LOVE it–what an upgrade from the previous kids kindle paperwhite!
I am beyond pleased with the Kindle Colorsoft for kids. At the end of last year I bought myself the newest kindle paperwhite signature and my daughter (then age 7.5) the older model of the kids paperwhite because I thought she would like it and the price was really great. Then the Colorsoft came out and I was waffling if I should have gotten that instead. But at that point, the reviews were making me nervous. When I saw that they came out with a colorsoft for kids that had the longer warranty, came with a case, AND was on sale–I knew I just had to try it.I’m so happy that I did. This is really a great device and honestly the color feature exceeded my expectations. I was ready for very muted colors, but honestly they are not that muted to me at all. It’s like reading a color comic page in the paper–which brings back a lot of nostalgia for me. My daughter (now 8.5) is really into graphic novels. We have a lot of physical books and borrow from the library, but honestly space is starting to be an issue and they just weren’t the same on the regular kindle paperwhite kids. When we turned this on yesterday–WOW–the graphic novels look amazing!! My daughter spent 30+ minutes reading without any prompting from me. It is also MUCH quicker than the other model kindle paperwhite kids that she has. Everything loaded so easily and I was able to set up my own account on the kindle in addition to her two amazon kids profiles (one for her tablet with different time limits and one for her kindle with unlimited time).The brightness is easy to adjust and it is really easy to read on. I haven’t fully tested the battery life, but I expect it to be pretty great because my new paperwhite lasts a month with hours of daily reading. I’m recommending this to all of my friends for either them or their children–this is a great model!!

Game Changer for Parents and Kids
As a parent to two young children (ages 5 and 3), this Kindle Colorsoft Kids has been a total game changer. I never realized how much easier bedtime reading could be until now. No more fumbling with physical books in the dark, balancing a phone light, or flipping pages awkwardly — this device eliminates all of that.The screen is fantastic. The colors and images look like real paper, not an overly bright or saturated OLED phone display — exactly what it’s supposed to be: paper-like, comfortable, and engaging for kids. My children love it.The Kids+ subscription is another huge win. There are countless books, including popular titles like Paw Patrol, that download almost instantly. We get through so many more stories this way compared to the old-fashioned method.I also wanted something I could use myself, and this works perfectly for that. It’s essentially the same model as the regular Colorsoft, but with the bonus of a case, a great warranty, and the Kids+ subscription. Setup was seamless — the device is tied to your Amazon account right out of the box. Creating a kids profile and linking the subscription takes just a minute, and switching between kids and adult profiles is quick and secure with a PIN.I’m blown away by how well this works for both my kids and me. Zero issues with the screen, great selection of content, and a very thoughtful design overall. Highly recommend — this is an awesome product.

Awesome birthday present for a tween
Perfect kindle for a tween who loves to read before bed. They love the size and case, battery lasts a very long time, and the touch screen looks great and is fast.We weren’t sure if the color was going to be worth it but they’re already reading graphic novels and picking out books in the Kindle Kids collection based on how cool the covers look in color.Overall, this was an excellent purchase and I’d highly recommend for any tween, teen, or adult who wants a convenient and fun way to read.

Great to encourage kids to read
Awesome product to read comics. My son loves it. Colors are washed out but thst gives a nice comic book feel. Should not be used for high quality photos like in an encyclopedia. Size and weight ate perfect. The kids edition comes with a high quality cover which is a great addition.

Not to shabby
Not to bad. The color is nice. It’s no magazine colors but it’s nice enough to read kid books and show pictures. My biggest complaint has to do with the search function it’s only for the kindle store and not your library. I have over 400 books. To find one that’s in the middle I just have to scroll through until I find it. If I search for it with the search function it will take me to kindle store then from there I have to find it in my library. Not a deal breaker but definitely annoying.

Great reading option for middle grade kids
This is my child’s first kindle. I have been an avid Kindle reader and have always wanted my child to also love reading. This is much more portable to bring especially when the child is a big graphic novel fan. I like the library that comes with Amazon Kids where my child is able to download books that interest her. Five stars for the product but only 3 stars for the Amazon Kids Library. The selection is quite common and mediocre. I’d prefer seeing more variety of books.Books download quickly but disappear from the library if you are on public WiFi for some reason.The button make page turning easy and my 10 year old has no issues using it without help from me.I like the battery life so far. It takes forever to have to charge again.In conclusion, if the library that comes with Amazon kids can be more diverse I’d be happy to keep a subscription. Also, it would be good to be able to send books in my library to the child’s kindle without having the child to access my entire library.

Great for graphic novels
Purchased for a voracious reader. They give it a 17/5 stars. Unfortunately that isn’t an option. Great response time, vivid colors. Great for reading graphic novels. Size is good for all ages – travels well.

Great ereader
This is has a bigger screen than the other Kindle I had but with the same feel and ease of use. I’m enjoying the light colors that are finally showcased. Covers are more vivid.
