It only half way works
It will charge the battery while listening to music. However no function of earphone controls. No volume control, no pause control or answer phone control. So it only half way works. Sending it back

Love my Headphones, Needed to charge my Phone
Bought this as a travel device… Allows me to use my analog over-ear headphones on a plane and still charge my phone while watching movies, listening to music, etc.I found myself in a conundrum when I travelled by plane… I either could use my wired over-ear headphones (that I love) and deplete my phone’s charge (leaving me with a low battery when I got where I was going) or having to use wireless earbuds… And yes, I know I COULD have invested in wireless over-ear cans, but ones as good as the wired ones I had are expensive and I really didn’t want to spend the money.The answer was this adapter… Plug it into my iPhone, plug in my headphones, and then put the appropriate cable in the USB-C port on the adapter and plug into the plane’s USB connector (USB-A). Phone charges/stays charged and I get to use my favorite cans comfortably. Can’t beat it for ease of use, can’t beat it for options it gives me, and proved to be a great value for me.

These should come standard from Apple for any device that only has USB-C.
Have been using this with my new iPad and love it. I can wear my corded earphones and charger my device without any issues.

Do not purchase this device. It fails on every feature listed. You will not get the product as described. Your phone will fail to work if you plug the device into the USBC slot on your phone and then plug the charging cable into the charging port of the unitrd!
