This controller is amazing!
I bought this to use with my Steamdeck. Connecting it was a breeze. The built in wireless receiver stays neatly plugged into the controller’s charging base and I keep that plugged into to my docking station. This charging base is super handy. It fits the controller perfectly and turns it off as soon as you place it on it. It also glows temporarily to let you know it’s charging. The controller feels great in hand and the buttons and sticks function perfectly. I love the trigger stops that allow you to adjust length of pull. The connection is flawless. Battery life is insanely good. The icing on the cake is that you can cycle through fun colors around the ring’s around thumb sticks. I highly recommend this product and I will be buying another to sit at my gaming PC.

If you’re looking for a good all around controller with connectivity ability’s of Bluetooth, and Nintendo switch, this is 100% the controller for you. Its sleek, Feels great, has adjustable settings in the 8BitDo Controller application, Great customizability with the colors, Connects to Pc, Any bluetooth device, Switch, and Switch 2. And is overall one of the best feeling controllers Ive had, You even get reliable Thumbsticks, these jhons are Hall effect, meaning unlike other Controllers, Your not gonna get drift, and its gonna feel a whole lot smoother to use, You also get 4 Extra button’s, Swappable Mouseclick Triggers, and nice Squishy Button’s. Also bonus, it comes with a Charging dock, with an included Dongle, meaning you can just Plug the dock right in and start playing! It should be noted, these wont connect to Playstation or Xbox, and the Xbox ones 8BitDo does sell, are only wireless for Bluetooth, and are forced to be wired for Xbox. Connectivity and Delay times on this controller are astonishing, I have had absolutely No problems with this thing at all, Great battery life, Comfortable feel, All around one of the best controller brands Ive ever bought. Excellent controller with a few quirks for PC players.
After extensive researching, this is one of a handful of controllers I’ve found that supports direct input mode on PC. This protocol allows the gyro and extra buttons to be seen by the OS and bound to things like keyboard presses via Steam Input or other programs.This functionality is highly sought after, but for some reason controller manufacturers dont yet realize this. Holding the star and B buttons while powering on the controller in 2.4ghz mode enables direct input. I’m including this information because for some reason it is not in any of the manuals or information provided by the manufacturer.Pros:- Direct Input mode!!! This cannot be overstated enough. On PC the additional buttons and gyro functionality are very helpful for flightsim games.- Value: This controller provides excellent build quality, features, and a charging dock at a very reasonable price.- Onboard profile storage. Storing up to 3 profiles is great and they can be swapped to with a single button press.- Inputs feel great. Buttons have just the right amount of travel, they arent clicky, but arent excessively long either. Sticks are very smooth and accurate.Cons:- Powering on the controller via the power button seems to revert from direct input back to xinput. Most of the time if I just pick it up from the charger it auto-wakes into direct input mode, but sometimes still reverts to xinput here as well and needs a reboot. There needs to be a way to force the controller to stay in direct input mode. Perhaps this can be a setting in the Ultimate Software profile.- Auto power off. It shuts off after about 15 minutes of inactivity. For my use case, this is a bit annoying as I will regularly leave it inactive, but need to pick it up and have it ready on a moments notice. There is no way to disable the auto-power off, this should be a setting in the Ultimate Software as well. You can get the controller to stay on by plugging it in, but that defeats the purpose of a wireless controller.Feedback for 8BitDo if you read these reviews:- Thumbsticks: The thumbstick caps are removable, it would be amazing if there were longer thumbstick caps available for purchase.- Direct Input mode: This feature should be more evident in your marketing, and more supported by your software. Many PC users desperately want this functionality, and you have it. But the steps to take advantage of this functionality are nowhere in your manuals or documentation. I had to find it in a random reddit post. Also, it needs some work as the controller frequently reverts back to xinput mode. A firmware update addressing this would be very welcome.- Also a firmware update allowing users to disable the auto-shutoff feature would be great!

Nice quality controller for Windows/Steamdeck
I’m not a frequent gamer, so I can only offer a casual opinion on the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless Controller, but I have purchased many different controllers for my kids — mostly other 8BitDo models or official Xbox controllers. We generally are using these with a Windows machine or a Steamdeck.The Ultimate Wireless 2 is a great choice for these platforms — it includes a 2.4ghz dongle built into the charger, so one needs simply to add that charger to the PC in question to get it going. After having dealt with endless annoyances getting wireless to work with Xbox controllers (which seem to sometimes get in a state where they need firmware re-applied), it’s nice to simply plug in a controller and go.These controllers also feel well-built. It is convenient that they come stock as rechargeable and with a recharging dock. I generally dislike lights on controllers, but the illumination around the sticks feels tasteful and well done — and RGB is always a win with the kids.I wound up purchasing another of these so we could play collectively. If you are looking for a wireless controller that has no-hassle connectivity to Windows and/or the Steamdeck, this is a great choice.

