“Things We Don’t Talk About” is a short collection of thoughts, quotes and poetry highlighting some hardships of living with depression and mental illness and the effects it has on relationships with yourself and loved ones. It’s a personal lens into the darkest places your mind can take you and the struggle of battling your own mind. It’s a peak of what’s underneath the surface that most people battle in silence, something you may or may not relate to. If you’re reading this, it’s not too late and you’re not alone. In addition, I just wanted to say thank you for allowing me to share a part of me, whether it was specifically of value to you. I hope to make at least one person in this world to feel less alone. Communication and or expressing our feelings, it’s one of the hardest things to do. Often we get discouraged to even try to express ourselves due to the fear of not being understood and or not doing it the “right” way. We are all human and the best thing we can do is to continue trying. Please keep an open mind and always lead with love. Amazing!
Depression isn’t easy. Sometimes hearing others stories and poetry helps though. That’s how I feel with this poetry book. I resonate with the author in our mutually shared experiences. I love poems!

Good, but in fact, cheesy.
I liked the book. Let me start by saying that first. It was good but not great. After finishing it, I felt unsatisfied. I reflected as to why.First, it’s not totally poetry. 95% of it seemed to just be quotes. Similar to other cheesy sad quotes I have seen.Second, I flipped through every page and nothing was really making me think, or ponder.Maybe it’s because I knew the feeling or maybe because I feel like I’ve felt it before.I don’t know. It’s a very quick read.Every page, I stopped to think about, but nothing really arises from it.This is just my opinion, not hating, but it’s how I viewed this.It takes guts to share those types of emotions & thoughts with the world, so props to the author for that.

Love this book
It pretty much describes my life and how I feel about a lot of things. I relate to it a lot and it’s actually helped me understand my feelings a lot better too. 10/10 def. Recommend this book if you struggle with your depression.
