They’ve set the bar high for me
Ya know….I was real skeptical about getting this phone, biggest worry was if T-Mobile and Verizon (Tello and Visible) going to work. I can confirm they both work and work well. RCS chats work like they should. No it didn’t work out the box and I had to input a special code in the dialer and turn of 2g to get everything working properly. This phone has features that aren’t even talked about. Like the ability to record calls in Android 15 which if you know like I know, google disabled that ability. Battery life is an easy 3 day affair with decent usage. frankly….this phone checks all the boxes I’ve ever wanted in a phone. If I were being nit picky I wish it had a thermal camera like other rugged phones and better camera quality overall, but other than that. this is a solid piece of kit. It is big, it is heavy…but unlike other phones like this…it’s the perfect sweet spot and I got use to it no problem. I come from a one plus 13r and Samsung s23+ for context. Since I’m writing this I may as well help anyone else who maybe interested in setting up service for it since I notice a few people returning the big brother tank 4 pro. To work with Verizon all you have to do is dial *#*#08#*#* change your IMEI & MEID from a phone you already have service with Verizon, then go to your sim settings and disable 2g and that’s pretty much it from what I remember. The info is out there if I missed anything. Also, The One plus 13r screen protector fits ok on the phone.

NO 71 band BEWARE! T-mobile using band 71 for future 5g and this phone doesnt have it.
Seller not messaging me back. Tmobile is basically building all of their new infrastructure or wtvr off of 71 -> n71. I missed that this phone didn’t have band 71 4g LTE, or n71 5g which, upon further review is the band tmobile is gravitating towards for 5g rural/highway/pretty much get ready to drop calls and lose connectivity when you step out of the city. And for a camping phone that’s ridiculous. Many reports of no refunds after sending phones back.

I picked up the 8849 Tank 4 because I wanted a phone I don’t have to baby — something I can take outdoors, drop on a trail, get rained on, or use for work without constantly worrying about damaging it. On paper the feature list almost feels like a dare: a built-in projector, a massive AMOLED display, a camping light bright enough to double as a real flashlight, and a battery that borders on absurd. After spending time with it, this is easily one of the more interesting devices I’ve used in years.Right out of the box, the build gives off that “industrial tool” energy. It’s chunky, heavy, and unapologetically rugged — the opposite of sleek. You pick it up and instantly know this thing is built to be dropped, scraped, and shoved into a backpack without hesitation. It’s not trying to be a fashion accessory. It’s trying to survive whatever ridiculous situation you throw at it.The projector ended up being more useful than I expected. It auto-focuses, adjusts the angle, and throws a surprisingly clear 720p image. It’s not trying to replace a home theater, but for watching something in a tent, projecting a YouTube video on a wall, or showing a quick doc to someone, it works better than a “phone with a projector” has any right to.The AMOLED display looks sharp and bright. Even in direct sunlight, I can still read it without squinting, and the 120Hz refresh rate makes everything feel smooth and fluid.Performance has been snappy. The generous RAM allocation keeps everything running without random app reloads, and the internal storage is big enough that it feels like you’ll run out of things to store before you run out of space.The battery is the star of the show. At 11,600mAh, this thing lasts. I can use it heavily for days without charging, and when it finally needs power, the 120W fast charging is legitimately fast. The ability to reverse-charge other devices is something I didn’t expect to use as much as I do — it turns the phone into a backup power bank when you’re outdoors or traveling.The built-in camping light is almost comically bright. It can easily replace a standalone flashlight for short trips or backpacking, and the warning-light mode is a great safety touch.The camera system is better than I anticipated. The main sensor produces sharp images, and the night vision camera actually works, especially for outdoor shots in low light. It’s not trying to compete with flagships, but for a rugged device, the camera performance is impressive.Sound quality won’t blow you away, but it’s very good for a phone speaker — clear enough for videos and loud enough to hear outdoors without distortion. Just note that this phone is clearly optimized for T-Mobile and Verizon. Anyone on a different network should double-check compatibility.Living with this phone is a distinct experience. It’s not sleek or refined, but it’s extremely capable. It feels like carrying a multi-tool that happens to also be a smartphone. The freedom of not worrying about drops, water, cold, or battery life is honestly refreshing.If you want something lightweight and elegant, look elsewhere. But if you want a phone that feels like it could survive a mild apocalypse, light your campsite, power your other devices, and still project a movie on a wall afterward, this one absolutely delivers on that kind of chaos-ready usefulness.

Impressive!
The 8849 Tank 4 Rugged Smartphone is easy to set up, as well as use, and it works great. It runs fast, has excellent resolution, takes wonderful photos/videos, and has a very long lasting battery life. This phone is has a projector built-in to it. It’s strong, durable, and waterproof, but also bulky, and heavy (like carrying around a small brick). I had the previous version of this phone, so I was already used to it’s size, and weight though. I like this version better than the last too. Overall, I think it’s very well made, well designed, and high quality – a bit on the expensive side, but worth it if you have a tendency to be hard on phones.

Did not like the size of the phone, amount of noise cooling fan makes vs volume of speaker, or the faulty software for focusing the projector.Really dislike the fact that I returned the item within the grace period offered and have yet to receive a refund in spite of a months time having elapsed. Would not recommend this device or seller to anyone
