Surprisingly Easy
Wow, I am impressed. This has to be the easiest well explained startup cell phone and text messaging system that exist. The instructions are simple, easy to understand, without ambiguity. I was up and running in less than 15 minutes. My service included a new phone number so I can’t speak to porting in an existing phone number. Activation was fast and simple. Signal strength of the network was great at my location. I will be recommending this service to my friends and family.

Scam
This “low cost” phone service is a scam in my opinion. I signed up with Speed Talk in mid December 2024. They offered a discount to pay for 3 months of service in advance instead of one month at a time. Every time I went online it was using up my data even though I was connected to my home Internet. I didn’t realize this until I started getting messages telling me I was out of data. Then in mid January they charged me for 3 months of service again, even though it has only been one month since I paid for 3 months. When I called them to complain about it, they insisted I used 3 months worth of service in less than one month. This is impossible because they cut off my data when I reached my limit. I signed up with Tello instead. When I tried to port my number to my new service, Speed Talk demanded that I agree to pay another fee, which I am not willing to do. Now I need to go through the inconvenience of reporting my new phone number to companies I deal with and friends. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company, locked my credit card to prevent future charges and cancelled my service with Speed Talk. Tello does have very low cost plans and they have not charged my data plan for using my home Internet. I DO NOT RECOMMEND SPEED TALK!

Easy set-up.
My usual network has just doubled the cost of my plan, plus the quality of service dropped. I tried for hours to get some help from their customer service…. i may as well have asked my cat for help! So i decided to try this provider. I was very uneasy about switching, i wasnt sure this plan would work or i would have endless trouble, i was wrong! I put this sim card into a Nokia 110 4G (unlocked) It took less than 10mins to set up and about another 10mins to fully activate. We tested calling and texting, both worked fine. I cant comment on customer service, because i havn,t needed them. So far this provider has been excellent, i am very pleased.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY! WASTE OF MONEY AND ZERO SUPPORT!
I purchased a SIM card and plan from Speedtalk for my son in December of 21. We were looking for a simple plan for his cell phone to use for texts and calls to family only. He was able to make about 20 calls and service stopped making and receiving calls. We worked for MONTHS with non-helpful chat support that would “reset” the network only to be able to make 5 calls and stop working again. After over a year of switching phones and resetting networks on this plan, we were told by chat to cancel the plan, purchase a new SIM card and try again. We did so, only to have the new SIM card NEVER work upon activation. Contacting for support provides a chat agent that continually gave me misinformation and did not help. Repeatedly, this company has shown they do not care about customer service and support, and are more interested in taking your money. DO NOT BUY FROM SPEEDTALK!Amazon should re-consider suggesting them as a mobile carrier for their products!

So far not so good
I received this SIM card and went through the process of activating it and porting my number by 9am. I was supposed to receive an email in 2-4 hours when the port was complete and my SIM card was active. I emailed to check on it after 4 hours and was advised it was still processing. It is now 9pm and I still haven’t received the activation email. Now I checked my bank account and they charged me $11 for my plan twice so now I’m regretting even getting this company and debating cancelling the whole thing.Update: I emailed customer service and they refunded me the double charge so I am happy about that. They told me porting a number can take 48 hours so I’ll keep waiting.Update 2: I waited a total of 5 days and the activation never worked. I asked them what was going on and they said it was being held up by my old phone company. I called my old phone company and they said they have never received a port request. I could not wait any longer and told them to cancel this request and refund me. They advised me the sims card wasn’t refundable and I said I don’t want my $1 sims card refunded, I want the $11 refunded since I’ve never had an active plan. They advise me the request was cancelled and I’ll keep watching my account for the refund. I added one star because at least the companies customer service was very responsive in email.

Excellent value, easy and fast to setup
These are fabulous. They work good and are extremely easy to setup, you don’t even need to dig out your IEMI.But, if you plan to use the internet for anything other than email, the $5 plan is not going to float your boat. It will connect at 4G, but the speeds are capped at literally slower than dial up speeds from over 2 decades ago. You can’t even search google without waiting a very long time. Luckily the $10 plan doesn’t have this issue, but it’s still a bit slow. I’m not sure which plan actually doesn’t throttle their speed.

Fixed the check sim error on my RAZR V3
Honestly I don’t care about the cell service I just wanted to bypass the SIM card screen on old phones so I can access the menus and such. After trying the tracfone and us mobile sims on my RAZR V3, I was getting check sim. As a last ditch effort, I got this one and consider me surprised when it bypassed the SIM card screen. It seems like this is the only one that actually works for my purposes. Don’t know if the service is any good but I will be buying these and stocking up on them so I can use the menus on my old legacy phones.also a word of caution I think this is tmobile based because when I put it into a locked Cingular phone, it required an unlock code so make sure it’s a TMO phone or already unlocked and you should be smooth sailing from there.
