The Bark Phone is a Samsung A16. We designed it so that it wouldn’t be recognizable as a kid’s phone — Bark’s parental controls are all internal. Whether you have an iPhone or an Android, you will be able to manage the Bark Phone with no issues.
How much do Bark Phone plans cost?
Our monthly subscription plans range from $29 to $79 per month. Plans include the device, built-in parental controls, unlimited talk & text, data (if you need it), and a Bark Premium subscription. Choose the plan that fits your family’s needs.

We have two options: the starter plan is our locked-down version perfect for younger kids or teens who need more supervision. It allows for texting and calling only; our advanced plans allow your child to request any apps in the Google Play store.

Love this phone! I got the Bark Kids Phone for my son, and I couldn’t be happier with the decision! As a parent, I love that it comes with built-in parental controls, allowing me to monitor texts, calls, and app usage without constantly checking their phone. The content filtering is a huge plus—it blocks inappropriate content and ensures a safer browsing experience.Setup was super easy, and the phone itself is durable enough to withstand everyday use. Great choice for first cell phone
It was time to get my middle schooler a cell phone but I was hesitant to give her the full freedom (and associated risks) of an iPhone. The Bark phone is a great solution. Parents can pick and choose the options to customize an experience based on your family’s needs and preferences. The interface takes a little getting used to but there are lots of support articles or you can call/chat with customer service. I can track her activity, approve her contacts, and get alerts if anything concerns pops up in her texts or browsing. She gets to text with her friends, play her music, and contact me if she needs to. We’re both happy. The monthly fee is higher than I’d like but the trade-off is the peace of mind I get. Hard to put a price on that.

Negative Experience
I had the phone for about six months and then my child was unable to use the phone for a few months, due to treatment they were receiving for mental health. During that time I cancelled the service that was going unused so I would not have to pay the ridiculous cost of $60 per month for the very limited phone service. When it was time to reinstate the phone line, the phone suddenly “didn’t work with Bark” anymore despite being less than a year old and being a Bark phone! After being on the phone for a long time they finally said that it would still work (after trying to convince me that I’d need a brand new device that had gone up in price) but their engineers would have to reach out to me to fix things due to a problem on their end. This was after they had me do a factory reset and we unfortunately lost all the pictures my child had on the phone (they warned me that would happen but there was no other option because of the phone somehow being “locked” on the Bark software side). They then left me in the dark for days and I was not able to call due to their call center being closed on weekends. When I tried to cancel my service they said they typically don’t do refunds and that I was likely to still have to pay for the year subscription ($100) and a $60 charge for the month of phone that was never even activated due to issues on their end. They said they would transfer me to billing to see about canceling the charge, then they hung up on me instead. Definitely will not be using Bark in the future.
