February/Love:  “Love one another, but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.” –Khalil Gibran
March/Authenticity:  “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.” –Mahatma Gandhi
April/Growth:  “A jug fills drop by drop.” –Buddha
May/Courage: “It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it has to have tried and succeeded.” –Anne Morrow Lindbergh
June/Perspective: “It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.” –J. K. Rowling
July/Adventure: “Life itself is the proper binge.” –Julia Child
August/Freedom: “Freedom is from within.” –Frank Lloyd Wright
September/Purpose:  “The right word may be effective, but no word was ever as effective as a rightly timed pause.” –Mark Twain
October/Fulfillment: “Ah! There’s nothing like staying home for real comfort.” –Jane Austen
November/Wisdom:  “Sleep is the best meditation.” –The Dalai Lama
December/Faith: “Peace is always beautiful.” –Walt Whitman
As poet John Keats wrote, “A thing of beauty is a joy forever,” and readers will turn to Daily Joy year after year to find wonder, awe, and happiness in the world around them.

Just a bunch of inspirational poster quotes
I thought I would love this book but I didn’t. I ended up sending it back for a refund. I just couldn’t get behind the shortest quotations written on photos. It just doesn’t inspire me and I didn’t event think the pictures chosen for each page matched what the message was for that day. Pretty disappointed.

The cover was dirty and one of the pages was folded up and …
I had to return it to you because the copy you sent was so beat-up looking that I couldn’t give it as a gift, which I intended to do. The cover was dirty and one of the pages was folded up and sticking out of the top of the book. This was a bad experience and I hope not typical of the type of merchandise that you usually send out to customers.

    Small images, poor quality paper
I bought this for my mom for Christmas and was so disappointed in the size and quality of the images. The paper quality wasn’t great either. With a photo book you want large, gorgeous images on thick lustrous paper. This book is not that. Definitely underwhelming.

one of the books had a broken cover so I could not use it as a gift. The box was not damaged, so it appears the seller mailed it that way. I paid for new not used/broken. very disappointed. How can I get my money back for the 1 book?Susan Hoover

Incredible photography combined with thought-provoking phrases
Striking, full color photographs for every day of the year, reflecting the high quality standards of National Geographic. Each month has a theme reflected in the brief quotations for each day. My only disappointment is that the photo locations/subjects are not identified. I like the size of the volume, which has a little weight to it since they have chosen to print on high quality, glossy paper. This would be a nice gift for someone who may be “spiritual but not religious.” The writings come from a variety of people across the spectrum in terms of their theology, field of work, and locations. It is pleasant, engaging way to start your day.

Its a good book to have at the end of a tiring day. Daily Gratitude and Daily love and Daily peace are better than this but this is a good book to add to the collection

Created by National Geographic, ‘Daily Joy: 365 days of Inspiration – Photos and Wisdom to Lift Your Spirit’ is a treasure trove of colorful and superb photographs, accompanied by 365 equally wonderful and inspiring daily quotes. The pages in this book are not labeled with page numbers, rather the book is arranged in a daily calendar format, labeled with the month and day–commencing with January 1 and ending with December 31’and there is no year given; therefore, the book can be used indefinitely (for the sticklers, February 28 and 29th are included as one entry). While it would be impossible to describe the actual photographs included in this book, suffice it to say that they are breathtaking: with some taking up a full two pages and others taking up merely a portion of the page.Just as with the photographs, the words shared on these pages will touch you at a very deep level and inspire you to see the world with new eyes. The quotes come from many notable people throughout history, such as: Sir Winston Churchill, John Keats, Steve Jobs, Maya Angelou, Mark Twain, Rumi, Pema Chodron, William Arthur Ward, Henry David Thoreau, Robert Browning, Erich Fromm, Helen Keller, Mother Teresa, and the list goes on and on.While be impossible to do justice to the vast number of superb words of wisdom in this book, randomly opening to seven different pages I came up with:’To be able to look back upon one’s life in satisfaction is to live twice.’-Khalil Gibran’You are built not to shrink down to less, but to blossom into more. To be more splendid. To be more extraordinary. To use every moment to fill yourself up.’-Oprah Winfrey’Your time is limited so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.’-Steve Jobs’Talk not of wasted affection; affection never was wasted.’-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’Put your ear down close to your soul and listen hard.’-Anne SextonPleasure is very seldom found where it is sought. Our brightest blazes are commonly kindled by unexpected sparks.’-Samuel Johnson”Stuff your eyes with wonder, he said, live as if you’d drop dead in ten seconds. See the world. It’s more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories.’ -Ray BradburyIn addition to the stellar quality of the content in this book, the physical production is also second to none. The pages are made from glossy, high-quality paper; the spine is very solid and well bound and there is even a bookmark ribbon to help you keep your place. If you enjoy reading inspirational quotes and if stunning nature photography kindles a flame in your heart and soul, then you will likely never find a more suitable book than ‘Daily Joy_365 days of Inspiration – Photos and Wisdom to Lift Your Spirit’ (other than perhaps the newer titles in this series). After having acquired a copy for myself, I also purchased a copy for a loved one and I know that I will be gifting many more copies of this book, and the others in the series, in the future: it truly is one of those ‘perfect presents.’

Wonderful read, great for reading at random in snippets of free time. Just as good to read pages on end. I bought it as a present although after I wanted to keep it myself. It makes great inspiring reading and the photos are a treat. Highly recommended!
