Giddy with excitement! Love this little handheld!
Sorry for the length of this review, but consider reading it all before purchasing one of these just so you know what you’re potentially getting into. I updated the review multiple times as things occurred to give you a proper look at my overall experience. Start at the bottom if you want to read it all. If not, the last edit will suffice.FURTHER EDIT:So, after a lot of ordering and returning, I decided to buy a cheap precision screwdriver set to try to get the one stripped screw out of the first MM+ I ordered before giving up on it. I’m glad I kept that unit while testing others because it’s been the best one I’ve received. The precision screwdriver did the trick, and I was able to easily switch out the buttons! I will be hanging onto my original device. That one screw is literally the only thing I’ve found to be wrong with it. It’s worked perfectly without any light bleed or dpad issues since I first opened it. Whew. Crisis averted. I still recommend grabbing one of these if you’re patient and enjoy tinkering. I put up with a little more inconvenience than I probably should’ve because I really wanted a MM+; its size and shape are just perfect.EDIT:I love this thing. After deciding to keep it for myself, I’ve taken a deep dive into the world of retro gaming, and I have been playing a wide variety of games, many of which I’m actually playing for the first time. I’m amazed by how entertaining old systems still are; they truly stand the test of time. This is a great deal, best bang for your buck if you install OnionOS which is free and easy to install. I’m still jealous of the overall look and feel of the RG35XX Pro, but I’m more than happy with the MM+. I hope to get lots of use out of it. Low price. Perfect size. Ease of set up and use is unmatched. Great beginner handheld. One gripe: QA seems a bit lacks. Can’t expect much considering the price I suppose. Ordered another MM+ after discovering the first one had a stripped screw while attempting to modify the buttons. This will make any modifications/fixes, like replacing the screen, essentially impossible if needed in the future; I’m glad I caught it early. The second unit had light bleed where the bottom of the screen meets the shell. I have ordered a third purple device in hopes of it being “the one.” If it doesn’t work out, I’ll just order a different color and hope for the best. 🫣 lots of ordering and returning, but I really want the MM+ to be my go-to handheld. Grrr. Just be aware that you may have to return and reorder depending on the unit you receive. Unfortunately, I may have to go without a Miyoo device if they continue sending imperfect ones. Quite frustrating since the MM+ is truly the perfect shape, size, and price.EDIT:Ended up buying an RG35XX Pro to compare to the MM+. Wowza. Spend the extra $13 for the Anbernic device if you’re not too worried about pocketability and want something which more closely resembles the original Game Boy Color. If you’re on the fence about buying this and have a few extra dollars to spend, check out the RG35XX Pro ($70 after tax) before you pull the trigger. It doesn’t come with a case, but that’s not really a big deal considering the device’s additional capabilities, features, and overall quality. I’m amazed. I have attached a photo for comparison.I may hang onto the MM+ for myself due to its high potential and extensive support/community, but I’m definitely going to gift the RG35XX Pro. With all of that said, I stand by my original 5/5 rating for the MM+; it truly is a budget-friendly, pocketable, ergonomic little handheld with a lot of potential.ORIGINAL:Wow! I haven’t been this excited to receive an order in a while. Bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband along with a SanDisk microSD and a new SD card reader as recommended by many online. Opened it up as soon as it arrived to check it out and make sure it was actually worth it. Boy, am I jealous! I absolutely love this thing. I do believe I got a little giddy upon opening it. Brought back so many memories; made me feel like a kid again. As some people have mentioned, it may be a tad awkward/uncomfortable to hold for long gaming sessions as an adult, but I imagine most people don’t use it for super long periods. This is one of those things you pick up randomly when you’re bored or before going to bed. It’s not something you’re gonna sit and play for hours on end. I bet it’s great for travel though; perfect size. Can’t speak on its battery life or durability considering it won’t be properly used until after Christmas, but man, I am super pleased with it out of the box! Gonna take some restraint not to give it to my husband early. I may actually eventually end up buying one for myself. The nostalgia is real, ya’ll. I ordered from Amazon in case I needed to return it. I paid a few dollars more, but I was a little worried about receiving a lemon or a completely unusable product. It was worth it to me for the promise of a free, easy return. However, this appears to be a “legit” Miyoo Mini Plus. Don’t hesitate to buy it if you’re at all interested. You won’t be disappointed! The included case is a nice touch too.

Awesome Pocket Retro Console!
This little handheld is a blast from the past! The screen looks great, and it’s the perfect size to take anywhere. I had a lot of fun customizing it too—I swapped out the buttons for a different color and upgraded the speaker for better sound. Playing old games on it is even more enjoyable now, and the included case is a nice bonus. If you want something easy to use and fun to tinker with for retro gaming on the go, this is a great pick.

100/100 Retro Game Enthusiasts Dream Come True!
The Miyoo Mini Plus is an absolute masterpiece, 100/100! As a gaming enthusiast, this handheld has become my daily companion, delivering flawless performance and nostalgia in the palm of my hand. While the stock OS works fine, I highly recommend pairing it with a 256GB SanDisk/Samsung Extreme SD card and installing OnionOS—it transforms the device into a sleek, super customizable powerhouse with seamless access to literally thousands of classic games (anything from Atari 2600, DOS, Vectrex, NeoGeo, GBA, DS, and even PS1). The build quality is superb, it has a great battery life (I can play for over 6-8 hours no problem, depends on the games you play honestly), the screen is vibrant, and the portability is unmatched. To the seller: Thank you for offering such a gem at such a fair price! This is a must-buy for anyone craving retro gaming perfection. My Miyoo Mini Plus hasn’t left my side since day one—worth every penny! I would buy another one maybe in another color just to have it, seriously.

