    High-level insight into Mentalism
This was truly a pleasure to read, and Oz provides incredible insight into how to better understand read people. His effortless ability to recall specific stories in his life that have lead him to where he is today makes it all the more enjoyable to read. Once I started, I simply could not put the book down. The combination of valuable life lessons, psychological knowledge, and storytelling makes it unlike any other book I’ve ever read. I could not be a bigger supporter of purchasing this book if anyone is eager to learn how the mind works, and all the little mental & physical cues that one can pick up on.

    Easy read, great advice
This was a great book about preparation, mindset, and doing the little things to succeed. It was a quick read and gave me a better overall understanding of Oz’s journey… but I still haven’t figured out his secrets.

    Disappointed reader
The book talks more about past experiences of the author than teach you how to read people. It’s all good advice, not nothing most of us don’t know from generic self help books. In one of the lines he describes a situation where he’s talking to someone who asked to learn his tricks, then talks about showing them just enough and say something to the effect of “oh common, I can’t show you all my secrets, I still have got to impress you”. And I think this is exactly what’s happening with this book. He really didn’t show anything. I bought his hardcover then listened on Spotify, and I had to fast forward from 25% to 100%. It was indeed all past experiences.Disappointed.

    WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
As a Partner at a civil-rights firm in NYC, I’m accustomed to reading depositions, interrogating witness statements, and parsing what someone really meant when they said “I don’t recall.” But I never expected to learn how to read my own mind—let alone everyone else’s—until I cracked open this book by Oz Pearlman. From the first chapter, Pearlman takes you behind the curtain of his celebrated mental-magic career and offers concrete, no-nonsense mental “habits” rather than flashy illusions. He shows you how to sharpen your memory, build confidence, read a room, influence without manipulation, and tame your internal “objection” voice (yes, I’m looking at you, inner colleague who loves to say “Sustained!”)Oz Pearlman | Mentalist+2Amazon+2For my day job—litigating police-brutality and false-arrest cases—I already thought I had a pretty decent radar for human behavior. This book upgraded that radar into a tactical advantage. But more importantly, it’s the internal work (habits, mindset, emotional insight) that hits hardest. Pearlman reminds you: it’s not about “mind-reading” like a magic trick—it’s about mindset mastery that unlocks influence, connection, clarity.Barnes & Noble+1And yes: it’s life changing. I’ve already caught myself pausing before entering a negotiation prep, applying one of his techniques to visualize the outcome—and it works. (No illusions involved.) Even my kids asked: “Dad, did you read my mind?” — I told them: not quite, just read your room (six-year-old Sunny still thinks I’m magic; four-year-old Lux is suspicious of Dad’s super-powers).Bottom line: If you’re done with fluff self-help books and want something that actually shifts how you think, how you connect, and how you act—don’t just buy this book—commit to it. Pearlman gives you the tools. You bring your suit (metaphorically—or literally, if you’re a lawyer).Thank you, Oz. I’m never going back to “just winging it” in a conference room—or a courtroom.

    Insightful Guide to Understanding People
Oz’s Read Your Mind is a surprisingly engaging and insightful read. It breaks down complex ideas about intuition, communication, and human behavior in a way that feels easy to absorb and genuinely useful. I’ve known him since I was a little kid, him and my dad used to run together everyday, so I had to buy this book! The stories and examples make the concepts stick, and the pacing keeps you turning pages. Whether you’re looking to better understand others or sharpen your own awareness, this book delivers practical takeaways without feeling heavy. Great guy, great book, definitely deserves a read.

    Don’t bother
Let’s be clear- I didn’t expect this book to teach me to read minds. I did expect it to maybe discuss sounds of the ways you can “read people” and be a refresher from my 100 level college psych class. Instead, this book was terrible attempt at a self help book with no real content. I don’t know how someone could write 300 pages and not say anything. Any person with any reasonable level of success in life already knows and practices everything he writes about. The chapter on procrastination was painful. So were the endless references to his passion for running. Didn’t SNL recently do a bit on how much runners like to talk about running? When he told us the runner’s high was REAL that completed my bingo card. I thought the book would take a turn for the better towards the end with his chapter about memory. Nope. Just more surface level stuff. (Btw, read Moonwalking with Einstein for a real book about memory). He did tell a few funny stories throughout, but not worth the price of admission. The book leaves me wondering why he felt the need to publish a mediocre book that would ultimately tarnish his image.

    Low-value self-help
I was impressed by Oz’s tricks, and took a gamble on the book. It’s not very good. It’s a vague self-help book that reminds you to write down information about people so you can impress them the next time you meet them. Pretty wishy washy. Now that I understand how he does a few of his tricks, I’m much less impressed. He’s a good entertainer, but his book has about as much depth as any new age clap trap.

Quizá me imaginaba algo distinto, pero me pareció que el libro era repetitivo, con poca novedad y lugares comunes. Es ameno y fácil de leer y algunas historias qué cuenta son divertidas.

Get through the first chapter and the book becomes a much better read. The first chapter was tough to read. There seemed to be AI generated content in it.

Very disappointing. You think he would trade any real trade secret you cannot find in any random self help book? Think again. This is basic ‘be courageous and go beyond’ type of stuff. And a clear message: he is a magician as an illusionist. His tricks have been described in illusions books. But he is great at selling a story. Avoid – you will waste your cash

Oz is a man with a strong character, not only is he a mentalist, and magician he is also an ultra marathoner. He says he doesn’t read minds he reads people. He has expanded his mind thru education and experience. Very impressive! Good read!
