    Great History Book for Everyone
My 8yo son is always asking tons of questions and when it comes to history questions I wanted him to have a book to answer some of them. This book is beautiful. Great pictures and short, condensed information in chronical order. It is a book for everyone and you can read it in any order!Love it!

    A Lifesaver for Home Schooling
Three year addendum: Still home schooling and still using this book for all social study classes. I like that it only covers topics briefly because we use it to support other materials but it helps put the information in context with what is happening elsewhere in the world.I bought this book and Timelines for Everything after spending three months doing home schooling with three grandkids. These books make it easy to see the pieces of history we are studying in a larger construct and reinforce what the classroom materials are teaching. Plus the kids love sitting on the couch and reading together. Both books are well layed out, well constructed, beautifully illustrated, and provide a rich diversity of topics to talk about.I looked at the negative reviews but found none that warranted comments.

Good book but Bad condition when it came
This is a good book. Lots of pictures and interesting for children to read. BUT, I was giving it to a kid as a birthday present, but the book came ripped at the top of the spine. Looked like a used book. I didn’t notice until I was wrapping it.

    Great History Book
My 7.5 year old daughter loves this book. She can sit for 30 minutes or more at a clip just reading and looking at it over and over again. It’s a solid book with lots of information and great photos. Well worth the purchase if your kiddo loves history or if you are a homeschool mom looking to add material to your library.

    Recommend with reservations.
Standard glossy chronology but not a Smithsonian book. And not a coffee-table book either. Published as a licensed collaboration.

I bought it for my kids, but I think I read more often than they do.I happened to find a typo on one page, the author’s name of The Tale of Genji should be Shikibu(式部 ) instead of Shikabu.
