Amazing watch for people who want to casually improve their health
I absolutely love this watch! It’s very comfortable to wear. I love the challenges Garmin has – giving me some extra motivation each month to walk and exercise. I’m having some issues with my off-brand bands, so my watch has unfortunately fallen off a number of times BUT not a single scratch on it! It’s very durable. And the band it came with works perfectly too. Honestly, this was worth every penny I spent on it. I do wish it came in other colors, but the dark grey is close enough to black that if you switch out the band it can be styled to your liking. Also the battery is amazing. I went on a 17 day vacation and I only had to charge it once toward the end of my trip (Around day 12). I also love the find my phone feature!Note: The Venue Sq 2 does not have every Garmin setting for workouts. For example, it doesn’t have the hiking workout. I usually use the Walk one because it tracks all the same things but you can’t participate in certain challenges if you don’t have the specific workout. I have learned it’s very easy to change the name of the workout for your own record keeping. The Garmin app is really nice for all that.

Excellent tracking by GPS. terrific battery life.
This watch/fitness tracker is working very good. It tracks outdoor exercise via GPS very accurately. There are several functions more than what i plan to use. I have personalized the face and can switch easily between the personalized and standard faces. Battery life is amazing and quick to recharge when needed. The band was ok but didn’t fit my wrist as i wanted so got these (B0DF2L935T) set of 3 stretch bands. they fit perfectly and are adjustable. dry quickly if they get wet (shower). Face is very easy to read in all light. you can set quiet hours and the watchface does not automatically come on if you move in your sleep. can still quickly access the face with the bottom button. Highly recommend

Two months in and still going strong
I’ve had this watch for about two months now, and it’s given me everything I could have hoped for and far more. I’d done my research and narrowed my options down to this and a few others. This comes fully loaded with more options and apps than I currently need, primarily the gym workout stuff, but everything else is perfect. It’s great at keeping track of my pulse throughout the day, allowing me to check and compare across days, weeks, or months at a time. I’m also keeping an eye on sleep quality, which it tracks as well. It’s lightweight and looks and feels quite snazzy, and you can change the clock face from a pre-loaded assortment of (frankly too many) options to choose from. One small issue – which is minor, and I believe fairly common from someone my age – is that it did not come with a hardcopy instruction book. It did come with a downloadable PDF, but I like to have the instructions in my hand, especially given the thousand or so things this particular watch is capable of. Great fitness watch.

Nice watch but make sure to use a screen protection to prevent shattering
I bought this watch in May of this year and really liked it. It was very user friendly and easy to use day to day. I even used it for a full 8.5-hour Spartan Ultra obstacle race and it tracked everything perfectly with no issues with the battery. Unfortunately, I accidentally dropped it recently and the screen shattered, but up until then it was an excellent watch.

This is what I hoped a smart health tracking watch would be
I’m an Android user for many years and wanted a small watch that checked the boxes, without needing to be a wrist-worn laptop! I’ve had two Samsung Galaxy watch variants, I like round analog displays, and they were cool for a while but missed in two major ways, 1) the most important of all, fit, 2) battery life and 3), well, usability. All that is leading up to what this Garmin watch is and does. It’s just the right size for my small (man) wrist. The strap holds it in place, it’s not a big bulbous affair strapped to a skinny pole, it’s a good fit, and also gets the thickness just right. It came charged to about 64%, I charged it to 100% in fairly short order, and I’m now on day 4 and it’s at 43%. I’m really happy with that. I’ve been for 1hr+ activities daily with GPS on and worn it 24×7. If a watch expects to be worn to track sleep, it needs to be worn, not on a charger at night, so another win here.Usability – I’m a big believer in smart things needing to be intuitive and not need manuals to explain them. It paired with my Droid, the Garmin app loaded and communicates without hiccup. The watch reacts appropriately to the turn of my wrist to wake, it’s got a sharp and bright display and responds well. What am I using it for?Daily work stuff – a small vibration when I get email (hundreds a day) and MS Teams and text notifications. It brings two factor auth to my wrist instantly. Oh, and it tells the time!Activities – this is really why I wanted it, I’m getting on in life and need to stay active. It’s tracking my steps, heart rate, sleep quality, and other facets of daily health, and nudging me for my daily activity and step quota. It makes maps of my hikes, and literally in the last few days is instrumental in support of my last few weeks of losing 8lb simply by being more aware of the need to be active and how much effort I’ve put in every day.I knew I didn’t need top of the range for running etc but also needed one device that I’d always be willing to wear. This checked all the boxes. Very happy with it.

Easy to Configure and Connect to iPhone
For my first smartwatch I chose a Fitbit Versa because the Apple Watch has such short battery life. The Versa was mostly fine but buggy and difficult to configure. When it died I switched to this Garmin, on sale for $150 in Oct 2025. It was quick and easy to set up, it’s not pestering me to buy upgraded functionality, and it gives good metrics on steps, pulse, and sleep. And fabulous 11 day battery life! I’m happy with this device.
