Bernard Waber, creator of the beloved Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, explores many different kinds of courage in this look at the moments, big and small, that bring out bravery in each of us.
There are many kinds of courage. Awesome kinds. And everyday kinds.
Highlighting both the big and seemingly small actions of ordinary people—like being the first to make up after an argument or going to bed without a nightlight—Courage is the perfect read for anyone who needs a boost of confidence. With gentleness and humor, Bernard Waber presents an ideal read for milestones like graduation or starting school, or for gently responding to world events that feel overwhelming or scary. In moments that require resilience and compassion, Courage is an empowering balm for the spirit.

Teaching Courage
I bought this book for my 4 year old grandson. He enjoys it very much, and requests it often at bedtime. The vocabulary and lessons in the book are now a part of his life: I have heard his father remind him: “Remember to use your Courage,” And last summer as he was about to jump in the pool, I heard him say, “I’ve got to use my Courage!” I can’t wait until he is able to read it to his little brother. I just bought a copy for my granddaughter. She is already a brave girl at 2, but everyone needs to develop the skill of COURAGE, even this grandmother.

Good message.
Good story.

Great graduation gift
I used it as a graduation gift for the high school seniors in my church. I think the message of courage of which the book whimsically and profoundly illustrates ties directly into the practice of our faith in the world. Where there is faith there is courage and vice versa. Love this book.

Excellent book!
My husband and I first bought this book over 15-years ago for our daughter – before she was born. It’s our favorite. We both use it in our classrooms. He teaches high school English and I teach Child Development. Quality children’s poetry. Fantastic pictures. Just get it. You won’t regret your purchase.

Great gift for all ages!
What a beautiful book! It is a great gift for adults, as well as, children! I received it as a retirement gift from one of my favorite teachers. I ordered one for our granddaughter before she entered kindergarten.

Cutest book
This is the cutest book ever and really helps prompt a conversation with young children about how to face different situations with courage and the determination to try

Great book to talk about big and little courage
My 7 year-old son has a heart defect and has had 8 surgeries to date. His speech therapist read this to him and I had to get a copy. A beautiful book talking about how, no matter how big your courage is, you are a hero!

Good message, half hearted illustrations.
The illustrations are scribbly and child like. I know, that’s what the author was going for, but they look like children’s drawings. The message is a good one, about having every day courage, and that’s what’s most important.

Everytime I read it, it gives me the feels. Good for adult and children. Great reminder that we are all courageous in different ways in our daily lives.

個人的には26、27ページの「Courage is exploring heights–and depth.Courage is a blade of grass breaking through the icy snow.」が好きだ。最後のページはなるほどね!と思わせるんだけど、それは読んでのお楽しみ。とてもいい本でした。買って損はしませんね。
