Approachable and Practical
This is a very approachable, straight-forward book on the subject of building confidence, taking ownership of your life and what you want from it, and making others’ opinions of you, perceived or real, less influential in how you view yourself. There’s a lot here and the authors’ passion about the subjects and personal experiences come through often. I really appreciated how well organized the book is written. There are frequent reminders and references to past or future chapters that expand on topics as you read so you can quickly go back or go forward to dive deeper into a particular idea. Another big value here is the “Do it Now” sections for each topic. These are very practical applications and exercises that help take the concepts from ideas to reality. And there are several for each step, so whether one works for you or doesn’t, there are plenty of useful exercises to try and see which are most effective. While the book is written with a young adult audience in mind, it certainly still applies and has use for anyone that struggles in areas of confidence like worrying too much about what others think (they’re probably not thinking about you anyway), being a people pleaser, or feeling like a victim with little autonomy over your life. I also think this book can be helpful to parents of young adults who lack confidence in themselves, may be struggling to take the next step, or are afraid to fail. I definitely believe understanding many of these topics would have been really helpful when I was younger, but as a middle-aged man there is still a lot of useful insight and application in this book. It’s easy to read and I would recommend to anyone interested in the subject of building confidence.

Easy to Read with Good Action Steps
If you want another copycat, “You have to do it first to be confident” book, then this is not the book you want. While the information about how to gain confidence doesn’t change much, how it is presented matters. And this book delivers.I appreciated how the authors pulled from different areas of life, psychology, philosophy, current events and everything in between to support their information. The easy to read case studies were very helpful as a walk through on the specific topic. There were super helpful tips at the end of each section on how to build your confidence and be an adult. Often with quippy names that are easy to remember.Overall, this book stands out in the confidence space as a must read.

Great Read & Sound Advice!!
Most of us can relate to the thought that adulting in today’s environment is difficult. If you overthink, over analyze, worry what others think, allow anxiety and fear to control your decisions to do something and move forward in life, then this book can help you identify the problem, build confidence and allow you to let go of the fear. The only one thinking about what is going on in our own mind, the only one who can overcome what is holding ourselves back, essentially what is standing in our way is us! We deserve to start thinking better of ourselves and our abilities. With these tools, adulting will be a bit easier.I enjoyed the easy to follow steps provided in each section that expanded on how to properly address each chapter. The authors did an incredible job creating the content for this book. I felt as if I was listening to a wise friend give me the cold hard truth in the best way possible so there was no confusion as to what I should do next.Fantastic instructions are throughout these pages. The authors’ enthusiasm for the content is contagious and leaves you feeling excited to boost your confidence and clear out any negative thoughts blocking you from putting yourself out there.

Great start for building confidence, lots of good tips and tools
I kind of thought this would be like a Medium article where the main content was generalized and unhelpful or directly pulled from other sources, but I was pleasantly surprised. It has a conversational tone which fits the topic, kind of like a built-in life coach, and while there were a few too many anecdotes, I think this book will be really helpful for people who are struggling with confidence.

The book was a fast read and a great motivator. It helps you figure out things that weigh you down and make you question your self-esteem. The book continues to reiterate how one can let go of the self doubt and develop both confidence and competence in life. It also helps you focus on the big picture — You, Your Goals and Your Happiness.