Convenient and Affordable
Now apart of my daily use with Steam. Exceptional controller with back buttons and great touch feedback from the face buttons and sticks. All the RGB light stuff is just an added bonus. The lightweight controller made it hard to go back to my Dualsense Edge. Love this controller <3Just make sure to update the firmware!

Simplesmente controle incrível. O 8BitDo Ultimate 2 superou minhas expectativas em tudo. A construção é premium, passa muita qualidade na mão, nada de plástico vagabundo. Os botões são macios, precisos e silenciosos, dá pra jogar por horas sem cansar.Os analógicos são extremamente precisos, sem zona morta estranha, ótimos tanto pra jogos competitivos quanto pra single player. O D-pad é excelente, um dos melhores que já usei, perfeito pra jogos retrô e luta.A conexão é estável, sem lag perceptível, e a bateria dura muito bem. A base de carregamento é outro ponto positivo: prática, bonita e facilita demais o dia a dia. Pegou, jogou, colocou na base, pronto.Além disso, a personalização pelo software é completa e fácil de usar, dá pra ajustar do jeito que você gosta. É aquele controle que você percebe que foi pensado pra quem realmente joga.Resumo: confortável, preciso, bonito e confiável. Hoje, pra mim, é facilmente um dos melhores controles custo-benefício que já usei. Recomendo sem pensar duas vezes.

J’ai changé de manette suite à une extinction complète après des années de dure labeur d’une nacon ultimate (200€) et je suis extrêmement content de cette 8bitdo (60€).Manette très réactive, parfaitement compatible avec mon pc qui l’a détecte aussitôt enlevé du socle de charge.Très qualitatives, ergonomique, impression de robustesse …Sur le plan technique, c’est une des meilleures manette du marché avec un prix explosant toute concurrence (joystick tmr, gâchette hall effect/ lineaire…).Taille de manette unique plus petite qu’une manette élite ou PS5, peut être déplaisant pour certain, elle me convient parfaitement malgré de grandes mains.Les seuls points “négatif” (subjectifs) que je lui ai trouvé sont:- le software qui ne propose pas de personnalisation des paramètres joystick ( courbe d’accélération)-Le software qui ne propose pas de couleur constante, seuls des mods de couleurs variables sont personnalisablesSi vous êtes un joueur plus occasionnel sa petite sœur ultimate 2c fait parfaitement l’affaire ,étant pour moi le meilleur rapport qualité-prix existant (il n’y a bien sûr pas les même caractéristiques).

Completely unusable for the reason intended. I have only had this controller for a day and had nothing but problems. Firstly I want to use it on Bluetooth, it registered however when I go into my PC games the A and B button are switched.I had to download some software to fix itThought my problem was solved? Nope, next went into my game and registered as playstation despite the buttons being the same as xbox. I’m so sad, I just wanted to get away from xbox controllers as they break on me quite frequently. Do better 8bitdo.

Perché non gli manca davvero nulla. Innanzitutto è comodo: layout Xbox con dei grilletti simil-playstation 4. Rimpiango un po’ i grilletti della 360 ma forse solo per abitudine, e comunque nessuno ne fa di simili. La comodità prosegue con il wireless: è possibile attaccare il dongle wireless all’hub di ricarica così che sul PC avrete un solo slot USB occupato comunque decidiate di usarlo; non capisco poi perché sulla pagina dell’articolo non si menzioni da nessuna parte il bluetooth, che funziona alla perfezione passando a Xinput con l’interruttore dietro al controller. Pensavo di fare un “sacrificio” dovendo scegliere tra layout Xbox senza bt o layout Nintendo con bt, e invece sono rimasto sorpreso!Il prezzo è adeguato, e non mi sento di stare comprando un “marchio” come comprando un controller Xbox in circolazione da 10 anni ma che in qualche modo costa come al lancio. Il controller 8BitDo ha un dpad adeguato (rocker ma assolutamente preciso), levette analogiche hall che urlano robustezza, due tasti programmabili dietro, i profili, la vibrazione è corposa e mai fastidiosa, la connessione immediata, la batteria lunga (credo, non mi è mai capitato di dover fermare un gioco perché mi fosse morto il controller!)… Di controller ne ho usati e non ricordo di essere stato mai così soddisfatto
