Fixes the Hand Tracking on the Cosmos
This is going to be my opinions regarding the External Tracking Mod for the HTC Vive Cosmos and NOT the Cosmos itself. When I first got the Cosmos, I was very disappointed with the tracking. Overlapping hands confused the tracking system as well as low light. But this mod fixes almost all [if not all] the tracking issues. It brings the tracking to the level of the Valve Index and original Vive.I would not recommend anyone purchase this mod if you do not already have the SteamVR lighthouses and original Vive wand controllers. I had the original Vive, so I already had the lighthouses and wands. But if I hadn’t already had everything to make a complete system, and had just the Cosmos headset, the cost would have been too great to complete the system and frankly not worth it.

It Does Its Job
This faceplate does exactly what it is designed to do. My Cosmos is now essentially a Cosmos Elite where it allows the use of the base stations along with the vive wand controllers and the valve index controllers. It came with HL Alyx too so that’s a plug.

Practically a SCAM!
This is probably the worst thing you could purchase for a VR setup. If your only goal is to sit in a chair and look at a VR world then you’ll be fine. But if your goal is actually play a game or two, FORGET IT! The tracking is horrible, even just sitting in a chair the controllers keep losing their places ALL THE TIME! I finally got sick of it and decided to upgrade, but here’s what they DON’T TELL YOU. In order to upgrade you’ll need at least 2 base stations at $200 each, a new faceplate for the headset at $200, as well as 2 new controllers BECAUSE THE NEW DESIGN CONTROLLERS WON’T WORK WITH THIS SYSTEM… and they run $150 each! All in I’m looking at $1,600 to upgrade my set up because the tracking is insanely terrible, meanwhile they’re selling it as a package deal for $900! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GARBAGE!

The only reason you’d purchase this (or HTC) is……
You don’t know any better. After owning/testing 18 headsets for my Youtube channel the Cosmos is possibly the worst, or in the bottom 3, of ANY I’ve tested. Uncomfortable, terrible tracking, terrible controllers, mediocre screen (no where NEAR modern like the Quest 2 or HP G2). Please, PLEASE don’t waste your money on HTC when there are SO MANY better headsets!
