Works great for Stardew Valley on iPhone, even with a phone case!
Bought this solely for playing Stardew Valley on my iPhone 16 and it works great. The instructions were a bit lacking so it took some searching around to figure out how to switch it from “Android” to “Switch” mode in order to work with my iPhone but once there it stays there so I don’t have to worry about it. The controller also included various thicknesses of rubber pads that go alongside the USB-C plug which allowed me to fit my phone into the controller without taking my phone case (a standard Speck case) off which was another concern. The buttons are a little cheap feeling but they work just fine and the whole controller is nice and light which is appreciated so no complaints. I did not have to configure any buttons either, it worked as a normal control would once plugged in and set to “Switch” mode. Would recommend!

Best Mobile Controller
As a budget-friendly option, the GameSir X5 Lite is a fantastic choice for mobile gamers. The lightweight design and comfortable ergonomic grips make for a great handheld experience, turning your phone into a legitimate gaming device. It has a sturdy build and the Hall Effect sticks are a premium touch, providing smooth and accurate control without the worry of stick drift. The direct USB-C connection ensures a lag-free experience, and the pass-through charging is a game-changer, letting you play for hours on end without your battery dying. It’s a simple, no-frills controller that delivers on its promises and is an excellent value for the price.

Comfortable, solid controller.
The controller works great, I like the feel of the joysticks and the buttons. I do wish it had better triggers and also a couple of back paddle buttons. But for the money it’s a well built, comfortable little controller.

Fantastic controller at the price
It’s a great controller that feels good in your hands. It’s as portable as the Backbone but feels better because of the joysticks and the grip. One of the best design elements is the movable USB-C which makes it easier to put your phone in and out. It also comes with different sized pads so that you can keep your case on while using it.I dislike how the Backbone seems to take the top position in terms of phone controllers because it’s actually one of the worst out there. For what they’re charging for the Backbone, you might as well buy an actual PS5 or Xbox controller. It’s insane to me that such a terrible controller from Backbone can command that price with the lack of features and design consideration.

Very impressed.
I’ve tried different controllers and this one is interesting. First is that you get rubber bumpers of 3 different sizes so your phone can be plugged in with a case on. I have a Samsung S23 ultra and with the case i have, it would not fit any of my controllers. For me, that is a big plus. Another thing is that if you look at the pictures, its not flat like other controllers or angled. It like a ball that you grip and there’s no awkward feeling when you play. The buttons have good feedback. It has a soft click to them so its kind of a middle ground if you like the click or not. It has a turbo and screen shot button. The controller is very responsive. Ill need to turn down my settings. The awesome thing is that it worked right out of the box. No set up or calibration. How long will this controller last? Idk but for the price, u cant go wrong. At the very least, its a solid backup controller.

Great value for your money
If you are wanting to dip your feet into the mobile gaming scene but don’t want to spend 70+ dollars for one then for the price this is a no brainer. At the time of this review I bought it for $35 which for what you get is a great price. I bought this to try out on my Galaxy Z Fold 6 and I must say this is a perfect companion, the usb c port is located on the left side which is ideal for my phones folding screen setup which means that unfolded this looks and feels like a high end mobile gaming console. Overall very happy that I gave it a try.Pros: Affordable, responsive controls, easy to use, type c connector that can flex for easy access, ultra lightweight.Cons: Cheap plastic, buttons are very noisy, not compatible with most cases on, no color options (they do make a teal colored one). Conclusion: I am very happy with this purchase however I do notice the feel is somewhat cheap feeling, the grips are textured as they say but there isn’t much of a grip, I would prefer a rubber grip and softer quieter buttons, maybe I’ll look into the higher end models next.

Usb-c swivel, fits all phones with a case
This controller is an easy five stars for me. A lot of people worry about whether it will work with a phone case, so here’s what actually happens: the USB-C connector isn’t fixed in place, it swivels, which makes it far more adaptable than most mobile controllers. And if your case is a little thick, you can simply remove the small rubber pad next to the USB-C port and your phone will slide in and connect perfectly. I’m using it on my Galaxy Z Flip 5 with the case on, and it works just fine. The overall build is solid, it feels great in the hands, and the spacing is comfortable for long sessions. Everything fits the way it should, and the controller just works. Highly recommend it.

Works for my z fold 3
I brought it for my Samsung z fold 3 and it’s perfect. I had a gamesir 3 (the blue one with the fan in the back) and it was heavy! I’m happy this one is light because I don’t want to give my wrists a workout while gaming. I got a super slim case for my z fold 3 and I made it work with the case by cutting some of the rubber inserts and making use of the extra rubber inserts that comes with the controller. I wish it came with a port so I can charge my phone while using it but it does enough for the price.

Very happy with this controller. I already own a GameSir G8 Plus, which is a great controller, but as I have a few different mobile devices I decided to buy the X5 Lite as well, since it’s relatively inexpensive, and it works great! It’s similar to the Backbone One, but I prefer it over the Backbone as I find it more comfortable to hold and it’s not as clicky and noisy to use as the Backbone. Not only that, but it’s much less expensive.Compared to the GameSir G8 Plus, the X5 Lite is a little smaller (but doesn’t feel too cramped) and also a little lighter, which is a plus. Also it’s nice to have a controller that doesn’t have a battery and so doesn’t need charging. In short, I’m very pleased with both the G8 Plus and this X5 Lite, and will be using both on my different devices. I’m using this controller on a Lenovo Y700 8.8″ tablet right now, and it’s a great setup.
