It is a longer probe than others I have owned, therefore you are less likely to get burned from its use. Also, it appears to be more accurate. I like rare for all meat and fish I consume. Previously I overcooked all meat and since owning this one, I have not.Yes I understand the risks of consuming rare pork and fish. I ALWAYS know the source and age whenI buy. Worked as a butcher in college and ate raw sausage we made and thinly sliced various beef cuts. I am now 80 and will continue.Back to themonatorter…very good, very new, hope it lasts.

Doesn’t work.
Tried to use it while making a chicken. Whole thing was messed up have temperatures over 140 Farenheit as soon as it came out of the box. Was a waste.
