Essential read – Under-represented skills and imperative in meeting complex challenges
Thought – provoking! An under-represented skill in the professional workplace, and for all the reasons the book highlights, is more essential than ever. It provides examples of transformative processes for readers to become better versions of themselves.Invaluable – on constructive conflict and opposing viewpoints in the ability to increase collaboration, encourage curiosity, generate new ideas, and problem-solving. These disparities are inevitable and rather than glaze over them or allow them to become divisive, there is much to be learned through problem-solving. In total agreement that as stated, it’s not a one-time guide, but a user’s manual. It’s an Imperative as there is often inherent complexity and increased need for speed due to technological change. It heightens the need for discernment of truth over disinformation as information proliferates on the internet and the widespread use of AI. It focuses on innovation as a process. The advice on dealing with complex problems is especially beneficial as far too often there is incomplete information or lack of certainty that can slow or stifle progress. The point that any action you take is better than no action because it provides feedback, and that becomes a guide for how to proceed encourages active participation and a safe space for experimentation. It goes beyond the common definitions of familiar topics into thoughtful and provocative truths, especially around the different types of motivation.

A well-written and well-reasoned book
I’ll be honest and say that I do not necessarily agree with all of the author’s points of view on certain things. However, he does do a very good job explaining what critical thinking is, how to improve your cirtical thinking skills, and how to discover areas in your thinking that need objective examination. So, on that front I agree that what the author teaches about thinking critically and how to get there is good. I especially appreciate that he gives example scenarios to explain and expose various areas in logic. So, I’ll finish by saying the book and the author deliver on their promise.

A must-read to improve decision skills and more
The author did a great job in breaking down these topics into actionable steps: critical thinking, creative, logic, and problem solving skills. Each skill has it’s own book which is easy to read and informative so you don’t get lost in the weeds. Being in the second half of my life, I feel these important life skills are lacking in our society. Therefore, I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to make better decisions to improve their life.

Critical Thinking – a good starting point
I am just beginning a “deep dive” into Critical Thinking. This book is a great starting point. Easy to read and understand. Excellent examples. Might not be for those who are really into C/T, but it worked well for me.

Well presented important skills
It does a good job of presenting an important skill, with examples of what it looks like, and methods to improve. If you’ve ever been told you need to improve your critical thinking skills, this is a good book to read. If you already consider yourself a critical thinker and want a way of evaluating your own thinking more objectively, this is a good book to read.
