Wifi Extender Really Delivered!
I bought the TP-Link AC1200 WiFi Extender because my router is in the basement and I needed reliable WiFi out in my detached pole barn — and this extender absolutely delivered. Setup was quick and simple, and within minutes I had a strong, stable signal reaching all the way outside. The dual-band connection makes a noticeable difference, and the speeds are much better than I expected for the distance. It’s no surprise this made the 2025 Wirecutter Best WiFi Extender list — it works incredibly well. If you have dead zones or a building outside your home that needs coverage, this is a fantastic, affordable solution.

So much better – and easy to connect
If you need a better signal in the back bedroom or workshop – grab this gizmo. Our primary bedroom is about 35-40 feet away from our router / access point. The signal is weak, so we’ve been using the TP Link booster we bought in 2021. The booster improved the signal a tiny bit, but my wife connection was always weak, sometimes it just didn’t work. With the new model – WOW!! Strong Signal in the entire apartment, and in the back bathroom for tunes in the shower. We’re always connected, the signal is strong, and it’s great for our space. Highly recommend for a strong signal 40 feet away from your access point. You’ll need to get the Tether App and set up an account. I would say it took about 10 minutes to go through the whole download, set up, connect and enable process. I found it easy and to do, used my account that I had set up 4 years ago. I don’t imagine using the app interface again, unless I change the PW on my router. We are using this device in South America, so the power is 220V and it works like a charm.I’m sure there’s bigger, faster, pricier models out there, but for our space, this guy is a winner.

Better than nothing
With the proper placement this roughly double the lowest wifi speed I got in my house. The build quality is alright, but good for the price. The signal strength is slightly better than my ISP provided router, and increases coverage/range a reasonable amount. While the setup was a little time consuming this was 100% worth the price. This is definitely better than using a single cheap router without any extenders if you are trying to service a larger area for cheap.the review I left on the tp-link site:The setup process was fairly easy, took a few attempts to find a good location for it, but it has doubled the wifi speed, from what I was getting. The speed and stability have improved quite a lot. The only issue I have is the account requirement for the app, but the app from what I understand isn’t a hard requirement, the next router I get will likely be tp-link as well so that I can use the easy mesh system.

An Extender that actually works with minimal setup!
The tp link ac1200 mesh wifi signal extender works like a dream. My purpose was to get better download speeds as my router was upstairs and I wanted to play competitive online games downstairs in the living room on my ps5 and series x Xbox. I saw downloads go from 35mbps to 93 mbps and no lag. Setup is extremely easy. I downloaded the official app and followed the in app directions. The bonus part is the device comes with one ethernet port. With this port I hardwired my ps5 in and now get speeds of 135mbps.

Perfect and simple setup with TP-Link Router
I needed an extender that was able to reach another suite in the strip mall that I rent for my business. The 2nd suite I just acquired is on the other end of an L shaped building so I now have both ends of the “L”. My signal is at a minimum of 4 out of 5 strength in every spot of both buildings where as before I could not get a signal at all in the 2nd suite.I tried two other extenders that ended up being exactly the same but with different Chinese alphabet soup names. Both of them ended up knocking out the wifi on my router completely to the point where I had to reset the router to get any wifi available at all. My router is a TP-Link so ended up purchasing this one and sure enough it worked like a charm within a minute or two of simple setup.

Works better than expected.
I must admit, I was a bit skeptical at first. But guess what? This little gadget really did the trick! I went from having spotty Wi-Fi in my office to having a strong, reliable connection. No more lag when I’m gaming, streaming, or just doing everyday stuff. The setup was super easy. I’d definitely recommend it!

Good value! May require some tweaking!
Initial set up about a month ago was easy and everything worked fantastic. But along the way I had to change the wireless password and that’s the problem started. Got in contact with their support service and they were able to help get things reset. However, we still have it so fortunately the regular Wi-Fi works great. Only extender has very limited reception. Rather than get it resolved at the time the technician tell me to just wait a few days and then call back so that’s why I’m only giving this review three stars. The extender has an app that helps with the set up so I never set the output fully at that time basically almost did it by itself so I set the app up now and can manage the device better. It is fairly user-friendly even for somebody that’s in their mid 60s with very little tech experience. Good value for the money.

Works as signal booster, simple setup
Using device as a signal booster. Works well, now have 5 bars instead of 1. Does not improve isp connection, just connection to the wifi router in the house. Easy setup with phone app.

Setting up the extender is a breeze, and the reception has improved notably. I really like the one-mesh technology, eliminating the need to change networks at home.

After installing a brand new TP-Link AXE75 (AX5400) WiFi 6E wireless router, I will still getting weak spots in the some rooms. I was hoping this would fix the issues with my Linksys Atlas mesh wireless network, which had good range but devices kept binding to a weaker node and wasn’t switching nodes seamlessly. After doing some research, I bought this TP-Link RE315 Range Extender because it could work with my router using TP-Link’s OneMesh/EasyMesh system. I was a bit skeptical given my bad experience with the Linksys mesh system. Setup was incredibly simple, I plugged the RE315 into a power outlet that was more central in my home, on a different floor from router. Pressed the WPS buttons on both the router and range extender and after a couple of minutes, they paired and the RE315 extended my 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. Using my router’s web interface, I could see the RE315 as a “Mesh device”.To test, I used my Pixel 6 and the WiFi Analyzer app on 5GHz network. With this phone on my previous Linksys Atlas mesh, it would bind to a node but wouldn’t switch to the stronger node, even if I was 1 ft away from it. I had to turn off WiFi and turn it back on before it bound to nearest node. With my TP-Link EasyMesh setup, I could see my Pixel 6 was connected to the AXE75 router. As a moved downstairs and was a few feet away from RE315, I saw the connection switch to the range extender. It was completely seamless and I didn’t lose the WiFi network, it just switched. With WiFi Analyzer, I could tell which network device I was connected to based on Mac address and IP. Onto an Internet speed test. Connected upstairs to AXE75, I was getting 600 Mbps down, 300 Mbps up on and 1Gbps Internet. Connected to the RE315, I was only getting 90 Mbps down, 60 Mbps up, which seems slow but I was expecting that with range extender as half the bandwidth is connecting to the main router, while other half is for clients. This is also a WiFi 5 AC1200 ranger extender, compared to my WiFi 6E AX router. So I was pleased with this performance since the area I was getting the dead spots in, I was now seeing full strength with good speeds, which is much better than dropped connections I was getting not using the range extender, or with my previous Linksys Atlas mesh.
