    On the spot!
    I cannot agree more with the author that everything starts from the mind and the heart. Instead of jumping into developing life skills, this book goes straight to the root. Dealing with the mind is hard stuff, but this is so important. I will let my son read this, too. Practical questions and tasks at the end of this book are helping to reflect the theoretical part. 100% recommend!

    A great book to motivate teens
    This book is a great guide for teens and young adults to get their act together and become more motivated. The book is full of insightful tips and tools that really help with setting goals and making concrete change. Being a teen is really hard and life can feel messy and impossible. But I felt that the book’s writing is both direct and compassionate, letting teens know they’re not alone and helping them on this weird journey called life. A great read.

    Fantastic, but needs a teen tweak!
    I would 💯% read this book as an adult. I would even recommend it to another adult. However, before a teen ever gets to the important things in Thompson’s book, they must read the painful experiences of a father. 30+ pages doesn’t sound like a lot, but (no matter the type of book) it’s important to get students to buy-in as early as possible.It’s a layout issue. If Thompson had started with his time as an young, elite athlete to introduced the principles, followed by chapters that begin with the experiences of teens who utilize them in their businesses, careers, illness, etc.? Then he could have told them how the skills even led to successfully navigating his professional career and illness. By then, they would have hung on every line.The same can be said of individual chapters beginning with experiences students would have a more difficult time relating to as a teen, instead of the more relatable ones included later on. As a teacher, I might have to talk my student into this one, but plan to tell all my friends to read it themselves!!!

    I really like how this books speaks to teens, being a mother of a 15 year old I think approach is everything. The books speaks abou how their mindset affects their choices, their future, and their well-being overall, which I know most teens don’t have the capability to processs. It slso addresses the best way for teens to manage their emotions, build better habits, and stay focused. Its simply breaks down things that they use everyday and help with building confidence and handling stress. Its agood read for teens, and parents can use it as a guide to help their children in different areas.

    Got this book for my cousin — teenager, always says school “teaches facts, not life stuff.” This book felt like someone finally listened. It doesn’t preach. It just lays out simple steps: habits, mindset, choices. Some chapters hit harder than others — made him pause, even scratch his head. Could tell he was thinking. It’s not magic, it won’t turn you into some genius overnight. But if you’re a teen trying to figure out who you are, what you want, and how to stay awake for it — this might help.
