5 Stars is a lot of stars, But it fit my needs perfectly.
First and foremost I took the risk and purchased this refurbished item to get the 64 gig memory at a considerably lesser price. So far it works like new…Thank goodness!I have it about one month. It is warranted like a newly purchased item. Please note I am not an expert user on every feature of this device but I use this every day.My objectives for this device:Good notetaking features for personal needs and consulting work. So far Terrific.I wanted options for Day-Week-Month Planning. It has it. Use it every day almost like a bit of diary.I needed “To do” lists for both work and personal. It does that!I wanted options to separately track daily activities like going to the fitness center-grocery store etc.It does that for the month on one page. Be concise in your entries and it meets that need very well.It has folders so you can organize what will eventualy become many note pages. So important for finding items/notes later on. It also has a “search Kindle” feature to search for notes etc. There are many options when you select a new notebook..margins/no margins/wide or narrow lines/blank/graph/dotted/music/storyboard page setup.Just started using it as a reader. Works like my 7 inch Kindle. The larger screen is a luxury for sure. And I can do two things that I was hoping for. Underline-highlight text in the book while reading. Write thoughts/notes in margins. Easily Retreivalbe. I also open a separate notetaking page to write down notable items about the book. You have to go out of the reader and into the notebook section and then back but I like that I can memorialize what I think are remarkable items for future reference.Long Battery life (week+ before recharge). The styils tips are long lasting. Still on my first tip but it is getting low.I don’t draw well so no comment about its capabilites for drawing.I tried to import some PDFs to the device without success. It says it is capable so likely user error. It however takes some doing. I will keep at it becasue it will be a great help for being able to import and mark up work related itemsIf it could only intergrate my outlook calendar..now that would be something!I wrote this moderately long review because these were all the questions I had about this device and really could not easily find the answers. It took me months to finally pull the trigger on it but I am a slow roller!Hope this is helpful So far I love it.

Outstanding Device
I am a huge fan of Amazon products and have purchased most of their tablets, smart components and devices. This Kindle Scribe has become one of my favorite devices. I was unsure if I actually would use this device but once it was in my hands, I wanted to find more reasons to use it. The pencil that came with my device feels and operates as a premium accessory. It can scribe and erase with ease and it feels natural to use. The size and weight is perfect and I am able to use it for long periods without fatigue. The readability is fantastic for black and white material. You can easily increase the size of the font to make it easier to read. In just the normal mode, it looks and feels like I am reading an actual book. I went ahead and purchased the leather case that Amazon sells to give it added protection. It is very thin and I wanted the security of knowing that it will not be crushed while traveling. This device is not only for ebooks. It can be used for writing, journaling and as a daily planner. This device will grow with your needs and there are plenty of apps to expand the capability of this Kindle Scribe. This has become my new favorite in the Amazon ecosystem.

It is great for studying and reading books but ..
I really wanted to love the Kindle Scribe, and in many ways, I do — the screen feels amazing, writing with the pen is smooth, and it’s perfect for note-taking and journaling. The device itself looks premium and the battery lasts a long time. But here’s the problem: a lot of Kindle books simply aren’t supported. Some titles can’t even be opened or read properly on the Scribe, and that really limits its purpose. It’s frustrating to buy books and find out later that they don’t work on the device. If Amazon improves compatibility and allows all Kindle books to be used, this would easily be a five-star product. For now, it’s great hardware with disappointing software restrictions.

Loving this!
I was on the fence about getting this. I’m really glad I finally gave in. The note-taking part is amazing, nice, and smooth. I got the titanium nub as the 1st plastic nub wore out quickly, and it writes smoothly with no scratches. I like that I can email any of the notes and convert them to text to email as well. Book reading is the same as any other kindle, which it has always done well. The width is perfect, I prefer it to the smaller kindles, it’s just easier to hole. If you are on the fence, give in. It is worth it.

Bigger screen, great for at home reading
Great device. Being an older model (2024), it’s much more affordable than the newer one. Though it’s a tad bigger with the side tab, it’s not really a big deal. The pen it comes with is great too.I think this might be THE bargain deal for the next few years if you want a Scribe. The newer 2025 model comes in two flavors, the cheaper one doesn’t have front lights like this, and the more expensive one is much more expensive.I have both the Paperwhite and this one. This is great for reading books on a larger screen, which was my biggest issue. The Paperwhite is great for travel and paperback books. But for text books or anything that have images / equations / graphs, the Scribe is better.Overall, I had an older device I traded in for a good discount too, bringing the Scribe to not much more expensive than a new Paperwhite. Definitely worth it.Finally, this is not waterproof like the paperwhite. Moko makes good cases, and I got one for this, which is fantastic.

Excellent for taking notes, bonus that it’s also an e-reader.
I am so glad I decided to purchase the Scribe. It is working out perfectly for taking notes during meetings. The only con to it, there’s no direct way to transfer the notebooks and folders to online storage like OneDrive. You need a 3rd party. Other than that, it’s been an awesome investment.

Not a good start
It has crashed/hung/reset four times in the first 24 hours. It could be the reason it was refurbished originally. Going to return in a couple of days if this cycle continues.

I do a lot of writing, based around Samsung tablets, and, as I travel, make a lot of notes on paper pads, yet technology moves on, and the scribe was a fresh idea, so I invested in a rebooted 2022 model, without the ai, yet, having used it for a week or two, I am warming to it, the e ink surface is good, and it is only a reader, but does it well, and the notebook is good, though I have had to improve my writing, I do like the pen and eraser, overall, it works well.

Not much to say other than a perfect upgrade from my small Kindle. Works as expected and the refurbished one is the same as new.

Writing objective reviews on writeable e-readers is arguably the most challenging to write, since they are bought for different reasons.I have had mine for two weeks. It is too big merely for reading and too limiting for note-taking. Ideally, Amazon should look to make such tablets around the 8’’ mark. This is 10’’. The reading experience is very nice, but that’s it. Trying to load PDF’s is a nightmare, so forget about trying to upload that camera manual for your new SLR when on holiday. Note-taking on margins of novels isn’t great in that you cannot easily access them later on in the novel should you wish to.(I don’t mind the subtle auto page rearrangement when you do so.)If you’re looking for an e-tablet primarily for note-taking, this isn’t bad as others have attested, but I don’t recommend it for reading by the pool, for instance. It’s too big. Unfortunately, I am returning mine and shall wait to see what the upcoming Kindle Scribe Colorsoft has to offer.
