Working from home and need more screen work space? This portable monitor is for you!
This extra side screen is going to make my life much better when working from home on my work laptop. I have a nice setup on my home desktop computer that I have no interest in pulling apart to provide an extra screen for my work laptop. The screen came in an anti-static bag and had a USB-C to USB-C, a USB-C to USB-A and an hdmi to hdmi-mini cable included. This is my first experience with a mini-hdmi cable. I’ve worked with dp-mini cables a lot, but not the hdmi mini. I have to say I’m impressed with how tightly it fits in the port on the portable monitor. You can either connect a USB-A power brick or a USB-C power brick to the cable and patch it into one of the two USB-C ports on the monitor. There is a power button, an audio 3.5mm auxilliary port, volume up and down buttons; the mini hdmi port and the two USB-C ports.There is a stand that folds into the housing that will allow you to either set up the extra screen horizontal or vertical depending on space necessities and preference. While the stand works well, it can be a little flimsy due to the size of the screen and how thin the stand is required to be in order to keep a low profile for the screen overall. Just be careful not push down too hard on the monitor if you have the stand extended and you need to patch in a cable in one of the ports on the side.I was able to duplicate and/or extend the side monitor from my laptop once I had it powered on and connected via mini hdmi. I in no way expect anything more than what this portable monitor is capable of, but I do have to say that it responded well to everything I tested it with. Knowing there are limits, I certainly wouldn’t run high-end games on it, but it is going to be a game changer when I need to work from home on my work laptop.

I remove one star when sellers charge Amazon Vine reviewers more than they charged normal customers.With that said, while I have only had the opportunity to use this once due to being very busy right now, the one time I used it it worked very well. The picture was crisp and clear as expected. The screen size is very nice to be using for a portable scenario or in bed if that is what you wish. It is extremely lightweight. I am shocked by how light it is. It’s plenty bright it seems durable. The only thing that I did find unexpected and that is on me is I did have to use a second cord to charge it up versus it running off of my phone. But that’s fine. Overall, I think it’s a great value and a great idea for people who need a larger monitor that is easily transportable. The size is awesome to watch movies on in such an environment. And it showed my entire phone screen very easily. I can think of many uses for this. I also like that it has a stand on the back. While I did not use that I’m going to take a photo of it using it because it’s extremely useful and it allows you to watch it both from a horizontal or portrait and a vertical or landscape position.

I got this in the mail today and was very eager to give it a shot. As an avid PC user I won’t believe your experience could be made any worse by introducing another monitor, and this solves the odd situation of having to use a laptop on the go without a dock and multiple monitors to connect to.I love that when you use it with USB-C it can both power AND send video signal, so you only need to use a separate power cord if you use the HDMI adapter.The screen is very light, and the kickstand is very stable at every available angle. It has a sort of ratcheting click when you turn it which is reassuring, and it connected instantly to my laptop without hassle.I also have a Samsung phone and have been able to tinker with Samsung Dex while on the go, though have not worked out a charging situation during this. I have a hunch you may be able to plug the monitor into an outlet while connected to your phone and it MIGHT charge through, though I have not tried this yet.Lastly, I’ve been to l collecting DVDs again and exhuming my old gaming consoles from storage as of late and am excited to try this screen with some retro consoles or a DVD player, though I still need to find some adapters in order to connect it to such devices as they are from before the widespread use of HDMI.I also appreciate the four threaded connectors on the back of this monitor that allow you to hook it to a monitor stand. Even if the kickstand goes out over time this will allow for it’s continued use, and even without that concern is a useful feature to have for desks with less space.
