    Favorite in the rotation
I’ve used these for fast paces and races – up to half marathon distance. I think they are AWESOME and perhaps my favorite pair in my rotation. The things I like: the toe box is spacious and the single layer engineered mesh is the most breathable upper I’ve had. The foam is energetic with good energy return. The overall weight is light and they have that “step-in comfort” that disappears onnre foot. The heel collar is comfy with no rubbing or sock pulling. The shoes have a great rocker shape which seems propulsive at race paces. Most importantly, they’ve passed the day-after soreness test where my legs and hips have felt good. I’m now a fan of this model and will likely make it a normal pair to upgrade as new versions come out. For recreational runners like me who don’t need a carbon plated shoe, the nylon plate is plenty and I don’t feel wanting for a full race shoe.If there is one downside, it’s that on a treadmill, the great foam is springy enough to be a little bouncy since the treadmill deck also flexes. But for outside on tempo/speed/race efforts — this is the fave. I use a firmer shoe on the treadmill.

Fast trainer or race day shoe
Great responsiveness and cushion. Capable of going a full range of places. This is a realistic race day or long run shoe. Roomy toe box.

    Comfortable
Very comfortable and durable running shoe. Not overly cushioned like most running shoes nowadays.

    My Go to.
There seems to be some mixed reviews but personally I can say they are great. This is my second pair of Speeds. Coming from someone out of the Speed 2 which many believe are the best including myself. I’d say these are a very close 2nd. In some ways, I would argue they are better. More stable for sure. At first I wasn’t crazy about the upper but now I love it. They still have that bouncy snappy feel but just with a little more structure I would say. The 2’s still to me will always feel the best under foot but these feel really close just with some improvements I would say. I’m not hard on shoes nor am I a heel striker. I look forward to many more miles in them.

    Awful quality
The shoes have a horrible chemical smell and the foam is like styrofoam. If these are in fact genuine Saucony shoes, I don’t know what they were thinking. Terrible quality!

    Good!
It seems running shoe companies go through phases. I first bought Asics decades ago, which were great until the different lines became chic and less performance oriented. My revelation was finding Brooks, which were the best performers hands down but I’m sure they weren’t the most aesthetically appealing to the cool crowd. My latest purchase of Brooks put my favorite line clearly in the chic class w/my favorite Asics of years past. These Saucony’s are my new best performance shoes by far. I don’t run long distances, a 5K a day plus a couple of miles walking but where my other shoes became too soft, these have the firmness I need to keep my knees feeling good.
