The best racing wheel at this price point, with room to grow into it.
Considering what this wheel/pedal set is, I don’t think there’s a better set for this sort of money. The older G25 and G27 used to come with a shifter admittedly, but even without that this still has its value. It is a gear-based force feedback system which some people may not like compared to belt-driven wheels from Thrustmaster around the $400 range, but then that’s also a significant step up in price.Perhaps the most important thing to me and possibly others is that this is a wheel made out of real leather and real metal (excluding the face buttons) and the wheel and pedals can be mounted to a wheel stand or racing cockpit out of the box. This is HUGE for me, as cheaper Thrustmaster wheels such as the T150/TMX are made of rubber and plastic and cannot be mounted without adapters, while others can’t be mounted at all. If you’re a beginner who doesn’t know if you’re going to want to put money into a full racing setup, this is possibly the biggest reason I can say this is the wheel for you – should you decide you want a wheel stand or cockpit, you will be able to mount this to any hardware you purchase and the wheel can grow with you. I do have faith in Logitech reliability to last long enough to see this as well, as I have a Logitech Driving Force GT that is 15 years old and still works perfectly fine (I purchased this as an upgrade from that).I also do recommend this particular wheel over the G29 unless you are purchasing it explicitly for Xbox usage – for PC, get this one. The G29 is missing several buttons and the shift light indicator for the same, if not more, money. Even games like Forza which were previously xbox exclusive can and will recognize (and have presets for) this wheel on the PC versions (tested with Forza Motorsport 7 and Forza Horizon 5).The only downside I can think of with this wheel is the brake pedal – this is something others have noted as well, as Logitech made the strange decision to put a block of rubber into the pedal to simulate a load-cell pedal type by making you have to push hard on the rubber to get the brake to fully depress. The block is removable with basic tools and the pedals are even relatively modifiable, though I have not done so yet. It is not a major issue – the brake pedal works perfectly fine with it, but you may find it annoying. There is the newer G923 wheel as well, but I do not consider that to be as worthwhile due to its increased $400 price. As previously mentioned, the Thrustmaster T300, a leather/metal, belt-drive, and mountable wheel also costs $400, meaning you would at that point have to directly compare them. I see very few advantages of the G923 over the G920 outside of its vibrating wheel feedback, something only a few racing simulators even support. I would personally stick with this one rather than pay thrustmaster money for a gimmick that may or may not even be supported in the games you plan on playing.

Great for the price
Overall the build quality is solid, nothing seems too cheap or flimsy, it’s easy to use and set up and works well with assetto corsa, forza 5, and race room. The mounting system is well designed, it’s secure but easy to uninstall if you want to move it. but if it’s trying to be the same as a car it needs some work, the clutch pedal feels almost the same as the gas and with how good the brake feels I was expecting a bit better, the paddle shifters are way too mushy it should be a bit or resistance with a nice click of the whole paddle not a linear motion with a mouse button click at the end, the wheel itself is also tiny it’s smaller than the ones that come on the new civics, though that was probably a compromise to save space. I really can’t complain much because it wasn’t that expensive the feedback feels nice it looks nice it works well and it doesn’t feel like it’s gonna fall apart any time soon I’ve just been spoiled by driving real cars so I know how these things should feel, and having such a stark difference in the components makes it feel more like a toy than I would’ve liked, but I’m not complaining I’m just trying to be descriptive it’s a great product with Logitechs great quality I also appreciate the amount of metal used as far as I can tell the only plastic is the outer casing and the buttons and that plastic feels really good too, they clearly put the money where they needed to with this product.