OnionOS makes this console shine!
EDIT: So I ran into an issue where the microSD was not being read on occasion. I ended up soldering the microSD pins… It’s pretty easy; I just had to add flux to the pins and touch the soldering iron to each pin, no additional solder needed. I am taking a star off for this issue, as I feel that the consumer should not have to do this. I still recommend this device IF you are okay with the possibility of needing a replacement OR are okay with the idea of doing soldering work yourself.Original review:I bought the Miyoo Mini Plus on a whim and am so glad that I did… It has its hardware flaws, but I am giving it five stars due to the software, versatility, and the experience playing games on it.PROS* OnionOS is FANTASTIC; the Miyoo Mini Plus actually feels like a console!* Wide variety of console emulators available* Games run smoothly* Buttons feel super good and I have no issues with the shoulder buttons* Good battery life (~4 hours low-mid brightness)* Aesthetically very pleasing (I have the transparent purple version)* Screen size is the perfect compromise of portability and visibilityCONS* Hardware is delicate; I’ve heard reports of short drops completely destroying the unit* Very small hardware issues such as the MicroSD card being very slightly not flush, and a little bit of light bleed at the very bottom of the screen component showing through the translucent shellINFO* The included MicroSD card SUCKS. Get a reputable name brand MicroSD and use Onion Desktop Tools to easily install Onion on the MicroSD, and then source your own games* Do NOT use the included MicroSD card adapter, as it can destroy MicroSD cards* Nintendo DS games can be played using Drastic emulator* Pico-8 games can now be played natively (with access to Splore) on the MM+* The charging/power LED can be seen through the front of the transparent purple shell, which I can imagine might be distracting for some people. I have no issues with it personally, but thought it was worth mentioning

Se siente bien construído y los juegos “de prueba” incluídos están de 10! Me encantó y mas por que te la opción de incluir mas juegos mediante una memoria. Sin duda volvería a comprarlo

Great product! it’s great for traveling or whenever you have some time over to game. Its small and fits in every pocket and can play games up to psx with no problem. I would say however that for people with big hands the miyoo mini is not for you.i would highly advise to install the Onion OS and download a few games youself, the library it comes with suck real hard.

First off, if your handheld does not come in a retail box inside the shipping box, be concerned. I had originally ordered a transparent purple unit, and it arrived on time; however, it was not in said retail box, and it had been previously returned to Amazon. The unit was defective, it wouldn’t charge through the device, but I have chargers for these “hobby” lipo cells, so I charged it with that, first red flag. After booting it with the freshly charged cell, I was having issues with the device freezing and locking up, second red flag. The third and final red flag was the inability to load any roms or play any games on the device, either on the included flash card or a high end one I had on my end, which I had installed the most current version of Onion OS onto. So of course it went back to Amazon, and I ordered a new one, which arrived promptly and Amazon had no issues refunding me for the defective one; however, I am concerned it will go back on the shelf and out to another unsuspecting customer, which is why I included this lengthy warning. For the price, this thing is outrageously awesome. I am 39 and most of my gaming heydays were on what are now sold as retro consoles (ouch) so it was right up my alley as a time sink instead of using the old mobile doombrick. The included flash card comes loaded with a ton of games from a bunch of different consoles and arcade cabinets; however, there are in fact NO Nintendo games loaded onto it. Nintendo is pretty litigious when it comes to ROMs, but any savvy internet user can find them on any popular search engine. It will run emulators up to original PS1 games, there is obviously no dualshock support in later games, and the device itself can’t handle emulating anything past that, and no it will not do Game Cube either, sadly, and anything more modern than that, dream on!I supplied my own Lexar 32GB flash card, even though it comes with a 64GB that is preloaded. I used my own to do an installation of the most current beta edition of Onion OS (if you can copy and paste, you can install Onion) and just loaded on select ROMs out of my totally completely legal library of ROMs, definitely been collecting games since 1986, it’s all legit, stop asking! My only gripe is the battery life, and I get it, this is a handheld computer running Linux and powering a pretty damn decent colour display, so yeah it gets an acceptable amount of time, but I feel they could’ve risked a slightly larger device to accommodate a larger lipo cell. That being said, they are a generic 103665 Lipo cell commonly used in a ton of different hobbyist projects, and are available directly here on Amazon for ~$29CAD so really, it’s not a bad investment to drastically increase play time, and it has the appropriate JST battery connector to plug right in.If you are on the fence, there are a ton of videos on YouTube about the Miyomini, but the synopsis of it is; this is probably the best little retro handheld if you aren’t looking to play dualshock PlayStation games. To me, it feels pretty good in the hands, a bit small, but I also have large hands, and I don’t find it awkward to play on. I mean, who doesn’t want to play SNES games on what is essentially a GameBoy! I mean, I am absolutely stingy with spending money on myself, and I absolutely do not regret spending the $80something on this thing at all.

This device is absolutely amazing, and I’m blown away by the quality. The launcher that comes on it is surprisingly great and very easy to work with right out of the box. My biggest recommendation, though, is to take everything else off it and put your own games on it to truly make it your own. The customization potential is fantastic. The screen is top-notch; the colors just pop and make every game look incredible. I’m really liking the size of it. It’s so easy to just throw in a bag and take everywhere, and the battery lasts so long I never have to worry about it dying on me during a long session. All the buttons feel premium and have a satisfying click to them, which just adds to the high-end experience.Honestly, I have a Flip Two and I find myself grabbing for this one instead every single time. It’s just that good. If you’re on the fence, don’t hesitate. This is a 10/10 device.
