Delivers continuous 30W of power without heating up much
This is an impressively tiny power supply that can supply up to 30W of power. It also has a wide range of supported protocols: QC2.0, QC3.0, PD3.0, PPS, BC1.2, FCP, AFC. All this means that if your device needs higher voltage, it can tell the power supply to switch to a higher voltage (and sometimes it may ask to limit the current). The fact that this power supply supports many protocols makes assures that whatever odd protocol your device supports this power supply will likely handle it. The most common standard nowadays is Power Delivery PD3.0.What is unusual for the adapter this size, is that it can supply 20V 1.5A, This voltage makes it suitable to charge many laptops that require 20V. This will not be a fast charge (you’d typically need at least 60W), but it could often slowly charge even a laptop.This power supply is not much bigger than the original white brick from Apple USB-A that was a gold standard in reliability/voltage quality. That original power supply could deliver up to 5W of power. This power Minix power supply can deliver 30W.But can it really support continuous 30W of power without melting down? The answer is yes. I connected it to a trigger set to 15V, electronic load set to 2A. This draws 30W of power from the adapter. I left it running for several hours and the adapter temperature stabilized around 53 degrees C. This is lukewarm, not too hot to touch. Generally, these new GaN adapters can run hotter without an issue. Not only it supports the power in the spec, but it also does it without straining too much.This adapter is also efficient. It draws 33W of power while supplying 30W, which gives over 90% efficiency.Excellent, tiny, powerful adapter that delivers what is advertised. Definitely a huge leap from the original Apple cube adapter at nearly identical size.

Varied quick charge support. Gets hot under full load. Decent build and design.
he units weight 37.1g and 37.4g, or about 1.3oz. They are about 5mm shorter than some similar 30W units, but lack the folding plug of those designs.Under full load this unit can get pretty hot. After about 30 minutes of charging at 29W I saw surface temperature up to 64°C (147°F). I also removed the USB cable, and inside the socket it measured 77°C (170°F). After unplugging it, the plug side surface was 71°C (159°F). Somewhat normal for these compact chargers at full load, but still hotter than I would like.0I recorded power draw at a couple wattages with 120V AC. Idle draw was below my power meter’s threshold (0.0W reported). For 7.28W (5.1V 1.427A) output, the wall draw was 9.1W, or about 79.9% efficient. For 28.91W (12.1V 2.39A) output, the wall draw was 32.3W, or about 89.5% efficient.The quick charge controller is XPD737. It seems to support many quick charging protocols (QC3.0/2.0, Huawei FCP/SCP, Samsung AFC, BC1.2, Apple 2.4A. My tester didn’t detect the QC, and FCP/SCP protocols. However, my tester was able to trigger everything with the exception of Huawei SCP. Most supported up to 12V with the exception of Samsung AFC (9V only).The PD controller supports 5, 9, 12, 15, and 20V with currents of 3, 3, 2.5, 2, and 1.5A. It also does PPS 3.3-11.0V 3A, and 3.3-16.0V 2A.Internal construction looks pretty good. The shells were very hard to separate. Mains connection is via opposing springy terminals clamping the board with plastic supports. There are 3 circuit boards, and a plastic carrier. There was fuse marked 2A on the circuit board, but I couldn’t tell if more protection/interference suppression was there. Separation looks decent with only the transformer, a surface mount Class Y capacitor, and a opto-isolator bridging the primary and secondary boards.The output MOSFET had the part number removed. I couldn’t see branding on any of the caps. Some pliable grey goo fills some of the voids.

The smallest block I’ve ever seen!
I feel like my charging blocks go missing constantly. Which is weird because my charging cords don’t. Anyway, I needed some new blocks so I grabbed these when I seen them available. Sure glad I did too. These are so small and compact compared to a regular size block. I can actually throw these in my bag or purse to take with me for emergencies. They’re also not bulky on your outlet, and makes plugging in other things easier. You don’t have to worry about flipping it upside down or it only being on the bottom plug, because it doesn’t take up any room at all. It also doesn’t disappoint as far as charging time. Compared to my actual iPhone charger, it seems to charge my phone just as fast. I know I’ve had chargers in the past that have been so slow to charge my phone that I’ve had to just stop using them altogether. I don’t think this one is faster than my certified charger, but it’s easily just as fast. I wouldn’t mind switching all of my blacks out to these, for the size alone!

High speed, taking up little space
Love these chargers, and especially that they are small and powerful. The fact that they come in a 2-pack is only doubly as good. I really appreciate that they are 30W chargers, and, in fact, this is what made me order them. The speed of 30W is much faster and more powerful. But they are also small and easy to travel with, and I do travel often. They are perfect for all these functions and good quality. They are not name brand and I don’t expect them to be, but for a two pack at a lower price, I feel good about them and will keep them in my purse and carry on!

The fast charging works.Build QualityAbout the same size as the original 5W iPhone cube, maybe slightly larger. 38 grams—noticeably heavier than the old Apple brick, probably the GaN components. Feels solid. The USB-C port sits off-center, which looks odd but doesn’t affect function. Prongs fold, so it won’t snag in a bag. I’d prefer it in the middle but functionally I guess it can give you more clearance if you use the top outlet.PerformanceFast charges my iPhone 16 Pro as expected. Goes from 20% to around 65-70% in 30 minutes. Stays cool during charging—no overheating issues. The 30W output is enough for phones, tablets, and even some low-power laptops if needed. Works with my AirPods and iPad too.Value$10 per charger is solid pricing. It is cheaper than paying the Apple Tax.Bottom LineTwo compact 30W chargers that work. I was surprised to find that this MINIX Gan charger was being recognized as a super fast charger by my S23 Ultra considering how small it is. This makes it really good for travel when combined with a short usb c cable since it can be packed into the tiniest of pockets. It has a nice brushed steel look feels sturdy. Overall I think it’s a great charger if you need maximum portability while maintaining a fairly high charge rate.
