A three-book set for web designers, front-end developers, and full-stack developers
This three-book set combines the popular titles
HTML & CSS: Design and Build Web Sites (2011)JavaScript & jQuery: Interactive Front-End Development (2014)PHP & MySQL: Server-side Web Development (2022)
Together these three books form an ideal platform for anyone who wants to master HTML and CSS, step up to the additional front-end interactivity possible with JavaScript and jQuery, and build back-ends with features like content management and membership using PHP and MySQL. In combination, these skills are commonly referred to as “full-stack development”
HTML & CSS covers structure, text, links, images, tables, forms, useful options, adding style with CSS, fonts, colors, thinking in boxes, styling lists and tables, layouts, grids, and even SEO, Google analytics, ftp, and HTML5. JavaScript & jQuery offers an excellent combined introduction to these two technologies starting from how JavaScript changes an HTML page’s code and progressing to creating interactivity including sliders, tabbed panels, accordions, and sorting images. PHP & MySQL finishes a self-taught programmer curriculum with data-driven web sites for content management or online shops that use registration, search, sending emails, and tailoring pages to individual users.
A handy three-book set that combines related skillsHighly visual format and accessible language makes these books highly effective learning toolsPerfect for beginning web designers, front-end developers, back-end developers, and full-stack developersWritten by the best-selling author on HTML and JavaScript for the last decade

formatted like Instagram posts and I mean that in the best way possible
I use these books when I am teaching web design intro classes. They are very much formatted like an Instagram post and I mean that in the best way possible. Clear and direct examples of individual concepts and whatever newly introduced syntax is coming in. Plus, the companion site is still up and has solid examples. These are a good first step for someone just jumping in who might not want to wade through the human trash that is on online forums.

These are competent instructional guides
I have a project that will demand plenty of skill and access to solutions. So, I thought I would brush up on changes in the latest versions of PHP and MySQL which I am running on my server. This book was current, from Wiley, and inexpensive when bundled with companion volumes on HTML and CSS, JavaScript and jQuery. Those additional volumes were older, but great guides to starting out. The book is well laid out in sizable chunks of associated information. It’s a great review of and catch up on PHP and MySQL , and I’m looking forward to getting deeper into the project.

Beautiful overview of how to build websites
Pros: visually interesting, good summary of core concepts, very easy to read and hard to put down. In short good primer book set to learning about in’s and outs of web development.Con(s): Tech is always changing so exact frameworks in the book may not be up to date with what’s popular at time of purchase. Check edition for more info before buying.

Good info
Worked as Expected

Good set of books.
Be wary that these books are from 2014, so the examples are a bit outdated. And some of the newer syntax is not included.
Kassandra Jones –
Perfect
Product exactly what was stated and what I ordered

A terrific resource for any programmer
I keep this set of three books on my desk for easy access, since I often reach for them to use as reference guides. An excellent compendium of valuable information.

Pages fall out after first use
The books look nice, modern. But the content is dated (2011) and the books were bound with cheap glue or maybe the glue is so old, but if you open the book at any given page too far it splits away from the spine.Anyone looking for books on full stack web development in 2025 should be looking for a set that has a backend book on more modern architectures that use Node.js / Mongo not PHP / MySQL.

Textbooks are used by several colleges and remain a valuable resource even after you complete your courses. They are excellent for refreshing your knowledge foundation from time to time.

It’s is very expensive book but if you have money go for it. Or go for another because you will find more books in low price and the most important thing is that it come from international parcel in india that mean you can’t find in india because it is very expensive in india. and the best part is that it came after 25 days after order. But books ar good and I will prefer buy the hard cover edition.

Well laid out books with easy to understand writing and examples for each command. Good quality books and I’m sure these will be my go to resource for coding.

It is always difficult to find sufficiently up-to-date IT books. The industry standards move so quickly that often these types of books are redundant as soon as they come off of the press.Despite there being some ages to the HTML/CSS and JavaScript&JQuery books, they still offer a really great resource and companion. I’ve yet to use the PHP/MySQL book. As that was only recently published I am confident it should be sufficiently current. They are a great resource and a good accompaniment to a course in any of these subjects. However, they’re not a substitute for a course. These are more reference materials.
