In 2021, I reviewed a popular, but disappointing Acer Aspire 5 (A515-56-36UT, 2021) slim 15.6″ laptop. Performance was quite good for its price tag, but its washed-out, dull display drove me crazy. Then came along the 14″ Lenovo IdeaPad 3 (14IIL05/81WD, 2021) with an older processor but a superior screen. While both were excellent for general-purpose use, they often struggled with anything beyond simple office tasks and web browsing.Four year later, the Lenovo I got for my mother-in-law has started to considerably slow down, even after upgrading the amount of memory. Time for another budget laptop that will give her the significant performance boost I expect her to get from the MomentPlus’ AMD Ryzen 5 3550H process.I have been in the professional IT industry for over 18 years and tinker with technology all the time for both work and fun. I am an enthusiast through-and-through who likes to explore the latest in the industry. My extensive experience with Android, Apple iOS, and Windows phones and tablets, along with my previous reviews of the Lenovo and Acer laptops, will lend a helping hand in understanding the distinct advantage this machine holds.IN A NUTSHELLThis MomentPlus 16″ laptop with the AMD Ryzen 5 3550H processor (a 4-core, 8-thread chip) is a solid, mid-range performer capable of handling office work, internet browsing, and media consumption with ease. Crucially, its multi-core performance means it excels at heavy multitasking, basic photo editing, and entry-level gaming, areas where the 4-year-old Lenovo and Acer budget machines simply cannot compete. In fact, for giggles, I went ahead and benchmarked this laptop against the Lenovo: it ran 60-90% faster in processing speed and about 70% in graphics power (thanks to the Radeon Vega 8 integrated GPU)! What a difference that 4 years can make…The biggest differentiator is the processor — the brain of the computer. While the Intel Core i3-1005G1 (Lenovo) and Core i3-1115G4 (Acer) are both dual-core, four-thread chips, the AMD Ryzen 5 3550H is a quad-core, eight-thread processor.PERFORMANCEOffice Work/Browsing: As expected, it handles these tasks effortlessly, but with the added benefit of being able to run numerous browser tabs and background applications without slowdown – something the 4GB entry-level laptops struggled with.Gaming: Thanks to its beefier processor and integrated Vega 8 graphics, the MomentPlus is a genuine entry-level gaming machine, capable of playing titles like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Fortnite at higher settings and framerates than the competing Intel UHD Graphics.CONCLUSIONThe Lenovo and Acer were mostly reliable, entry-level, no-frills computers. The MomentPlus is a lot more powerful, comparatively speaking because of its newer, beefier processor, integrated graphics, larger screen, and out-of-the-box 16GB RAM/512GB NVMe configuration.

Pretty fast laptop
Fast reliable laptop good for daily usage and no lags. I’m pretty pleased with it. The screen size is ideal, not too large or too little, and the image is sharp and clear. It’s light enough to take around the house or throw in my purse without feeling too cumbersome. What I enjoy the most is how well it runs. It boots up swiftly, opens apps rapidly, and can manage many tabs without slowing down. The battery life has also been unexpectedly good, which is a big advantage considering I loathe being stuck next to a charger all day. Overall, it’s an excellent laptop for its price. I use it for work and video chats, and it performs everything extremely well.Processor: Intel Alder Lake N95 (4C/4T, up to 3.4 GHz) The N95 is a low-power quad-core chip; it’s not as fast as high-end Core i5/i7 CPUs, but it’s capable for everyday tasks (web browsing, office work, media). With integrated Intel UHD Graphics, only light gaming / older titles, or just productivity Memory & Storage: 16 GB DDR4 + 512 GB NVMe SSD 16 GB RAM is very good for multitasking, having many browser tabs open, Office apps, etc. 512 GB NVMe SSD gives you fast booting and load times good balance of speed and capacity. Display: “1080P Screen” A Full HD (1920×1080) screen is standard and works well for daily use, media, work, and school. Because the spec says 16″, the larger display is helpful for more screen real estate multitasking, documents. Other Features: Backlit Keyboard, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Webcam Backlit keyboard is nice for working in low-light. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support means good connectivity.

Well worth it, forget spending hundreds just for a name!
Very high quality with all the important bells and whistles without going bankrupt! Still figuring it out, but lots of great surprises!

I have had two very expensive laptops which gave me endless problems (hardware not software). This was almost a third cheaper but does what I need (am writing this review on it now). Very happy with it.
