    Very nice for the price.
So far, so good. I had not heard of this brand before, but I am happy with them. Seems like a decent machine. My 15 year old wanted to be able to play some online games and so far she has not had complaints with speed or memory.

Nice laptop that runs Linux Mint very well.
This is a nice laptop for the money. I hadn’t heard of this brand but I took a chance on it and I am glad I did. It seems to be well made. When I got the PC I copied the Win 11 OS to a backup drive, wiped the SSD, loaded a fresh copy of Linux Mint, used Aptik to copy my data from my old PC that was having issues and restored data to this new PC and it has been running like a champ for two weeks now. A couple points. of interest. There is not two SSD slots available so you can’t have two OS’s on different SSDs. I do miss the enter key on the key pad. Sound gets loud but is tinny. The battery lasts about 3.5 to 4 hours for web browsing and spread sheets. It is pretty light weight at under 4 lbs. Overall nice unit for a Linux Mint build.

An Incredible Value from an American Company
This laptop has everything I’ve ever wanted in a laptop. 17″ screen, a full keyboard with a number pad, and a lightweight (for it’s size) and slim form factor. I loaded Archcraft Linux onto it the moment I open the box, which went as smoothly as expected, and everything works great. The speakers are horrible, and the keyboard isn’t the greatest, but with some external speakers and an actual keyboard, using this machine is an outstanding experience. It’s very quiet, runs fast, and the screen is great. Battery life seems great, too, but I’m coming from a 13 year old gaming laptop that got 30 minutes of battery on a good day, so I can’t really compare it to anything modern. Definitely recommend giving this laptop a shot if you need one right away. It’s not for gaming, given it’s integrated GPU, but perfect for productivity, especially if you’re spreadsheeting loads of numbers like I am. Full marks, for sure.

    Great overall with some peccadillos
Nimo 17.3 reviewFirst off, let me say that this NIMO 17.3 Gaming-Laptop Ryzen 9 8945HS is great, especially for the price point. I never thought I could get a Ryzen 9 processor with AMD Adrenalin and Radeon 780 graphics for less than a $1000. I’ve had it for about a month and it operates extremely well and is quite good looking, too. During the month, I made a virtual clone from my 5-year-old Lenovo 17.3 Ideapad 3 I7-10510U in the Nimo 17.3 and have run them side by side and interchangeably for comparison. They are both suitable for my garden-variety needs and moving from one to the next has been seamless. The Nimo 17.3 is much faster and has better graphics in terms of color and definition. Is the Nimo 17.3 a worthy upgrade to the Lenovo 17.3? Yes, definitely, especially with the additional features like the neural processor, backlit keyboard and fingerprint reader that work reliably so far.Between the two laptops there are small differences in design and features worth noting:Lenovo 17.3 Pros:The surface area for the palms of my hands when typing is bigger, providing more resting area on a smooth, good quality surface. By comparison, the Nimo 17.3 surface is smaller and rougher in finish with an unnecessarily large touchpad. The Lenovo 17.3 touchpad is 33 percent smaller and doesn’t get in the way when typing. I have never had to disable it (or any other laptop touchpad for that matter), whereas I always disable the touchpad on the Nimo 17.3 (by hitting F5) to avoid errant commands from the palm of my hands. This is the most annoying feature of the Nimo 17.3. I have been experimenting with a cardboard shield over the surface where I put my palms and covering up one third of the touchpad and it, apparently, resolves the issue (note to the designers). The Lenovo 17.3 touchpad responds well to my commands when set to the most sensitive response. The Nimo 17.3, under the same sensitivity setting, sometimes works well and sometimes misses my command forcing me to move to other areas of the touchpad and repeat. I think even resting my hands of the outer surface can trigger an unintended command. Again, the cardboard shield on the surface helps resolve the issue. I will putting a clear vinyl mat there as a long-term solution.Lenovo 17.3 offers a Lenovo support app for software and system upgrades and a link or bridge for driver support. It’s a nice support feature. I have no doubt that Nimo 17.3 support could help me if needed from their website though that requires extra steps as it is not built into the software. The Lenovo 17.3 speakers offer a better range of mid-tones and bass and have Dolby included for free. The Nimo 17.3 sounds tinny by comparison emphasizing treble. Both Laptops really benefit from an external soundbar. The camera resolution is the same with both laptops, which is to say nothing special. Better to use an external camera for meetings. The Lenovo 17.3 LED power light is dimmer and unobtrusive at night when trying to sleep. The Nimo 17.3 is annoyingly bright by comparison.Nimo 17.3 Pros:Beyond all the great AMD processing and graphic power already mentioned, the back-lit keyboard is impressive as it only lights up when in use. The keyboard is fluid with the right amount of feel and noiseless response. The fingerprint reader is a time saver and provides me 2-step security features with ease. The neural processor also prepares me now for AI features and for the near future. The Nimo 17.3 maintains a low temperature reading around 100-105 degrees Fahrenheit and is always quiet. I am not a gamer so I can’t speak to any performance in that regard. The type-c fast charging power adapter is a great asset for the laptop and other accessories like my android phone. The wireless adapter/network and Bluetooth work really well and comparably to the Lenovo 17.3.Unknown: The actual amount of drainage on the battery over time. The Lenovo I7 10510U operates at 10-25 watts while the Nimo Ryzen 9 8945HS is 35-54 watts. The Nimo 17.3 battery is rated for 53-watt hours. I have yet to see what that translates into for hours of daily use but the fast charger is reassuring.

    Surprised, Easy and Impressed
Here are my Pros on this N154B.Packaging – excellentUnboxing – easyConnecting power – easyPower on – followed by wifi setup/Windows setup/Windows updatesKeyboard – love it, no bounce and very solid clicksTouchpad – nice and big and the fingerprint is tucked nicely in cornerPorts – it has ample but a usb-c adapter makes it even more robustPerformance – as expected and even better than anticipatedHere are my Cons on this N154B.Enter key – only has one, my previous had a 2nd on far lower right cornerConclusion – For me it checks all the boxes. Product quality is great. Very easy to use. I love the dark blue color. Backlit keyboard is a plus. And the performance is very good. (I am not a gamer). Smallish hard drive – lots of win11 bloat (as expected)
Nice machine – fast and smooth on wifi. took a couple hours to remove the win11 bloat package but once that was gone it was a good machine. Hard drive is small so it would need an additional drive attached eventually. Was gifted a similar machine so returned this one. Nice work Nimo – you should be proud.