No prior wheel exp before buying this
Edited: NFS2015 does not work on PS4 as of yet. Pretty sad about this…I never owned a steering wheel. I have never used the G27, played a few racing games at the local arcade (Initial D, Max Tuning or whatever) and on my friend’s setup ages ago which I can’t even remember what it was.I’ve been researching wheels since earlier this year, before the G29 was announced and through out.I was considering the Fanatec Porsche, Thrustmaster 300RS and the 500RS as well as waiting a bit to save up for a Fanatec Clubsports…Well, I wasn’t sure how much I’d get into racing games so I held off for awhile reading reviews and I couldn’t commit to nearly 1k dollars for a Fanatec CSP set and frankly speaking all the bad reviews scared me away from Thrustmaster. So it was either the Logitech G27 or the G29.Well I’m glad I went with the G29. Originally I thought I didn’t need to get PS4 support but I realized that most of my friends play consoles for racing rather than PC gaming so I figured I’d get the one that has the support. This works right out of the box for GT6 on the PS3 and it is awesome. I never got into that game because it was too hard for me to play with controller, but this, this made it so much more fun.The other games I’ve tried so far is Project Cars and Grid Autosports.Project cars is a weird one for me, initially it worked but after tweaking some settings it messed up my controls (pedals were backwards) and had to fiddle with the settings to get them to work right.Grid Autosports just straight up doesn’t work. I gave up. Not even gonna bother with the headache. Menu keeps scrolling, can’t change keys, stuck facing backwards and steering doesn’t engage. I don’t know if it’s the Logitech software, my settings for the wheel, or the game but I gave up.It doesn’t work in Need for Speed Undercover. Couldn’t get to the settings.I’m just waiting for the new Need for Speed reboot, preordered it and waiting to play with friends. Plus GT7 sometime maybe next year.Controls wise it feels fine, I was a bit skeptical of the wheel size since it seemed so tiny but it actually is really practical. I’m amazed on how small the actual wheel base is and it’s pretty quiet. The pedals aren’t bad, but I have nothing to compare to besides arcade ones. I may consider getting Fanatec’s Clubsport V2 or V3 later on but for me it works fine. The paddle shifters work fine, I had a 2015 Mustang rental recently and it had paddle shifters and these feel about the same, if not better.I have my wheel base mounted to a Obutto Ozone cockpit, works great, pedals I haven’t figured out how to properly mount yet but they aren’t slipping everywhere so I’ll figure something out later.Final conclusion: At this price I wish it included the stick shift. The driver support is a bit whack. I don’t get how to get games to work on it but it works fine in consoles. The profiles are a joke for this inside the Logitech suite. Half are still assigned to keyboard. I don’t regret it though. It’s a lot of fun and a totally different gaming exp.Edit:So I’ve had this for over a month now, and to be honest… I still love it. I’m just disappointed with the lack of game support. Project Cars isn’t a bad game but the cars I like aren’t in it and the style of driving is…. not really something I find all that fun. GT6 is awesome on the PS3, I play one or two races daily.Don’t buy the stick shift. It isn’t worth it. It works in Project Cars. That’s the only game I personally can confirm it works.Games I’ve played so far that work with this wheel, NFS: The Run (a bit awful though, can’t really adjust settings, not very fun), Project Cars PC, GT6 (ps3) and thats it so far that i’ve gotten to work without too much fiddling.Games that don’t work that I’ve tried, The Crew (PS4), NFS 2015 (PS4), NFS Undercover, Grid Autosports (this is kinda weird one, it works for some, I haven’t found a way around it)I do want to add that this is kinda bs as some of the games on some websites say they are supported. Do research to make sure it’s compatible with the games you plan to play.

Having read up on it, I wasn’t sure whether to buy this or wait for the new Fanatec DD thats due end of the year. But after hearing that it wont be supporting PS5 initially, I bit the bullet and ordered this.People talk about the gearing being notchy, and maybe it is compared to the high end ones, but having not used those I think this is great and can’t feel it.It would be great if it was somehow wireless as there are a bunch of wires all over the place, but I guess technology isn’t there yet.Paired with a racing seat (FGT Lite) its an amazing set up for not a lot of money.Highly recommended.

The Logitech G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel has completely transformed my racing game experience. This setup is nothing short of phenomenal and offers an incredible level of immersion that a standard controller simply cannot match. From the moment you unbox it, the quality is evident. The build is solid, with a comfortable, hand-stitched leather wheel and robust metal pedals that feel substantial underfoot. The force feedback is a game-changer, providing incredibly realistic sensations of grip, terrain, and impacts. You truly feel every bump and every slide, making driving exhilarating and challenging in the best possible way.The pedal unit is excellent, offering precise control over acceleration and braking, and the included clutch pedal adds another layer of realism for those who enjoy manual shifting. Setup was straightforward, and it integrated seamlessly with my preferred gaming platform. If you’re serious about racing games and want to elevate your experience to a whole new level of realism and fun, the G29 is an absolute must-have. It delivers exceptional performance, durability, and a truly immersive driving simulation. Highly, highly recommend!
