Good value for a decent drive
Easy to install. Quiet and tiny. Faster and more portable than the drive it replaced. Love the little icon. Good quality overall. I’d buy it again.

It’s so tiny! Absolutely adorable
I was expecting, you know, a regular size external hard drive. But this one is about the size of two thumb drives side-by-side! It’s so tiny and cute!On a serious note, it runs as expected. I was hoping to put decals on it as part of the gift but it was two small. I even measured with a Seagate drive we have. But I was slightly disappointed that it was so tiny. I was only able to fit two decals. One on each side. Honestly the size is probably better anyway. Takes up less space while in-use, and it makes it easier to store. I wish there was an option to have the full size, but I can overlook that.

USB C Connector Is a Great Benefit of the Seagate Ultra Touch 5TB
The USB C connector is a great benefit of the Seagate Ultra Touch HDD 5TB. Most portable drives like this use a USB Micro B connector on the drive. The USB Micro B connector has a long history of early failures due to a design which is not very strong and a wide profile that allows the user to apply a force with leverage that over time breaks wires in the connector. For some reason, typical reviewers of portable HDDs focus on cost only and ignore this problem with USB Micro B connectors. For Windows users, save yourself some future trouble and format as NTFS. The NTFS format allows some file types that the default exFAT format cannot handle. When you back up a large collection of files, there is a good chance that there are one or more files that exFAT does not handle.

Beware: Problematic ! Doesn’t work with IPAD. Always in use. Can’t EJECT.
Very disappointed. I used Seagate Backup Plus Slim before to backup data from PC and accessed the data when I only had an iPad. It worked great.I purchased this device (Seagate One Touch with Password) because it claims its special security features which sounds great for travelling. It turned out to be awful. Note it claimed this device works on both Windows and iOS. It turns out that iPad can’t show the files on the drive because of “security feature”. Their website suggests that for iPad, one needs to disable the security feature on PC first, then plug into the iPad. THIS TOTALLY DEFEATS the SECURITY FUNCTION. Even worse, when I followed its advice, it still can’t show any files. This time it even can’t show the device attached to the iPad.Also, on the Windows side, 9 out of 10 times there are problems with EJECT. I checked Task Manager, Resource Manager, Background Process.. Hell, nothing is using this device. Zero activity. If I invoke the Toolkit to lock/unlock it, then it can be safely ejected. It just shows the Toolkit app is doing something weird. Many times I had to reboot my PC in the middle of my work. Frustrating ! DON’T BUY unless you want to waste your time and money together !

Small Stay at Home drive
While I have a desktop, I have and use 2 laptops, on for work and the other for personal use. I use this drive for Time Machine backups and archiving my downloads folders. I always set up my external drives for us on a Mac. That process is quick! Now, this drive isn’t speedy if you are transferring terabytes of data to it? But when doing off loading and Time Machine backups, this drive does the job! If I fill this drive up before the end of the year? I will purchase another, organize the files by month and year. Portability is great, as long as you purchase a hard case for this product! I have MVME SSD drives I use for traveling with.

Looks and Feels premium, got it in sale, good for backing up memories. The space available is 3.6 TB.I was going for SSD but somehow was saved as SSDs are not meant for long term storage, if not powered for long time like a year or so, can wipe out/erased data. HDDs are best for long term storage. Also a lot cheaper. Went with this Seagate variant as I wanted type-c cable, is more convenient for my windows and mac laptop. This variant is made up of recyclable stuff, hence is bit highly priced. You can go with One touch or Expansion variants as well, they are bit cheaper. One more reason to go with this was because most of the latest reviews about the One touch or Expansion drives were pretty negative, and there is no replacement/return from Amazon. You have to run to service center, that too they may give you a refurbished one as described in one of the reviews.I went with Seagate because I had another seagate 2 TB HDD which I bought in 2015, around 10 years have passed still working as new. So trust this brand.The write speeds when I was copying from 1 HDD to another was around 70-75 MBPS on an average while copying from Laptop was about 120-130 MBPS, so works for me. No need for any faster speeds.This one works with Mac and windows, comes with ExFAT file system.This one is bit thicker and is bit heavy. Need to be careful with it. 0.9 inch thick, hence finding a case for it would be tricky. Just a tip, the case you buy for this should be at least 4 cm think otherwise the drive and the connecting cable will press against each other. I bought a new Aircase for this, it somehow got closed but the wire was pressing against the drive, thankfully my previous case for old 2TB HDD was thick enough, so kept the new drive in it, and the old one in new case.A seagate application is available to install, once you follow the instructions provided in the PDFs already saved in drive. The app detects and provides various functionalities to do with the drive, like locking etc. Also helps in ejecting the drive safely. Nice interface.The wire provided is USB 3.2 Type C cable, good quality, thick.One issue which I’ve encountered with this external hard disk is that during a data transfer of about 250 GB from my old drive to the new one, I noticed strong internal movement when I touched the drive, which felt unusual and bit concerning.All in all happy with the purchase, hope this works long enough like it’s predecessor which I have.
