I love this phone. It’s everything it should be…for the most part. However, there are a couple issues – one in particular that leaves the phone unusable. First, the software. Over all, it’s decent. The texting, calling, and contacts work fine. Importing contacts was quick and easy. Never had an issue with calls. The smart keyboard works well while texting. There are a couple minor issues, such as the fact that when you scroll down on a text, it only displays on the top half of the screen. A bit odd, but not the end of the world. I don’t really use the other apps, such as the calculator. The clock is fine, and the alarm works well. The calendar is a bit useless, as it only shows the day in a month view, with nothing else to do. The notes is just what you would expect on a T9. And this is what I expect from a dumbphone with smart features, so I see it as a plus. The mobile hotspot works fine. The reception is decent. The battery life is great, normally getting 4-5 days of use on a single charge. Now for the hardware. It runs fine, lasts a long time, and does its job. The problem is the build quality. The case is built of a solid plastic, which is strong yet light, and the rubber on the back is a nice touch. Sadly, the buttons are not built with the same sturdiness. After 2 months of use, the printing on a couple of the buttons is starting to wear off. And the star button no longer works… I got some dirt on it while working, and it got underneath the buttons. Most of them were fine, but the star button no longer works and I have to really press the 0 hard to get it to register. So while I love it, I cant use it anymore. Most of my communication is texting, and without the star button or 0, Icantwriteamessagewithspacesorpunctuation

Pros: no internet, no browser, no apps, no tracking, no unnecessary notifications. I love it is not a distraction. This phone feels solid and comfortable in my hand. It doesn’t feel like a heavy computer weighing down my gym shorts. I love the feel of pressing actual buttons. Love the USB-c charger. The extra botton press to unlock. Loved the loon alarm.Cons: Pigion or signal or whatever can only be used with other users; I cannot ask 40 other people im in group chats with to change over. No group chats for the regular phone messagin is very confusing. Have you ever come back to your phone and found 15 messages in a group chat? Well here they come through as individual messages and then I have to go back through all the individual messages and try to piece everything together. I did not like have to unlock my phone to see IF there was a notification. I often have my ringer off but take a quick sec here and there to glance at notifications, not efficient to have to unlock phone first. The menu is clunky. The think there are too many menu items and sub menu items. Navigation is not quick, but it would speed up much more if there were multi directional buttons instead of just up and down.The clunky slow menu and the lack of group messages will be the reason for my return. I love almost everything of this phone and I was willing to sacrifice on the clunky menu until the group messages started. These two items caused me to be on my phopne much much longer than i want to be

It’s impossible to get any notion what using this phone is like without experiencing it first-hand. A picture won’t do. An online review won’t do. In fact, this brings to mind the best thing about this phone: it helps you realize that living life through a screen isn’t living your life, but experiencing someone else’s; you can’t “get” the Punkt experience without, well, actually experiencing it.I “got” the value of this phone when I first pulled it out of my pocket rather mindlessly – compulsively, actually. The interface is designed so. intentionally. It’s the exact opposite (the experience, that is) of the software & hardware on smartphones – I mean, I took my iPhone out to look something up and 3 hours later, here I am writing this review after mindlessly going from one app to the next. I HATE this about technology.I really tried working with the smartphone system – setting screen time limits, deleting social media accounts and apps with “bottomless feeds,” the whole 9 yards; I used to work for Apple and know more than a trick or two in terms of the hardware & software. The limits didn’t work for me because I would get in my own way – I’d just bypass the limitations when I “wanted” to. It didn’t work for me. “At some point you realize it’s riskier to stand where you area rather than moving somewhere else.” Because I realized my way wasn’t working (I was finding myself becoming more and more averse to using my smartphone as an actual phone due to my mixed feelings toward it – I decided this love/hate experience was telling me something. For me, smartphones are too much input, too powerful a tool to have in my pocket 16 hours a day; it was time to go back to the pre-2008 days, time to get a dumbphone and change my relationship with technology.I’m glad today’s rabbit hole led me here to write this review, it was my intention to share my experience with others and offer a different take than the tide of negative reviews on this product. Now I will kindly get the hell off my iPhone; I have things to do, a life to live, dreams to realize and thoughts to string together IRL, not on a screen.This phone isn’t perfect, in fact I wish the battery lasted longer, but Punkt is working on this with software updates. The generation before this (MP01) actually had crazy battery life but 2G got shutdown in many places. Fun fact: call quality back in the day was actually better than it is now – we’ve made trade offs to allow for faster data speeds. Well, Punkt adapted and created a 4G version – and it gets me through a day of use and the software is being updated with fixes that impact hardware & software interfacing such as battery life/performance – what more can I ask? It’s apparent and obvious that the company is as dedicated to serving its customer niche of dedicated disconnectors as smartphone companies are to, well, making hardware & software that demand its users’ attention with ever increasing fervor.Do I think it’s best for everyone? No, but it was the full-stop I needed. This phone is for those that want a master of one trade, not a Jack of all trades but master of none (Litephone, I’m looking at you). If you either already have or don’t need things like: a music player (old smartphone or iPad or iPod) an e-book reader and a camera – than this is the best PHONE I’ve ever used. If you need navigation and music and books and podcasts in one device than maybe the Litephone would be better for you.Well done, Punk – I love what this dumb phone is delivering and having held it in my hands and used it for a week, I can see how brilliantly the idea of a phone like this was executed. Thank you for designing a tool that’s so perfectly, beautifully, and simply: a phone.

事情があって、たまたまこういったブリックフォンを購入することになったのですが、普段からスマホとタブレットの両方を使っていたので、「用途の違いと言えば電話番号絡みのことだけだなぁ」と思い、Punkt.からテザリングをして、より画面が大きく作業効率の上がるタブレットやモバイルノートPCだけで仕事をするように戻りました。外に出るときは最低限の持ち出しとしてこれだけを持ち、仕事や趣味はパソコンとタブレットで行うようになってみると、思った以上に気が楽になりました。いつも持ち歩く物なので気づかないうちにスマホに時間を取られていたなぁ、とも感じられ、まさにコンセプトどおりの商品だと思いました。驚いたことに、実際に使っているところを見た友人知人たちからは非常に好評で、他の人たちもスマホに時間を使われてしまっていることへの悩みがあると、改めて実感しました。なるほど海外の若者たちの間で、こういった端末が流行っているというのはそういうことかと、逆に新鮮な体験です。初期不良のある個体に当たってしまったのですが、こちらの販売元が懇切丁寧な対応をしてくださり、あっという間に交換をしてくださいました。国内利用者の少ない輸入品のサポートとしては驚くほど手厚く、とても助かりました。
