Perfect for your young gymnast!
I bought several of these in the series as a read aloud for my 6 year old who is a Level 3 gymnast. The storylines and skills are so relatable. She was entranced listening to a book that followed many of the skills she’s learning and obstacles she’s facing!

A great read for elementary-aged gymnastics fans
In this third installment of the Perfect Balance Gymnastics series DANCE IS THE SECRET EVENT, Paige, who is the oldest girl on her team at age 10, wants to win the All-Around title at the State Meet and takes her coaches seriously when they suggest that improving her dance elements might give her an edge. Her younger teammates think dance is boring compared to tumbling and Paige feels outnumbered and out of place. She becomes the team leader, as the oldest and most mature, when she helps a teammate gain confidence on an event that the girl doesn’t want to compete in.I thought it was relatable that Paige felt like an outsider among the rest of her team, being so much older than them. It also made sense that they would look up to her. This story also shows that listening to your coaches is usually the best way to go when it comes to improving your routines. It’s a great read for elementary-aged kids.
