Really solid docking station
I’ve been using this Anker 8-in-1 docking station for a little while now, and honestly, it’s been a great upgrade for my setup. The dual HDMI ports work perfectly with my two monitors, and both displays look sharp in 4K. Plug-and-play was super easy — my laptop recognized everything right away. The hub itself feels sturdy and well-made, and it doesn’t take up much space on my desk. I also like that it has all the essential ports I need, so I’m not constantly unplugging and replugging things. My only small complaints are that it gets a bit warm when I’m running both monitors for a long time, and I wish the USB ports were spaced out a little more. Not huge issues, but worth mentioning.Overall, if you want a simple, reliable docking station for dual monitors, this one is a great choice. I’m happy with it and would definitely recommend it.

VERSATILITY, FUNCTIONALITY, AND PRACTICALITY
I work from home and the company I work for provided the equipment, which includes this docking station. After using this for a couple of days, I purchased one for my personal laptop. This docking station is small, versatile, easy to use and to setup. The dual hdmi ports allow me to have a second monitor aside from the company provided one for a total of 3 screens, including the laptop screen. The dual usb ports are useful for adding other accessories such as a keyboard, mouse, webcam, thumb drive, etc. For those wanting a hardwired connection, there is an ethernet port located on one side of the docking station. Though I’ve not used them, there are slots for SD memory cards and micro sd cards.

Perfect gift to clear up wires!
Got this docking station for a friend who uses two Dell laptops and, at the time, had a pretty small desk – so cable management was a priority. This hub has been a lifesaver for dealing with all his dongles and makes it super easy to switch between his work and personal devices without needing two separate setups. It’s not a massive docking station, but with two HDMI ports and two USB ports, it’s one of the most affordable options out there with no fussing over the design. It’s compact and has been working well for him for about six months now without any speed or frying issues. That said, I did try plugging it into my Lenovo, and it struggled to connect. Not sure if that’s due to the age of my laptop or some compatibility issue, but worth keeping in mind.

Stopped working properly after less than a year of owning
Update: Anker offered a replacement or refund for the product. I’ve had many Anker products and this is the first to experience issues like this. Will likely replace it with the same or similar docking station from Anker. It worked really well initially. Generally running 2 monitors off of my laptop for work. It recently started flickering one of the monitor screens every 10 or 20 minutes which wasn’t a huge deal. It now has issues supporting 2 screens and has really weird behavior that sometimes requires troubleshooting to get it going again. Expected it to work longer than it has

Updated review: The replacement works perfectly!
If you want a non-interrupted work/game session, look for something else! I only have a couple of 27” monitors, a laptop and mouse/keyboard combo connected to this docking station and it the monitors keep disconnecting every couple of minutes, guess the power supply is not good enough! Until I order a better one, I connected the charger directly to my laptop.Don’t cheap out and go for something more reliable!Update: So Anker reached out and offered either a full refund or give them another chance and try out the replacement, and they immediately sent another one that works just perfectly without disconnection issues like before! Anker stood behind their product and I was not disappointed! This hub is on the cheaper side but definitely works perfectly for my work setup of dual 27” monitors.I would definitely recommend it!

Easy way to connect 2 monitors to laptop
I bought this to connect 2 monitors to my laptop, it works great. Initially I bought a different device that only let me connect 1 monitor, but I returned that and instead got this for 2 monitors. Connects to a USBC port, so as long as you have a few of those this should also work for you. The absolute only thing I’m not thrilled about with this device is the cord is pretty short, so I’m pretty limited as to where my laptop can sit on my desk. It seems like most of this type of device – for some reason – come with a really short cord, so that’s nothing unique about this one.Note there are various negative comments about not working in certain situations, however for me it’s perfect. I keep my laptop plugged in to power while working, by using my laptop cord that has one end in a USBC port, the other end in an outlet. I only use this hub to connect to a different USBC port in my laptop, with the 2 monitors plugged into the hub’s 2 HDMI ports. The monitors themselves are plugged separately into power, too.So depending on your needs, this might work well for you, as well.

Perfect on Windows, not so much on Mac
I used this for about 5 months on a Windows machine and it worked great. I was able to use both HDMI ports and my laptop to have three fully functioning screens, as well as the USB ports for my wireless mouse/keyboard and my webcam.I switched to a Mac about 4 months ago, and the results have been much more inconsistent. I know I can’t use both HDMI ports to have three screens as that is not supported on my MacBook Air M3. I have closed the lid on my laptop, used one HDMI port (plus the other two USB ports), and then used an adaptor to connect my third monitor directly to my MacBook. The monitor that’s plugged into the hub is constantly turning off or blacking out for a few seconds at a time, interrupting video calls and screen shares and just being a general annoyance. Nothing I’ve done has helped – I swapped the monitors that were plugged in to see if it was the monitor, I bought new HDMI cables in case what I had was faulty. I even connected my MacBook charger to the hub to see if additional power could fix the problem. No dice.

Really good. Sadly my Dell uses a barrel power connector, but the hub runs two monitors, usb devices and network connection with aplomb

So far, it’s been a great product. It’s practical, works out of the box and just makes sense to have.

The Anker 553 USB-C Hub has been an absolute game-changer for me. As someone who relies heavily on a variety of peripherals and external displays, this 8-in-1 USB C dock is perfect for my needs.First off, the dual 4K HDMI ports are incredible. I can effortlessly connect two 4K monitors, which has significantly boosted my productivity and made multitasking a breeze. The video quality is crystal clear, and there’s no lag or interference. The additional ports are just as impressive. The USB-C to USB adapter allows me to connect all my essential devices like my keyboard, mouse, and external hard drives without any issues. The transfer speeds are fast and reliable, which is crucial for my work. The 1 Gbps Ethernet port is another fantastic feature. It provides a stable and fast internet connection, which is a huge upgrade from relying on Wi-Fi. This has been especially beneficial for video calls and large file uploads. What really stands out is the hub’s build quality and design. It’s compact and sleek, making it easy to carry around with my laptop. The materials feel premium and durable, which gives me confidence in its longevity. In summary, the Anker 553 USB-C Hub is perfect for anyone needing a reliable, high-performance docking solution. It has made my workflow more efficient and streamlined, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance. Highly recommended!

This is my replacement hub for the Lention that stopped working after 18 months. I had rated that product 5 Star and it was truly great product till one day it decided not to deliver power from the PD port to laptop. Without power supply passing through, it was useless and I scrapped it. Then started my search for a new hub – the biggest challenge though how to identify one that combines good build quality and functionality with longevity. So, I decided to go with known non-chinese brands and Anker came top on the list. So far, the hub is working like a charm, just like Lention. I am hoping that this will last for at least 3 years to justify the price premium. One small gripe is that the USC C cable attached to the hub is too short (15 Cms, I guess). I keep my laptop in a vertical position with lid closed on a stand and work on the monitor. The USB C port on my laptop is on the upper end of the laptop and when I connect the hub, the hub keeps dangling awkwardly. Had to go with 0.5 M extension cable! I will update this review if this fails in less than 3 years!
