Fantastic
I had purchased this controller to mostly play games on the Nintendo Switch 2, and I gotta say, it works amazingly. The buttons are responsive, the d-pad is extremely nice, and the triggers are clicky, although they aren’t analog triggers so, one push and you’re at max input. The sticks themselves feel quite smooth as well, a little similar to a PS5 controller. The build quality itself is very good too and doesn’t feel like cheap plastic. It also has some weight to it, although not a lot, which I’m sure some people will enjoy. Yes, it’s a little small, so people with bigger hands may find it a little difficult to hold, though.I also heard that some controllers needed to update their firmware first before being able to play on the Switch 2, but this one worked with the console right out of the box. Even if it didn’t though, all you would have to do is head to their website, have a USB-C cable ready (there’s one included), and update the controller on your PC/laptop, pretty easy.All in all though, it’s great, and I’m sure to purchase more controllers from this company in the future.

Great but not perfect
I like how compact the controller is. The hall effect sticks also is a plus. No more stick drift. One downside though, when connected to the Steam Deck, it only works well in X-Input mode, which does not support the gyro. If you try Direct Input mode (Playstation) it doesn’t work, nor does it work in Switch mode very well. It’ll connect and the gyro works initially, but as soon as the controller sleeps or disconnects, you’ll have to unpair and re-pair it to the Steam Deck before it works again. I’ve tried updating the Firmware of the controller to the latest and as of May 2025, it still does not work this way.

Faulty equipment and poor customer service
Controller charged for 4 hours, only to last 30 minutes before powering off. The battery would not charge beyond 45 percent according to retroarch. I contacted 8BitDo support and they stated “The detection of these battery levels is not accurate.”, so even the company does not have faith in their product’s accuracy. Also, their customer support does not read full emails and responds with only one or two sentences without offering solutions. I am refunding this product and going with a company who cares about their products and their customers.

XBOX系のパッドを探していたらSN30proが目について、気づいたら買っていた。今どきグリップなしのSFCパッドでゲームできるのかと試しにダ○ソ３をニューゲームしてみたら、そのままクリアしていた。驚くべき操作感。まずグリップがないから中指をパッドの裏に添えないとホールドできないので、L2/R2を中指で押すのは厳しい。ゆえにACシリーズのようにR1/R2を同時に使うようなゲームには向いていない。しかしそれは問題だろうか。L2/R2を中指で押さないとならないゲームはそうあるだろうか。そう、ほとんどのゲームは人差し指でL2/R2を押せば事足りるのである。そう割り切った瞬間、このパッドの薄さが心地よさに繋がる。R1/R2の距離が近いので、そもそも人差し指で押す前提のデザインと思われる。バッテリは朝から夕方までプレイして充電切れになる感じ。充電中はメモリ効果回避のため電源オフにしたいが、オフにしてもすぐオンになるので諦めろん。そしてアラフォーおじさんの心に響くデザイン性。満足感の内訳の半分はこの見た目が占めているかもしれない。なんというかゲームしてないのに握りたくなる。各ボタンのストロークはしっかりめ。スタートボタン押すときに親指が右スティックに当たる場合がある。スティック感度はXBOX360、XBOXONEよりピーキー。L2/R2はトリガーじゃなくスイッチ。マクロ機能、連射機能は使ってない。とにかくデザインにピンときて金があるなら買うがよい。
