tear out a few pages at a time and make short, fun sessions, it keeps kids interested and excited to learn! If you’re looking for a high-quality workbook to prepare your child for kindergarten, this one is absolutely worth it. It’s educational, engaging, and a wonderful confidence booster!

    PERFECT for my kids!
My son just started kindergarten and although these long days have been a transition loves this book! He works on a few pages every evening all on his own. There are several different topics and areas to practice. I got one for my 3 year old that’s preschool focused too. Perfectly age appropriate with building on knowledge.

AWESOME Book for ANY preschooler or Kindergartener!
School Zone does it again! My kids grew up using School Zone workbooks, and now my grandkids are using them!My 3 y.o. grandson didn’t seem that interested in workbooks until he saw this one! Lots of colorful pictures, writing practice, number practice, and all kinds of fun adult-child activities (as well as things they can do on their own and with awseome success!)These newer, large books by School Zone are the best workbooks for kids by far! Teh encourage learning, confidence, and with the bigger size, take the intimidation out of kids taking on “big” reading books later in life!I used to review books for a homeschooling school locally for their curriculumn, and was a tutor as well. These books are by FAR the best I’ve seen for young kids! They are fun for the children, they develop life-long skills and confidence and take the frustration out of learning!I’d recommend these for anyone with young children around, weather it be at home, grandma’s house, at preschool, day care, kindergarten, somethig for the kids to do in the car, or even a doctor’s office visit (EXCELLENT for kids who are ill and miss school as well!) or where ever!If I were to pick one workbook for a pre-K or kindergarten child, this would be it!Lots of color pictures (that lead to more learning through talking WITH a child, and not TO them!), as well as their basics they need in order to succeed. An awesome supplement OR curriculum for a pre-K or K child!I’d also suggest School Zone’s other workbooks for older kids as well (especially the Phonics book for 2nd graders!)Many kids can do these at a younger age and do, so these are great confidence-builders as well! (NOT that these are below grade-level, as they aren’t, but they help the kids in other areas of their school work and help them to enjoy what might otherwise be frustrating or puzzling!)These books are on my “must-have” list for children!

    Keeps child busy.
Good for kids so they can stay away from screens. But won’t help if the child is not great with sitting in one place and doing the activity.

    Wonderful
Great quality! The subjects are neatly organized so it’s easy to find what you want quickly. The lessons are presented in an understanding way, nothing to get confused about. The pictures are really pleasing to see. I do wish the paper material was a bit thicker so markers can be used without leaking through.

Perfect educational resource that makes learning fun and engaging!
This School Zone Big Kindergarten Workbook has been absolutely incredible for preparing my child for school and keeping learning exciting at home – the quality is outstanding with 320 pages of professionally designed activities that progress logically from basic concepts to more advanced skills, printed on durable paper that holds up well to erasing and enthusiastic coloring without tearing or bleeding through. The functionality is phenomenal as it covers all the essential kindergarten skills including early reading, writing, numbers 0-20, and basic math concepts in bite-sized lessons that keep my child engaged without overwhelming them, and I love how each page builds on previous learning while introducing new challenges at just the right pace. It looks great with colorful, appealing illustrations and characters that make learning feel like play rather than work, and the clear instructions make it easy for me to guide activities or let my child work independently with confidence, plus the portable size means we can take it anywhere for quiet learning time. At this price point, it’s incredible value compared to expensive tutoring sessions or multiple smaller workbooks that would cost much more combined – this single book has provided months of educational entertainment while genuinely improving my child’s readiness for kindergarten, and seeing the pride and excitement on their face when they master new concepts or complete challenging pages makes this one of the best investments I’ve made in their early education, giving them a solid foundation while building their confidence and love of learning.

    Great activity book for summer
This book was recommended by my son’s school when we enrolled him in kindergarten. We did it over the summer. It’s easy for kids to understand and it prepared him for a better start to his first year of school.
