Works with Windows 11 and shows up as an audio source on taskbar. Great product!
This adapter works great on a Microsoft computer. I can confirm that it works as intended on windows 11, and when it is plugged in, the device will automatically show up as an audio source in the audio drop down menu of the taskbar, without having to install anything. Great for adding another way to plug in a headset/mic or a set of speakers with 3.5mm output. The audio quality is surprisingly good as well.

Great USB sound adapter for the price
I love these things. I have a few of them.. this particular one and a few older ones. They work great, sound ok, especially for the price, and are plug and play anywhere.

Affordable and Convenient Audio Solution for Everyday Use
The Sabrent USB External Stereo Sound Adapter (AU-MMSA) is a compact and budget-friendly device that offers a straightforward solution for adding audio input and output capabilities to computers lacking a built-in sound card or with malfunctioning audio ports. Its plug-and-play functionality requires no additional drivers, making it compatible with various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux .In terms of performance, the adapter delivers satisfactory audio quality suitable for everyday tasks such as video conferencing, voice calls, and casual music listening. However, users seeking high-fidelity audio for professional applications may find its capabilities limited. Some users have reported occasional issues with USB connectivity, such as the device disconnecting or losing signal .Pros:Easy to install with no drivers required.Compatible with multiple operating systems.Compact and portable design.Affordable price point.Cons:Audio quality may not meet the standards of audiophiles or professional users.Potential for occasional USB connection issues. Conclusion:The Sabrent AU-MMSA is a practical choice for users needing a quick and inexpensive way to add or replace audio ports on their computers. While it may not satisfy the demands of high-end audio enthusiasts, it performs reliably for general use and offers excellent value for its price.

Works well but not durable enough
I bought this for my son’s HyperX Cloud Alpha headset which uses the 3.5mm connectors, and we’re preferring to use the USB port on his computers since he takes it back and forth all the time from notebook to desktop and the desktop has difficult to reach audio ports.Sound quality with that headset is excellent. The volume is good and it sounds great. We compared to direct analog connection through the 3.5mm ports and there wasn’t much difference. Also, it seems to be coming through in full stereo as it should. No issue here with it playing in mono as some have noted. I suspect that YMMV and that all of these things will depend on the headset you’re using with it. Seems like a bit of a gamble still, though, if there is a chance you could buy this interface and have only mono sound or low volume or whatever. We had good luck for it to work with this headset. I cannot deduct a star for what “might” happen with others because I didn’t experience that. Had I, though, I would have rated it poorly as others have done.My one complaint, which is why I deducted a star, is that he’s only used the headset for 3 months and the adapter has already broken. When he’s using the notebook, he’s often reclining on a bed with the computer on his lap, and no doubt there is tension being put on the adapter from the blanket underneath or whatever, because some bending right where the metal sleeve that goes into the USB port meets the plastic body of the adapter is what broke it. You can see that the metal part is angled relative to the plastic, and it’s worked itself to be quite loose. Electronics inside must have also been stressed. While some might say “be more careful and don’t put stress on the plug”, I would suggest that it isn’t impossible to build a connector like this so that this potential stress point is reinforced better and resistant to that kind of stress, so it certainly could be built to prevent that from happening.Could we expect such a higher quality construction from an $8 piece, though, when a lot of the others cost more than $8? Probably not. That’s why I only docked it a single star instead of knocking off 2 or 3 stars. It is hard to expect a highly durable high quality part for the $8. Still, I do expect at least more durability than to get only 3 months out of it. I have bought a replacement but if the replacement also only lasts a few months, I suppose I’ll spend more on the next one and try another brand. I don’t intend to buy another of these every few months.

Works without drivers in Windows and Linux
This is perfect for those that may have a PC without a 3.5mm jack, or need to also have a mic input. Sound quality was just fine even at loud levels, I’ve never used the mic input so cannot speak to that. This was cheap and works really well! No software was needed as the device just plugged and played in windows, and even worked in Ubuntu Server Linux without any drivers needed.

    Works, but “random” audio pops
When it is in use, it works great. When volume on audio device driver is set to mute, it makes loud pops when there would be sound.Example:First, turn audio to a reasonable volume and start a video on YouTube. Sound is great. Now set device volume to mute in the audio settings next to the clock in Windows. Open a webpage like Yahoo or others and scroll down until an ad with sound starts. You will get a loud pops from the speakers. When the ad stops, it makes another pop. If volume is not muted there is no pop.

Ottimo! Collegato all’istante. Nessun software richiesto.
