Perfect budget laptop for spreadsheets and office meetings
I’ve been using this laptop mainly for my supermarket work — creating spreadsheets, checking inventory, sending emails, and connecting to a projector during our meetings — and it has been working much better than I expected. For Excel, it runs smoothly. I usually have several sheets open at the same time when I’m updating product lists or weekly orders, and the 16GB RAM really helps. No freezing or slow loading so far. The large screen also makes it easier to see numbers and edit long tables.Connecting to the projector during meetings was also quick and easy. The HDMI port works instantly, and I didn’t need any extra adapters. The picture output is clear, and it keeps up well when switching slides or opening documents. The keyboard feels comfortable for long typing sessions, and the trackpad is responsive. I work on the laptop many hours a day, so this part matters a lot. The laptop is lightweight enough for me to carry between the office and the store. For daily use like browsing, emails, and making schedules, the performance has been reliable. It boots fast, doesn’t get loud, and stays stable even with multiple tabs open.Overall, this is a great value laptop for office work and business use. If you need something affordable but good enough for spreadsheets and presentations, this one does the job very well.

Lightweight and Fast
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I ordered this laptop. I just needed something lightweight, affordable, and reliable for daily use, but it totally surprised me in the best way.First off, it’s light. I’m always bouncing between coffee shops, meetings, and my home office, and carrying this around is no problem at all. It barely takes up space in my bag and doesn’t weigh me down, I actually forget it’s there sometimes! Battery life? Way better than I thought. I’ve been using it for hours before needing a charge. It just keeps going. Now, I’m not a big tech nerd, but I do appreciate when things just work. I open it, and boom – everything loads fast. Whether I’m working on Google Docs, streaming music, or juggling tabs (and I’m not shy with how many I keep open), it keeps up without freezing or groaning. I later found out it has a solid-state drive and 4 gigs of memory – (credit to my friend to educate me on this lol.)Also, I love that it has all the ports I need, I didn’t have to go out and buy 10 different adapters. USBs, headphone jack, even HDMI. And it connects fast to Wi-Fi, which is critical when you’re trying to make a last-minute Zoom call.So yeah, if you’re looking for something sleek, practical, and surprisingly powerful without the big price tag, this little machine is a gem. I’ve already recommended it to two friends!

Good laptop at a fantastic price.
Out of the box, it was easy to setup the new PC and begin using it. Everything worked as it should. It’s a fast responsive machine that I would recommend.

Cheap laptop for Linux/Ubuntu setup
Is 2025 a year of Linux laptop? Given how well Ubuntu worked on this bad boy, I will say so.Rewind back to the middle 2000s, when people first started predicting that “this is the year”. I’ve owned many laptops since, but there always was a “but”: something didn’t work. Notoriously, sound would break, or your webcam wasn’t supported, or you needed custom drivers for your wifi card.Fast forward to today, and oh boy, things have changed. Everything works right out of the box with Ubuntu 24.04 (current LTS). And when I say everything, I mean everything: the sound just… sounded, the webcam is perfectly functional for video calls, and WiFi connected instantly without needing to scour forums for obscure driver hacks – what a relief. I was happy that the laptop has an Ethernet port – just for the case Wifi wouldn’t work – but it just did. Still like to have a built-in ETH however – a luxury these days.Performance-wise, this laptop didn’t disappoint either. I was expecting a Celeron to be sluggish at best – but things just seem to work fast enough, I don’t see a difference with my 16-core desktop beast. One chink in the armor here is the SSD – it’s tiny and slow. But even with more expensive laptops I usually buy the cheapest storage option and just upgrade it to Samsung SSD – exactly what I plan doing here as well. The 15.6-inch display was another pleasant surprise. Colors were vibrant, the details sharp, and the viewing angles impressively wide – for the cost. The machine is not super sturdy – but what do you expect for a $250 15″ laptop? It’s light though – everything is a tradeoff.Does it make a phenomenal laptop? No. Does it make a fantastic $250 backup Linux laptop? Definitely.

Slower than a snail in the snow
I don’t know who are writing these glowing reviews but this laptop feels like a toy straight out of the box and took over three hours to complete the initial updates once I turned on the unit. And before you try to blame slow Internet, I was hooked up to the Ethernet port on my Starlink with great speeds. I wouldn’t even purchase this for a child to do schoolwork on. I don’t recommend this SGIN to anyone. Luckily, Amazon has a great return system. I bought a far superior MSI laptop instead.
