Fantastic laptop and good value
Alienware seems to really gotten their act together recently. This laptop is beautiful, has a great high-quality feel to all the materials including the keyboard, and yet it’s actually a pretty good value given the performance specs. The only thing I can possibly complain about is the screen isn’t the highest quality. It’s got great frame rate, and nice color, but the contrast isn’t great, and the uniformity of blacks is pretty poor. I really wish Alienware would offer an OLED screen on what is supposed to be their flagship laptop, but that’s only a minor complaint. I’d certainly be happy to pay more to get a better screen, but at this price point the screen quality is acceptable. The thermals are much improved over the prior generation. There’s only so much they can do because they insist on using Intel processors, but they’ve done a nice job with the cooling on this one. Unless you’re playing a game you won’t even notice the fan, and when you are it’s not nearly as loud as the prior generation, and the laptop itself doesn’t get as hot.Lastly, the performance: absolutely amazing for a laptop. Especially at this price. I could run Forza 5 at the highest settings and hit 240 frames a second. Just fantastic performance for something you can take with you.

A great upgrade over older Alienwares
Works as expected, looks slick, and runs cool, going from a X15R2 to this is a night and day difference, the 5080 is leagues ahead of the 3070ti and having the ability to change ram and the option to have 3 ssds is so nice. The cpu in this is blazing fast as well, it’s a little overpriced at 3k plus but I won’t have buyers remose over this purchase.

Documented defect + evasive seller behavior + unresolved refund
Laptop arrived defective out of the box: critical system errors, shutdown cycles, and instability despite resets. There was no functional usage period — it was defective from day one.The seller’s posted return terms required contacting them, but no contact method was provided, resulting in days of delay. When finally reached through Amazon messaging, seller denied the defect despite evidence, delayed communication, and refused to acknowledge a legitimate DOA return.Amazon ultimately intervened and authorized the return. As of this review, my refund is still pending.I have confidence Amazon will enforce it, but the fact that intervention was required is concerning.Additional concern:This listing repeatedly displays different seller names. It appears the same business entity may be operating under multiple Amazon storefront identities, which would prevent buyers from making informed decisions about reputation and accountability.Based on the defective product, obstructive response, and shifting seller identity behavior,I strongly advise buyers to avoid third-party sellers on this listing entirely and purchase directly from Amazon or the manufacturer instead.

Laptop wasn’t QUITE as listed
The laptop is fine, certainly fast in booting and operation, and plays high demanding graphics games great, BUT, the listing reads “2TB NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen5 SSD”, and as it turns out, the SSD is a less valuable and less performative Gen4 so that part sucked. Amazon made it somewhat right with a slight refund though… In order to get a certain functionality out of the system, per Dell, I had to reset/reload from the factory image to a clean run of the operating system, reload all the drivers and such, and then upgraded “Windows 11 Home” to “Pro” by tossing Microsoft $100… All in all, it was a good value for what I paid, but I would have preferred a smoother takeoff…

Love it.
Upgraded from the m18(2023), and I have to admit this is by far a much better design & much more powerful. Reason why I upgraded to this was because I had the RTX 4070 which only has 8GB of vram. (Nowadays you need 12gb or higher) Overall this was definitely a big upgrade, and well worth the purchase. My only concern not that it matters is this is a GEN4 not a Gen5 SSD, the description is incorrect*** GEN4 is for gamers***

Just solved the WiFi issue
This laptop is amazing, for both its excellent hardware and great challenges to users. The startup sound, the WiFi keeps slowing down to unusable speed, the sudden malfunctioning of keyboard and touchpad lights… It’s a fun and a challenge to use this laptop.

Area-51 Alienware, Laptop of the future!!!
I recently purchase this laptop, it was alway something I wanted but couldn’t purchase it. Thanks to the offered package deal Amazon afford me this dream became a reality! Hats off to amazon and the online chat team that made this happen, thanks very much for meeting your customers at the point of their need. Boy this laptop didn’t disappoint, I use it for work purposes and its a head turner for sure… the sheer speed of opening documents, working on multiple screens is mind blowing. Functionality is unmatched from all other laptops I have used, this laptop is running full system updates whilst working on powerpoint, word documents and have games running on the back ground. its durable engineering is amazing and the slimmer design on the 2025 Area-51 model make it easier for transporting. I recommend the Alienware 18″ Backpack

The Tank
Love this laptop! The 5080 is a beast at gaming. The 18in screen helps with use on the go or when you aren’t at a desk all the time. Recently took this on vacation and being able to play co-op games in the hotel was a blast. The cpu can get hot at times, but compared to prior models, it handles the heat amazingly well and was normally under 80ish degrees.

It was a used Laptop. (Amazon is the seller). This is not the first time this has happened. The Alienware was too loud and too heavy. It arrived September 1, 2025. I installed Windows 11.I attempted to register the Alienware laptop with Dell. The laptop was already registered online with Dell on July 2, 2025.Dell denied me ownership and the warranty; a one-year warranty is listed in the laptop’s online description.I returned the laptop on September 2nd because the system had no warranty. A full refund issued Sep 11 2025.
