Patrick King’s writing style is not only informative but also downright hilarious. It’s like he has a secret comedy club hidden within the pages, with punchlines and witty banter at every turn. Now, let’s talk about the content. This book is like a crash course in human psychology, but without the tedious textbooks and dry lectures. King dives deep into the art of reading people, unraveling their hidden motives, deciphering body language, and understanding the intricate dance of social interactions. All while making me snort with laughter in public places, earning me some strange looks from bystanders. But here’s the best part: King’s tips and tricks are actually practical and applicable in real-life situations. Whether it’s decoding the intentions of that mysterious stranger at the coffee shop or understanding the silent language of your in-laws during family gatherings, this book equips you with the tools to navigate the social maze with confidence. It’s like having a cheat code for understanding human behavior! One of my favorite moments while reading this book was when I attempted to read the mind of my pet cat. Nice for refining social skills
For most of the book, it kind of felt like it didn’t really tell me or teach me anything I didn’t already know or suspect about people and my ability to read them. What it did do was introduce me to a few new different ways of interpreting people’s behavior, a few ways of possibly spotting lies (even though I already knew to listen to my intuition), and sort of help reaffirm the things that I already knew. But I think probably the most transformative and beneficial thing about the book was that it felt like an invitation to, instead of being afraid of people or assuming the worst about them or what they think of me, to instead be genuinely curious about them. And when you’re genuinely curious about people, it’s pretty hard to be afraid of them.I can be fairly neurotic most of the time, so I misinterpret different people’s body language and facial expressions as being indifferent or hostile. But reading this book and really thinking about how people’s body language works not only gives me the tools to see evidence that this proves my neuroticism, It helps me to become more genuinely curious about people. But also sort of acted like a mirror to see what my own body language might be communicating to people. How to be more aware of my own body language and see where it might be helping me or hurting me.For those who are socially clueless, this book is not a magic bullet that’s going to allow you to just be able to tell everything about a person by looking at them or to keep you from being manipulated or rejected. But it gives you a lot of clues and tips that can help point you in the right direction to better refine how you express yourself and how to better understand others more deeply and more quickly.

    Great Book, Poor Editing
I thoroughly enjoyed this read. King is incredibly insightful, making sure that the reader identifies that each of the skills/lessons/techniques discussed should be used in conjunction with one another, not as a “one stop solution”. The way that the book progresses makes it a fairly easy read. Each chapter builds off the next. The editing has plenty of room for improvement. The book was printed with larger text and wide margins which is not really an issue, just something I don’t see often in these types of books. There is at least one typo/grammatical error in every chapter. Going so far as that there was a “>” instead of a “?” at the end of a sentence. The typos were fairly major, sometimes where an entire word would be missing from a sentence. Not a major issue but a bit of a nuisance. Finally, I would say once every 2 pages there would be a line where the space between words was similar to that of pressing tab in between each word.Overall a great read and very useful book, I already ordered another book from this series.

Although we may all have experienced situations in which people involuntarily disclosed their inner thoughts and values, it’s much more difficult to systematically analyze all the bits and pieces of their behavior and collect them to a meaningful picture. This book provides a number of hints how to solve this puzzle. A nice read.
