With Patience and Courage,You Can Change Your Life
I couldn’t believe the wisdom that was contained inside this little book. It was apparent that the author was writing from her own experiences because she revealed so much about her life and her actual thoughts. It was amazing to be with her on her transformative journey, which started with so many negative self assessments and fears about revealing her true thoughts and feelings to her mother who seemed to play a huge role in her self hatred and ended with her experiencing self-love for the first time in her life. Truly an amazing achievement!

A thoughtful way to address self-doubt or persistent self-criticism
This is a clear, grounded book about noticing and working with the negative inner voice that can quietly shape confidence and self-worth. Jacquie shares personal reflections alongside practical ideas, including a simple framework for becoming more aware of self-critical patterns and responding to them more intentionally. What stood out to me was the balance between self-compassion and personal responsibility. The book does a good job of explaining how long-standing internal narratives can influence everyday decisions and emotional well-being, while keeping the guidance realistic and manageable. Nothing feels overwhelming or overly technical.I found it easy to engage with, especially in how it encourages paying attention to inner dialogue and making small, steady shifts over time. If you struggle with self-doubt or persistent self-criticism, this offers a thoughtful way to start changing that relationship.

Practical help for healing past trauma
I thought this book was fabulous and recommended it to all my 12 step friends. It is great because it has a lot of practical advice and I feel it is based on 12 step work, which is always wonderful: forgiveness, forgiveness of self, apology, etc.I didn’t know the author suffered so much from her mom’s issues. She was quite a character.I admire the author’s strength to grow. She is very powerful and it is reflected in the healing she has done. It comes through in the book. Using examples to illustrate situations and the healing process are the highlights in the book (for me)A lot of people are going to be helped by this very practical and emotionally moving book.

Wonderful Writer and Speaker.
I have attended a 3 day retreat presented by Jacque Elliott. She is full of wisdom and insight. I just purchased the Kindle edition and the paperback knowing I will be reading and studying Jaequie’s new book. Jaequie has achieved a sense of calm and peace which I desire. I can’t wait to get started.

Powerful Journey
I’ve just picked up this new book and I’m already hooked. The author takes us through a personal journey of shame, trauma, discovery, and ultimately freedom… It reminds me of my own journey and is helping me process this very important issue…
