A Thoughtful Guide to Discovering Your True Calling
“Find the Work You’re Wired to Do” is a compelling and insightful book that truly resonated with me. The author masterfully combines practical advice with introspective exercises, helping readers identify their unique strengths, passions, and values. What I appreciated most is how the book doesn’t just focus on finding any job but emphasizes discovering a career that aligns with who you are at your core. The author’s guidance on navigating challenges and overcoming doubts was particularly valuable, making the process feel achievable rather than overwhelming. The real-life examples and stories added depth and relatability, showing that the journey to finding fulfilling work is different for everyone. Whether you’re at a career crossroads or just starting out, this book is a fantastic resource for anyone seeking meaningful, purpose-driven work. Highly recommended for anyone ready to explore their true potential!

This book is no joke— it’s darn good!
I was wary of this book first— until I got my results.Mr. Coleman explained how to interpret the results so well which decreased the overall feeling of being overwhelmed at first, especially after getting my results. He had made it very clear that this assessment is not a personality-type test, nor will it say what career should you pursue specifically (e.g., actor, etc.); it does guide you to the right direction of what type of job you can do (e.g., researching, influencing).(I shared my result with a psychologist, and she completely agreed with it, saying that it perfectly described me.)I would recommend this book to anyone who still feels like something’s missing in their work life, that their potential had not been discovered yet.

The access code does work when you use a desk top vs cell phone
First, let me address some comments about the code not working. I bought the hardcover book from Amazon, and when I used my cell phone to access the web address supplied in the book, all it did was take me to the Ramsey website, and then I was lost; there needed to be direction from there. The next day I used my work desktop, and I typed in the web address; it took me straight to the assessment, where I entered the code. I’m trying to understand why that happened on my cell phone, however. I thought it was just me, but Ramsey/Coleman need to figure that part out. The assessment was spot-on and very helpful as a career guide. And, when I did reach out to Ramsey.com, someone did respond less than 24-hours.

This Book Has Improved My Life For the Better
Now I feel as though I have the knowledge and tools necessary to find the work that accents my strengths instead of accepting a job that only uses my previous work experience to simply earn a paycheck.I’ve also discovers the areas of interest that I excel at, so I can concentrate on work within those spheres and will be more likely to enjoy the associated tasks. For me, that means being more creative and becoming a full-time entrepreneur instead of working an IT job and having a business side-hustle.Your outcome is guaranteed to be different.

Not enough info
I LOVE the Dave Ramsey show and Ken Coleman is one of my favorite personalities on the show. I’m not a spring chicken, so I wanted to get this book to start thinking about future careers after I retire from my current teaching job. I believe the book was very accurate in assessing my strengths and areas of interest, but where I felt it was lacking was a list of potential jobs that would fit into the strengths and passions, even if it was just a link to a website with more information. I truly feel this book would be 100% better if it included that. I don’t want to see that “justice” is an area without seeing some potential jobs that would fit. I just feel like the book needs more substance. Sorry Ken 🙁

Came Highly Recommended & Did Not Disappoint
This is a good book for high schoolers or recent grads to help them discern where to go next in life. Not just a basic “if you answer the 3rd way on all questions, you should X careers” book but really diving a bit deeper into career fulfillment/life meaning. My daughter enjoyed it.

This book + assessment helped me get clearer on my strengths, what I enjoy doing, and what kind of work might actually “fit.” The questions about talents, passions and mission made me pause and think — sometimes about things I’d overlooked. The result gave me a “purpose statement” that actually felt relevant to me, and that helped narrow down potential career directions (something I needed, being a bit all over the place). It’s quick to read and the assessment only takes 10–15 minutes, which is nice if you don’t want a huge time investment. For someone like me who’s juggling design skills, photography interest, and a desire for hands-on work — it felt like a useful way to get all those scattered pieces into one clearer picture. That said: the book is somewhat short and basic; if you’re hoping for deep guidance or a tightly-defined career roadmap — this isn’t that. You might get better mileage by combining it with real-world experiments and a healthy dose of trial & error.Overall: worth it if you’re searching and not really sure where to start. Just treat it as a first step, not a final map.
