Nice phone, great value, functions well
I love Samsung and this phone did not disappoint. It’s durable, easy to use following the standard Samsung operations. Seamless move from my previous one. It loads up fast and performs without delays. Feels solid and has all the usual features. I’m not a gamer so I can’t comment on that. But for my everyday use is great value for the money.

Samsung A36 from Cell Universal – two thumbs up!
I decided I needed a new phone and after a reasonable amount of research, decided I wanted to pursue this Samsung A36 because it had what I needed with features just right for me and my needs. I’ve always been a Samsung guy which means I also appreciate Android with all its seamless ties to Google and related accounts. Previous Samsung phones I used included Galaxy S series and most recently, the Z Flip 3 (don’t get me started on that model but suffice to say I was on my second screen which had long since started cracking at the crease).I needed an unlocked edition of the A36 and my Amazon search including a few filters led me to the one I ultimately purchased from vendor, “Cell Universal,” who currently shows as a 4.7 star vendor based on last 12 months’ ratings, and which includes 95% 4- or 5-star ratings. I had doubts about buying a new unlocked phone online but I found the price very reasonable, so coupled with great vendor ratings I made the order. Vendor did not disappoint! :-)Package arrived on time and the day after it arrived I got to work on unboxing it and commencing setup. Contents appeared complete: brand new phone in what appeared like original factory wrapping, unsealed, and accompanied by post card that vendor left in the package that contained important “before you start” information. Vendor also included a 3rd party plug adaptor, allowing charging in the wall outlet with USB C cable.I also had concerns that my US Mobile physical SIM may not work upon start-up. I removed the chip from my old phone, inserted into new A36, plugged it in and powered up. The phone immediately recognized the SIM and the related network, and a test call proved that I need not worry anymore. All good…at least it could make phone calls! I did need to do some additional data configuration (setup the US Mobile APN) but that had nothing to do with the phone itself and I anticipated the likelihood of needing to perform this step, which insures apps and texting work when not on WiFi.Next issue involved transferring data from old phone to new (photos, apps, contacts, etc.). My previous Samsung phones handled this stage well enough, and this transfer from Z Flip 3 to A36 also went seamlessly! I transferred via WiFi (as opposed to using included data cable) and each phone’s Android OS operated perfectly…no issues whatsoever, and I expected that some apps’ configurations may be lost due to user/pw and thus I would encounter a need to iron out some wrinkles. But ultimately all pics/videos, contacts, etc. transferred with no significant issues. I did have to perform my own manual WhatsApp chat backup from old and restore on new phone, but that had nothing to do with the phone itself and everything to do with WhatsApp procedures.I completed all setup in reasonable amount of time, including the biometric fingerprint reader capability that one can use to unlock the phone, as well as facial-rec. One key difference between fingerprint reader on Z Flip 3 as compared to A36 involved the placement of the reader. On ZF3 one finds the sensor on side of phone incorporated into a button like feature under the volume keys; on A36, Samsung relocated it on the glass screen, at the bottom, in the middle like where one would find the “home” button on the screen. I really like this change since I now find it very easy to unlock the phone by simply pressing my finger into the sensor area of the screen. It’s a subtle change, but I like it.Large 6.7″ display has great clarity. A36’s processor provides great speed out of the box and after 3 weeks of using the phone I’ve not experienced any related issues. At one point the phone flashed a message that occasional restarts will help reset things, and it offered to allow me to configure automatic restarts when phone not in use, which I declined/skipped. Other than a restart or two after OS software update, I’ve probably restarted just a couple times with one of those occasions involving a restart after I shut the phone down while flying. In other words, no noticeable speed issues.The phone has thus far exhibited great battery life and really holds its charge when not in use, or in standby mode. Watching videos will obviously deplete the battery at a faster rate but it all depends on amount of time one watches or otherwise keeps screen illuminated. I do tend to keep my phone charging when not in use but when I have not charged it during the day, I don’t think the level has gone below 60%-70% and that included frequent use of phone calls, videos, streaming music on Sirius XM app, etc.Phone has ideal weight and I do not find it an issue. It has not overheated or demonstrated any such phenomena. I completed outfitting my phone with a “Deerlamn” protective case, also purchased here on Amazon, and with which I’m also quite happy.All things considered, I found a great deal on this phone from “Cell Universal” and received good value for money paid, along with an excellent purchase/delivery experience. Reader should note that I’ve written about my experience only and I make no claims that another buyer will necessarily have same experience, though I hope he or she will!
