Introductions to computer networking.
Really good book on networking.
PeakBagger –
Not hardware specific. But good info
General Netwroking concepts, not hardware specific, and does get the point across. (So not a lot of command info)I personally use My Cisco centric version of this, along with this to better understand concepts.

I just bought this book and felt compelled to write a review. This is by far the best “general” networking book I now own. I teach at Tertiary and University level and I am going to have this with me as a reference as I teach because it will achor me and bring me back to the straight path while I explain networking to students.I wish I had this book before I started my CCNA and Microsoft Certification Journey. Those are great certificates but they are very vendor specific and they presume that candidates have the fundamental understanding of networking.Well, here it is!
