Practical, Clear, and Worth the Read
Alright, let me break it down for y’all — this book is like having a smart friend sit you down over coffee in the Quarter and say, “Here’s how you get it done.” The strategies are straightforward but backed by solid research, and the writing is clear enough that you can take what you learn and put it to work right away. I’ve got a master’s, and I still found new gems in here that made me rethink how I learn and retain information. Whether you’re diving into a new skill or brushing up on old ones, this is one of those books you keep on the shelf and actually use, not just display.

Teach yourself anything – how to do it
Good read for me. He shows a way to course one self to learn a subject without schools and teachers plotting the path of discovery. I’m older and my education was strictly controlled (content and timing) by the school – teachers and sometimes parents. (These days the parents try to control the content – but won’t get into that). Didn’t get along with the teachers which created problems with the parents then the school including my peers – the experience was third rate at best. Fortunately I picked up enough to run a small business and I wish I had this guide “The Science of Self Learning” as I had to add some education as -economics and self promotion-both from books and peers but basically followed a similar but rudimentary path Peter Hollins described in his book.Peter Hollins has written a guide on what to look for – what questions to ask – how to get stated and get into it. Tips on tracking progress and keeping on track. Recommend it

The Foundational Tools to Becoming Your Best Self.
Peter Hollins gives us a great layout of information, tools, and examples that greatly multiply your learning and self-directing skills. This book, in my opinion, has to be one of the most important books that I have read so far. By leveraging the skills and tools used in this book, I can become much more thorough in my knowledge and understanding of information… especially in the subjects of my own best interest. It’s time to rip out the destructive mindset, practices, and beliefs given by traditional education and embark on a path to becoming your best self by becoming the teacher and the student of your life. Thanks Peter.- Bruce P.

Re-presents already established information in an easily understandable and applicable way
I have been self-learning my whole life. I do this because I like it. Lately I have felt the need to become even more adpet at it. After searching around for a bit, I found this book to be the most helpful for me personally, primarily because of the way the concepts are laid out and how the information is presented.I found this book to be very helpful in pulling together already established information in an easily understandable and applicable way. No, there is nothing groundbreaking here, and those who criticize the book in this way are missing the point in my opinion. What makes this book so effective in my opinion is that you walk away from the experience of reading with a fully developed, actionable plan that is presented fairly succinctly. And I don’t mind paying a few dollars to compensate the author for his time and effort. Again, the naysayers decry the notion of paying someone for a book they have taken the time to write. Perish the thought.

The book has a great information
The information in this book from my personal perspective and opinion seem like missing more details about the subjects and highlights to keep the learning in a more beneficial way.

Very well organized and thoughtful book about how to self-learn
This was a very well written and organized book about self-learning. it pointed out several methods one can use to help one learn most subjects. However, the book could have used a bibliography. Also, while the summary of the chapters was good, it repeated the call for requesting a book review. No problem with this, but it appears the author just copied the paragraph from a paragraph written earlier in a section of the summaries without editing the tenses of the words. Personally, he only needed to mention this once and it would have avoided being redundant. However, overall I was pleased with the book. Most of the information was not new, but how he presented the material and its organization makes it for a good reference to have, especially for those wanting methods and strategies for how to teach yourself new material. Well, Pete, I hope this feedback helps you enhance your writing, which you love.

good read
I have a few degrees, science, business etc and we often stop learning, this book was a great reminder of constant pursuit of knowledge and having a game plan that works. Author also does a good job of explaining the “why” for each tip to cement the concept.

At first this book frustrated me, but then I found myself really engrossed in it. It can be a bit of a reality check, that you’ve been doing things the harder way, but if you’re open to change, this is good.
